  1. I did lots of stuff on this build; scratch built the door panels & console; modified the rumble seat so it kinda match the single stripe bucket seats; frenched taillights and front turn signals; sunroof; one piece tilt hood; .062 solder for the exhaust with Evergreen tubing for mufflers; polished aluminum exhaust tips; wheels/tires from somewhere; black BMF running boards. The paint is HOK Magenta kandy over a gold base.
  2. The only Mopar kits I have are 1970 Dodge Challenger Revell #85-2596 1978 Dodge Li'l Red Wagon AMT #38248 1997 Plymouth Prowler w/trailer AMT Dodge Evil Spirit MPC #1-0858 I have a few Hemi engines and a slant 6 - 2 slant 6's if you count the one in a Deora kit.
  3. I am one of those narrow, closed mind people. This is the Model Car Magazine forum. I don't really mind pickup trucks because I build them every so often. Okay, Christian? Being narrow & closed minded allows me to say that I don't care about NASCAR. I don't like country music and refuse to eat liver, and will never eat ham & limas again. And no matter how you take my above statements, I love all you people here at the Model Car Magazine forum. (Thank you. I feel better now).
  4. The front of that Ferrari looks sorta like a '70 Camaro. What are you looking for in a trade?
  5. Nice pics. Thanks for sharing, Gerry.
  6. It's August already and the last MCM issue was May/June. I was just wondering when the next issue should appear (I'm just anxious to see it).
  7. Your van takes me back to the good old days. Nice work - looks excellent.
  8. Looks you folks had a great time. Those flames look very realistic.
  9. So Matt, this pro street back half chassis will fit any kit? Never did resin before. Do you include instructions on prepping, primer, etc.?
  10. Model Car Magazine. How hard is that to understand? No airplanes, boats, trains, or bicycles!
  11. Cut a length of the thin (.062) solder from Radio shack and pull it between 2 pairs of pliers. It'll straighten out and then you can bend wherever you need to bend, but at least you'll be able to start with a straight piece. I did the above procedure on a '36 Ford I'm building and hope to post under glass early next week. I'll be using polished aluminum tubing for the exhaust tips.
  12. My wife bought me a Katherine Jenkins CD (beautiful voice) and I'm taking it out to the shop and getting some model work done.
  13. I like it. The flames are awesome. Where did you get that mesh grille material?
  14. I use Model Car Garage wire looms that I get through Scale Dreams. I believe MCG has 2 styles available.
  15. See what you started, Fabien? After all those years you came back and spendd money on plastic toys. This is the best place to learn new tricks, share ideas, and post your builds. Welcome.
  16. I'm not into weathering and boneyards, but your dios sure look realistic.
  17. I think that's the kit I used to build mine - that's an old kit, Mark.
  18. Yes, the Kosutte-Ginsan is a powder - very, very fine powder. I used a Q-Tip to rub it into the paint. I did a coat of Testors 1814 clear enamel over the Plasitote T235 primer.

    '57 Chevy

Thanks guys. The chrome tape came from Auto World. They used to sell several colors, including chrome is a variety of widths. I don't think BMF existed yet.
  20. Nope. The spares were acquired recently.

    '57 Chevy

One more old timer from the mid 70s to mid 80s. This was my first shot at a diorama - it's supposed to look like the car is set up at a car show. Handpainted cob webbing. I sprayed black and then some translucent blue and then clear. The wiring is sewing thread. Caps on the headers are actually air filters from some kit.

    White Nova

Anotehr old build - probably mid 70s to mid 80s. I think this was the Old Pro kit. It used to be white with handpainted black cob webbing and then some clear with gold sparkles in it. Made a flip front end. Took first place and best paint at a local show. I always did and still do like cobwebbing.
  23. This is a replica of my first car - '56 Chevy 210. Over the fews everybody in the neighborhood worked on it. It had a 327/350, white VHT painted headers out the wheel wells, Lee Plastics taillights, station wagon springs, chrome reversed wheels in back and Astro slots in front, 4 speed, '64 Impala SS seats.
  24. This is the Fiat body from the original double dragster kit. I mated the grille with the front fenders of a '37 Chevy and made a flip front end. I had to build this thing somewhere between 1973 and 1985. In a LHS contest it took first place. Parts are falling off and it's dusty, but check out that prism tape on the air filter - state of the art!
