  1. Thanks again, Will. The Aluminite might be shipped today so hopefully next week I'll be ready to try molding and casting some taillights.
  2. Will Leary mailed me some '59 Caddy taillights and I wanted to thank him on the forum. I tried searching for him but I don't know his name here.
  3. I haven't found a 1:1 project yet - but my eyes are open. Gregg - the techie tried to ping modelcarsmag.com and got no response. He was able to access the site from his iPhone like Marcia was. The Netgear router had a tiny, hidden reset switch on the back and resetting it to factory specs had no effect. The guy replaced the router and modem with a new RCA unit and bingo, bango I'm up and running.
  4. It's great to be back, George. I had no idea how addicted I am to this forum until I couldn't get to it. I really love it here.
  5. Yeah - TCPglobal is the place for HOK paints. I get the pre-mixed stuff.
  6. I did a new post on here. My problem in not being able to get to the forum was a bad router. It's been replaced and I'm good to go.
  7. Ha - I knew it was a model when I didn't see tire tracks in the sand. Looks great!
  8. Looking good, Niko. Keep it going.
  9. After over a week of withdrawal, I'm finally able to get to the MCM Forum again. Turns out we had a bad router so Brighthouse Networks just replaced it. Now I have to go through 461 posts that I've missed.
  10. I get lots of my detailing supplies from Scale Dreams. Rick has flocking, ignition wire, wire looms and other PE items, glue, wheels/tires, and all kinds of great stuff. I've heard some people buy Martha Stewart flocking at Michaels or Hobby Lobby - I never have. Some people buy the pre-wired distributors from Chris Morgan (?) but I use aluminum tubing to make my own or drill out a kit distributor. I've tried making throttle linkage but just can't my hands to follow my brain with the teeny little parts. Check some of the other posts and links to suppliers here on the forum. Purchase/subscribe to MCM and look at the suppliers in the mag.
  11. I get 2oz and 4oz pre-mixed bottles from West Coast Airbrush.
  12. I've been trying since Sunday to get to the MCM forum through IE. I keep getting the message that the website doesn't exist. But I'm getting email notices through aol to replies so people evidently are getting through. Now I'm in a hotel in Washington, DC and can get to the forum but not to aol. I don't know what to do.
  13. Happy Birthday to the greatest fighting force the world has ever seen. SEPMER FI. If you're in the WAshington, DC area, we'll be celebrating the USMC birthday at Froggy Bottom Pum on Pennsylvania Ave. Start about 8:00pm. Cake cutting (youngest & oldest) singing, ext. with Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq, Afghan Veterans and anyone else who would like to partake. It's gonna be good.
  14. Looks lik gold mine for somebody. Why doesn't he sell some of them?
  15. My HL is about a 25 mile mile drive, but I have to take Marcia to the eye doctor tomorrow morning and he's going to dilate her eyes. It just happens we'll be going past HL on the way home. I printed 2 coupons for potential use. Maybe when you move there'll be an HL nearby.
  16. They have many of them marked "long sold out". You going to try and order some? Let us know.
  17. Hobby Lobby 11/08/2010 thru 11/13/2010 has 30% off airbrushes, compressors, airbrush paints & accessories. There is also a 40% off coupon for any one item of regular price.
  18. Welcome to the best model forum around, Ernie. Don't forget to post the results of your build when completed.
  19. Find something the shape you want to bend to and heat the plexiglass very carefully. I've tried it and gave up. Much easier to make angles.
  20. Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware, etc. all carry clear plexiglas. Measure what you'll need and cut to size. Use clear silicone caulk on the inside of all seams. Works for me. The larger the sheet size the cheaper per square foot. Cut the sides so they just fit over the edge of your base. The top would then be slightly larger then the base - an 1/8" all the way around. It also helps to have a plexiglass cutter which is actually a scoring knife. Worst case, check out Carney Plastics. They make some wonderful cases.
  21. I use cheap lacquer thinner for cleaning paint brushes no matter which brand/type of paint I use.
  22. WOW!!!! I think you can classify that as a SUPER ROOM.
  23. Bummer, Mike. It'll probably be blamed on the post office.
  24. Terrific paint. Wheels X3?
