  1. Very innovative. I don't like my marshmellows burnt - just crispy on the outside.
  2. Welcome Will. Did your balsa block win? Great story. Lots of terrific things happening here.
  3. My wife, Marcia, thinks it's stupid for a 62 year old man to "play" with model cars. She can't wait to get home from work to play farmville, check her cafe and her casino on facebook. That's okay though.
  4. That's really neat. I love it.
  5. I enjoy the living heck out of building models and build the very best I can. My builds may not be state of the art or the most detailed build you ever saw, but I enjoy building. I have the money to buy just about any tool, kit, paint, etc. I want, but I draw the line at spending the money on wheels/tires that cost $40 or $50. Pegasus items work for me. I don't buy much PE other than wire looms. While I just love lots of the resin bodies out there, I can't see spending $50 for body and then have to buy a kit for the frame and interior. Maybe I'm just cheap or saving for old age. Whoops - I'm 62. Old age already crept up on me.
  6. And if it wasn't for you Navy type people, Brad, who would carry our luggage. Gotta go now. It's Friday and you know what that means - pizza, pool, popcorn, and WWE wrastlin'. Later.
  7. This might be a good time to mention that we will be celebrating the 235th birthday of the MARINE CORPS on November 10, 2010. The place will be Froggy Bottom Pub on Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington, DC. The time will 8:00pm. We know there will be several Vietnam Veterans, Iraq & Afganistan Vets, Desert Storm/Shield Vets, Gold Star Mothers (including one whose Marine son was awarded the Medal of Honor. Cake will be cut by the youngest & oldest and served to all by members of the Navy. Oh, we also plan to be at the official ceremony at the Iwo Jima Memorial in the morning.
  8. And you know G? I really believed I was going to be issued sunglasses.
  9. Put the gold base coat on the '60 Chevy S/D. Clear coated the '70 Eldorado. Got the silver base coat on the '66 Nova pro-street.
  10. Wow. That's a super nice looking build. I gotta try that nail polish someday.
  11. Fantastic, Peter. I'm going to keep watching this fantastic build. Right now though, I have to agree with Old-Hermit and go have a butt.
  12. I didn't have to login again and here I am.
  13. Welcome Chris. I've been in the Dallas/Ft.Worth airport a couple of time.
  14. TAOM. I googled and got Texas Association of Magicians. Really. Sounds like you're kind of getting air support for the troops. Since you're in for so long, why go for 20 and get a pension? PI? Real MARINES go through San Diego (Platoon 1081, September 10, 1968). SEMPER FI, BROTHER. Thanks for keeping us safe and you keep yourself safe too.
  15. Welcome Ken. Can't wait to see the pics.
  16. Real nice looking 57.
  17. I've discovered something else about using solder for exhaust pipes. I used the solder and put polished aluminum tubing for the ends. I didn't glue the solder or tubing to the chassis. The solder has dropped. It needs to be supported somehow or over time it will droop.
  18. Phantastic!!
  19. Doing your usual excellent work and it's interesting to watch. Why though, would anybody need a sleeper cab on a tow truck? They don't do long, multiple day trips, do they?
  20. Got Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's Outlaw and some cast resin parts in a trade with Ohiochris.
  21. Looks excellent. I like how you colored the pipes where they make the bend.
  22. The stuff without the acid core in .062" diameter. Radio Shack carries it. Pull a length from th roll but don't cut it yet. Grab the loose end with pliers, hold the reel, and pull. That will straighten the solder. Then you can bend to the shape you want.
  23. I use a desk from when I was a kid. I might be fortunate in that I have a 20' x 40' steel building on our property. I took a 10' x 20' area for a hobby area that has been finished with insulation, drywall, heat, AC, and water. I also do stained glass so I need space. I have a 3'x 8' workbench, 2' x 8' cutting/grinding table, 1' x 6' glass storage area. I use the desk for assembly and the worktables for laying out parts.
  24. I think this is going to be interesting. Isn't it expensive to buy stuff from overseas and have it shipped to USA? All Howard's prices have that funny L in front and I don't know what it would amount to in dollars.
