  1. I've always like the '57s hood ridges with the "gunsights filled in.
  2. I didn't mind the "Rants & Raves" section. Didn't go there much either. Maybe that's why I haven't missed it. I would like tosuggest that the latest issue of MCM be put on the website to replace the May/June issue. That's not a rant or a rave! Just thinking it would be could to have the latest version out there.
  3. Yeah - it's been some time since I've seen a post from you. Welcome back.
  4. Looks like you hit for gold, Drew.
  5. Thanks for the reply Jeff. After thinking and looking at the situation, I think I'd be better off to glue the tubing to the back of the wheel after the resin has been poured. Hopefully it'll stick.
  6. I've made a wheel mold using Smooth-On and cast some wheels. Is there some kind of glue I can use to attach Evergreen tubing to the mold? I'd like to have a piece of tubing sticking out the back of the wheel before I pour the resin for casting.
  7. How did you do the grill? Evergreen?
  8. Lay down some Plast-i-cote white primer and shoot Tamiya pearl TS65 over it.
  9. Brad - if you need help with the sorting when you're in FLA, just let me know. I have experience with sorting huge lots of model kits.
  10. Two finished and 1100 kits waiting? Holy moly!! Maybe you need to stop buying/trading Whale392 and start building. I feel bad that I have about 40 kits (with 2 Hemi Darts on order). 1100 kits?? WOW!!!
  11. Fantastic builds, Earl. On a 1:1 they'd be a nasty ride being rigid frames. I'll stick with my HD Wide Glide. H,h,h,h,h Honda??? Come on Zukiholic - who would admit to riding a Honda? I used to - and most of the other metric bikes ( notice I didn't say rice burners) until I was 50 and got divorced. She left and a Harley was in the garage a few weeks later. Sometimes, actually many times, I wish she would have left sooner. Hey, whatever you ride, RIDE SAFE!!
  12. I've built a few models for people who wanted a scale version of their 1:1. My builds weren't the greatest, but then I didn't charge anything either. I just like building models and found trying to duplicate a 1:1 in scale was a challenge. Maybe I should have asked for the price of the original kit?
  13. Those look pretty cool. Maybe we need a photoshop-off with you, Harry P. and whoever else does that stuff.
  14. I rip off 1 end panel and rest of the box goes in the trash along with the directions. Naturally, I save any extra parts.
  15. I'd like to see more pics of that '56, Chas, if you have them.
  16. I think the F-100 Nationals are held at Pigeon Forge, PA but I don't know when.
  17. Looks like Smooth-On only sells the 202 in gallon size - way too much. Alumilite clear will work with Smooth-On molds (RTV) so I'm planning to buy some clear and red dye from Al Raab - Ma's Resin.
  18. Hey Nick - where you been kid? haven't seen you reply or post anything in a long time. I was thinking maybe winter hit and you were snowed in up north.
  19. I was looking at the Smooth-On 202 clear but the Smooth-On rep told me it's for industrial use only. Maybe Aluminite has something.
  20. This looks interesting. I think I'll keep watching the build.
  21. I haven't entered a model show since the mid to late '70s. Here's a pic of a first place entry.

    Fuelie '57

I wasn't sure I'd get to the pics. Long but worth reading and your build came out gorgeous.
  23. Gotta keep watching this build.
  24. Jeff - I have a Smooth-On starter kit. What resin & dye do you use to make taillights? Are they translucent? I'd like to try '59 Caddy lights. This molding and casting stuff is all new to me.
