  1. Thanks, Dan. The original bucket seat came from one of my parts drawers. I think it was originally cast by some cottage industry long since gone. I made a mold and cast my own now.
  2. Even more amazing!! You're killin' me here, Dr. Cranky.
  3. No I'm not Vietnamese. I am a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
  4. What a cute little car. Super build. Bet it's noisy & hot in there with the engine running.
  5. Looking mighty fine - love that hood.
  6. Ah heat shrink tubing. Thanks Eelco. I don't have problem with the pic. The wheels are bead locks from Ma's Resin. The Desert Dog tires came from there too! Very nice castings.
  7. Thank you for the comments and yes that's the Vietnam ribbon. Thanks Eelco, but I already made license plates (check the rear end). I didn't want to put a plate on the front and thought painting the emblem would be the way to go. I was going to install a TV for the back seat passengers, but couldn't find one in my stash.
  8. I was able to get some work done on my mile high Dodge. The suspension is about complete. My first try and making headers from solder. Now I have to make some kind of collectors.
  9. here's my most recent completion. Revell's '57 Chevy Bel Air 2 door post. I removed some of the side trim, added a 3rd brake light, and installed bucket seats front & rear with a full length console. It's finished in HOK Kandy Teal.
  10. I agree with Ian - we really need a nail polish tutorial. My folks had a '66 almost that same color. I don't remember the model but it was a 2 door post, automatic with a six cylinder engine.
  11. Now that sounds like a plan, Aaron. Good luck.
  12. Amazing doctor. Just amazing. And it's fun watching your dio come together.
  13. Block & heads are glued together and then I drill the spark plug holes before brush painting.
  14. The windows are flat so yuo could probably use clear acetate without a problem.
  15. I always brush paint my engines and the transmission gets the same color as the engine. I usually do the front & rear suspensions in the same color as the engine - which usually tied into the interior color.
  16. My mistake, sorry. I'll have to check out this Gatorboard stuff. Is it like the story about Gatorade - made right up the road in Gainesville?
  17. Hey Bill - how are you? Miss seeing your fantastic and inspiring posts. Hope you're doing well.
  18. I've always called it foamboard, but I know the stuff you mean. Hobby Lobby and Michaels has it too. I once sprayed a piece with the stone fleck paint to try and get the look of the paint & chip paint for garage floors. The top layer of paper just curled and buckled on me. Your concrete floor looks just right.
  19. Howdy Adam. Get busy and post some pics of a build. It's fun here, isn't it?
  20. Your building is looking great, Cranky. I noticed the cracks in the concrete but no words on how you did them. And a question for you - what the heck is Gatorbaord?
  21. Howdy Don. I've been retired for ten years and lovin' every minute of it. I have all the kits (about 45) I need/want right now and all the paint, tools, and supplies anybody could want. If you try to buy everything now and stash it away, what will you do when new releases come out? Retirement is great! Don't feel like doing something today? Get to it tomorrow or the next day.
  22. Rotator cuff isn't necessarily an old age surgery. I had one about 30 years ago. Hey Walt - just take your time and heal. A friend had rotator cuff surgery 4 months ago and didn't do what he was told by the doc. Last week he went in to have his shoulder replaced - not good! He doesn't build models.
  23. I did a google on it and found it. Thanks for the info.
  24. This would be THE place for model builders. Welcome.
  25. Never heard of Tamiya Model Magazine. I guess I'll have to google it and find out about it.
