Looking for a 78-79 Ford Fairmont
chris coller replied to chris coller's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Care to share some info as to where you got the car or how it came to be? I have a customer that would be very interested in a few of them. -
Very nice work. I like the styling on the car as well. Very sleek and slick at the same time.

Nice work! That grill must have been a pain in the butt to do.

Reliable Resin : COMING SOON

My issue was with you Don is I contacted you about your LX Mustang and was amazed how much the price changed from your ebay listing price. $15 for a rear window was a bit ridiculous. The way you spoke to me about my customer on the phone was even better yet. That's my beef. I was looking forward to having a conversation to see if we could come to an understanding at the NNL East. Oh well maybe some other time. As you say "modeling is meditation" I am going to go meditate now. -
Clarafacation I hope.

My work area is my living room right in front of my television. I have no elaborate work area. Wish I did cause it kills my knees and my back. But it is a hobby and meant as such. There are all different skill sets in the hobby. I learned the hard way and by others. Learning from others is the best least expensive way to learn(recommended)There are by far enough folks on here that would help you with an issue, offer advice, help locate certain parts, models, or whatever it is you are seeking in the hobby. Some will even offer their political views(not recommended) I chose to start detailing things just out of trying to push my skills and admired the others that have detailed out their projects. It is a rewarding thing when everything comes together. Either way enjoy the hobby and start with small details and build on from there. -

Hate to against the general consensus but the red one takes the cake for me. Love the wheels with it as well. Very nice builds. -
Who's carbon fiber decals did you use for the hood? I like the way it looks. Good work!
-
I guess my feeling on the subject matter is those who post and quote on someone's build and don't post anything they have built seems kinda pointless. If you are one of the people who remark about others work and don't post up your own work for "judgement" is a little unfair. While I agree this site has some of the best builders around things tend to get a little wacky from time to time. But when you have this many creative personalities in one place things will get wacky. It is a hobby and only a select few get paid to do this. I wish I got paid more for some of the things I do. But oh well. Have fun and take things with a grain of salt.

Any Transformers fans out there?

Boy it almost seems like they didn't learn from the second film. How much merchandising can you do? It again will be a 2 hour commercial. Sorry for being a killjoy. I just sat home the other day on my day off and watched me som original G1 cartoons. Ahhh the memories of childhood. -
The headlights and the third brake light kill the design. I do like the body style mimicing the 64 1/4. Just a little more work and I think they may have something
-
I just turned one into a pro stock slot car body

Does anyone make a 1965 Comet

Thanks guys. I thought Model Car World might be a good place to start. -
What are you looking for exactly? The decals with the Dale Earnhardt name on it comes from Slixx Napa, Penzoil, Bud, cars all owned by DEI. Detail products that I use are from the following: www.protechmodelparts.com Model Car Garage Detail Master for the A/N fittings. I would recommend the combanation fittings. You can cut them up. Arrowhead Aluminum Accessories if they are still in business. Expect a delayed time for receiving parts due to Dwaynes health. www.scaledreams.com

I will be there.

Around 135 mph on the highway driving my friends 1993 RX-7 Twin Turbo. That car hauled the mail! -
That thing is SLICK man. I like the metal work you did. Top notch stuff.

Dude, this guy got me to get a post taken off so I wouldn't damage his "reputation" anymore than it already has been and comes up with lip service to smooth things over and the conveintly forgets the price he quoted me. Long waits and a bad attitude is what you will get. I would if I was you avoid dealing with this person.
-
Have fun with that. Great guy to deal with just you wait and see.

It is great to build a glorified promo. Isn't that what most have them have turned into? It is bad when you you mount the chassis to the body and it pushes your interior over the door lines. Am I the only one that has happened to from an AMT kit. Have any of you built an AMT Nascar from the 90's. Great example of how things just don't work and fit well to complete a nice model...........atleast right out of the box.
