  1. I'll just wait until the mailman delivers my copy.
  2. He ndoesn't like to reply to me, so I don't bother him anymore.
  3. Speaking of Model Cars magazine, when is the issue coming out? PS - I don't do that "other" mag.
  4. Apparently the IPMS chapter has 3 factions - planes, boats, cars and each group stays with their own kind. I'd rather be part of a model car club. I have no interest in planes & boats. I forgot to mention in my earlier post that Larry (Inverness) and Terry (Hernando), are interested in our forming model car club. Larry is building again after 40 years and Terry has been building for about a year. I'm looking forward to the 19th and hope others will be willing to come out or at least provide some feedback on a preferred date/time.
  5. Such a nice day, I had to get the bike out and ride - so I went to my LHS. Rob's Hobby World in Ocala. Rob will give club members a 10% discount at his store (the new Dodge Dart Hemi is $22.99 on his shelf). IPMS has a chapter in Ocala (voted the best club chapter 2009). One of their members was at the store and we talked. It appears this chapter has quite a few car builders and are quite friendly. They meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month in Ocala. Any comments on the suggested date/time for the proposed Central Florida club?
  6. Can't make it - I have a meeting to attend. It would have been a great place to advertise the attempt to get a model car club going in Central Florida.
  7. It was available at mt LHS earlier today.
  8. Found it! I searched for Kynar wire wrap 30awg. I got mine from Jimmy Ping Fung and his email is jimmypwfung@gmail.com.
  9. Good looking build. I have a '70 1/2 on the workbench.
  10. Is that the wire used for ignition wire? I got a multitude of colors from a guy on Ebay. If that's what you're looking for, I can get the info. I'm pretty sure TxRat (Shane) led me to the search for it.
  11. Great start, Terry. The chassis is looking marvelous and I'll keep watching your progress.
  12. Just becasue a person doesn't get hired doesn't mean a particular shop isn't friendly. Should we be considering becoming an IMPS chapter? I know IMPS gets a 10% discount at Rob's Hoby World in Ocala. I'm planning to go up to Rob's today and will try to remember to ask about discounts. I've only been to Clermont once a few years ago when the new Harley dealership opened. I'd like to propose October 19, 2010 at 11:00am at a yet to be determined location in Clermont. There's been enough talk - let's get to starting this thing up.
  13. I like the flames and color scheme.
  14. That's a really good looking engine.
  15. I cook at the local VFW every Wednesday (4-6pm) but with enough notice, I can tell them I won't be there. The 2nd Saturday of every month is taken for my Rolling Thunder meeting. This coming weekend is the SE Street Rod Nationals in Tampa and some people said they plan on attending. You looking at during the day or nighttime?
  16. I have some experience with bylaws and parliamentarian procedures and should be able to come up with something suitable. I think it's important that we get the group together and decide what we what to do. When & where?
  17. Looking good, Marcus.
  18. I use the Alyn process of razor saw and miter box. That process leaves burrs inside & out of the tubing so I follow up with a flat file on the end first and then run the file around outside edge. Finally, I clean in the inside with an Xacto blade.
  19. My thoughts and prayers are with Corrie, Mike, and family.
  20. You're gonna keep us posted after you get it, aren't you?
  21. Oh baby, you're looking sweet.
  22. Thanks Justin. Vietnam Veterans were never the "drug crazed baby killers" the media reported. We have always been "just the guy next door." As a group, we wanted things - a memorial to our fallen and missing, a welcome home parade, and respect. It took too many years and we worked our butts off and we got it all. I truly believe that todays troops are treated very well by the public becasue of the issues Vietnam Veterans have gone through. You are a Veteran, Justin and you are my hero. Semper Fi, brother.
  23. That's some nice work and a fantastic paint job.
  24. A sidewinder V8? Paint looks fantastic.
  25. Most of the stuff JBwelda said but I'll either drill out the kit distributor or make my own from 2 pieces of aluminum tubing. I get the ignition wire and wire looms from Scale Dreams. The boot material is from telephone wire - the kind that has 4 wires inside - I strip the covering off and toss the actual wire. I've done several posts that are somewhere in this forum.
