When my #2 left she took my dog too! I had to drive all the way out to Sycamore (40ish miles) a week later to pick her up. My Samantha wasn't eating and crying all the time. I think she missed me. Taking a man's dog isn't right. I'm glad I'm out of that marriage. There's a couple of humorous parts though. After selling the house, I found a smaller place and used the VA to get a loan with no downpayment. She complained to the judge that she has to live in an apartment. The second funny thing is that about a year later Lucent Technologies started downsizing. I was able to retire with a pension. Her and the boyfriend's division was shut down and they both lost their jobs with only a minor payment.

Thank you David and Jordan. I really appreciate your positive comments.

I understand, Niko. The little parts are attched to sprue. I would imagine after using the file you would probably need to use some finer grades of sandpaper to get a shiny finish. I'm going to try your suggestion and compare to the casting I plan to do. I might also try casting some Evergreen rod after it's been through the drill and you suggested. Thanks for the help. I forget when you're planning to come to Florida. Maybe we can get some Model Car Builders of Florida together to meet with you.

What is your favorite mold making product?
crazyjim replied to ian ashton's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I found it cheaper to buy Smooth-On products online from Chicago Air Brush rather than from Smooth-On direct and have ordered some Alumilite from Ma's Resin. -
I know how you feel G. I married my first less than a year after returning from The 'Nam. She couldn't take my drinking and anger. Dated for a long time and fell in love with #2 but she wouldn't marry me until I got help for some PTSD issues. That took 5 years with a VA shrink. After 9 years of marriage and a whole bunch of credit card bills, I got home to an empty house. She decided she liked her supervisor at work better. My #3, Marcia is great! She is actively involved in all the Veteran stuff I do and doesn't mind that spend time building. She thinks I waste time, but I think the same of her playing Farmville all the time.

MCG has a nice variety of items and runs a couple sales every year. Both of us being in FLA causes paying sales tax and shipping - so I usually order MCG items when I place an order with Rick over at Scale Dreams. I think Scale Dreams has a larger variety and pay only shipping.

It's that time. I just got my Aug/Sep Issue

Whoa, Chris. We were sunny and 85/55 with no snow predicted. We have the pool heated to 89. Life is good and maybe I'm not as crazy as I thought. -

Chris - if my issue doesn't show up next week sometime, could you send me your copy? I'd send yours back when mine came. -
Make '59 Caddy lenses yourself? I have some that are chrome plated and I', waiting for some Aluminite and red tint to cast some translucent red lenses. How would you make them?

Is this #152? Hasn't hit FLA yet. -
HOLY COW!!! Thank you, Greg. I guess my style is to just try to build models that in 1:1 could be driven on the street.

Always happy to share with my MCM friends, Antonio, and thank you. Hope you'll post your Camaro pics when you get to it.

Your Miss Deal looks terrific, Chris. Love the paint. Somewhere on this forum I posted the article from Car Model magazine. If you can't find it the post, let me know and I can post it again or PM to you.

Lot of work going into your build, Niko. How about 3 '59 Caddie taillights stacked vertically on each side? Maybe french them in a little bit?
-
Interesting build. I'm going to keep watching.
-
Looks excellent, Derek. You want to hook up with the Model Car Builders of Florida? PM me with your real email address if you're interested.

Box stock the Camaro sat too high. I did the spindle spin and agree it was too high, so I used Evergreen to raise the spindle even higher to lower the front end. I left the rear end because I wanted a slight rake.

Do all the Japanese kits come with LHD & RHD dashboard options? There are some interesting kits out there but I want them in LHD. The pics show RHD and I can't find kit details anywhere.

I would guesstimate the the filter grabs 90%+ of the paint particles. I checked the outside vent and is a very, very minor amount of paint particles there. I get some paint smell after shooting HOK kandy paint. The smell lasts only a few minutes. My booth is in 20' x 40' steel building.

Thanks Ray & Adam. It's a very nice kit with eveything fitting well. Flash is very heavy and you'll have to spend some time cleaning it up. It's molded in bright orange plastic that I didn't care for - should be white.
