You can try www.stradasports.com. They carry Scale Production parts. Just not sure if they stock them.

Very nice and clean. The detail is top notch, especially the GM badges on the seat belt buckles. Very nice indeed!

It's made by Revell. I built one when I was like 17 and didn't turn out all that well. So for $2 why the heck not!

Q about acrylic paint
chris coller replied to Jon Cole's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have used 90% isopropyl and it works just fine. Thin it out to a milk like consistancy and shoot it at about 15-20lbs and you should be set. It seems to dry rather quick that way and is about a 1/3 of the cost of Tamiya. JMO -
I picked this up at my local flea market for $2. I am attempting to throw some detail at it as well. I am using Pro Tech braided line and carb, Detail Master fittings, a seat belt set from Studio27 and a few more things as well. It will be a wheels off style build. The torsion bars and radius rods will be from RB Motion when I get around to ordering them. The rear overflow tank is made from K&S aluminum tubing and sheet. This is what you get after a week or so working on the car. The decals will be from Slixx although I have no idea what they look like because the don't have a pic of them on their site. So I will be surprised when the get here. So here you go

Those are awesome reference pics. Thank you for posting them. Man it's amazing how different this car is set up from the model. Glad I didn't get to far into this build I will post pics soon. Thanks again! -
can help me out. I am looking fro pics for the SCCA Camaros that ran in the early to mid 90's. (93-96) Engine, chassis, whatever direction anyone can point me in. Thanks, Chris. I am specifacly building the Highway Masters SCCA Camaro and am in need of reference. Google sucks for this. Was on and punched in a few different ways and got nothing that will really help.

Here is the Warren Johnson body I did for a slot car customer. Comp Resins body with Slixx decals. Not exactly correct but you get the idea. I did do the Firebird version of this car and was short on the correct markings and had to improv.

Nice stuff. Although I feel some is a bit over priced for my tastes. Good luck -
Wow, you know it's bad.....

I know what you mean Dale. I grew up watching Thursday Night Thunder on ESPN. They would show sprint car and midget racing on tv. It was awesome. Nascar is nothing more than corporate politics and cookie cutter drivers. It sucks big time. Brian France is smart and stupid. Nascar doesn't need a name plate....they own the car and everything that goes with the design process. Now they look like Gt cars that race really crappy. If you wabnt to take a nap on Sunday throw a nascar race on. Sweet dreams. -
Stripping paint off resin?
chris coller replied to chris coller's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
All great info. Now the hard part not sure what paint was used. Basically I will try Super Clean first. Then isopropyl. next one of the two should work. Thanks guys! -
PayPal question with a dilemma
chris coller replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bill. it all depends on how they paid. E-check, credit card, etc...Usually it can take up 3 to 5 days sometimes a week to clear your account. Credit card are almost intsantaneous. Give paypal a call if you are unsure. For the most part in my experience they have been easy to work with. Hope that sheds some light. By all means wait till the payment clears your account and contact the buyer and let them know it will not be shipped untill payment clears your account. -
What is the best stuff to use in this scenario? Something that would take off all types of paint and not damage the resin?

Real or Model #100 FINISHED!
chris coller replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
Going with model on this one. The rear wheels look like they sit to far back in the wheel wells. -
www.slixx.com www.banditresins.com Google: Top End Miniatures www.reliableresins.com But to be more specific what type of drag parts are you searching for?

Gotta say that is one sweet conversion. I followed this thread and seen the layout in the mag and was just blown away. Great build bring the same car together from two different era's.

Money for Models???
chris coller replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
They only thing I can say is if you go to a contest you are there to compete. If not why would you put you stuff on the table. Money plaques, Hickory Farms gift basket or whatever it will be we still go for the same reasons. I enjoy seeing people from years past, from other contests and my fellow club members. We are there to have fun aswell I don't want that to get lost in translation in my post. If you win be humble if you lose be humble. Have I complained about judging, absolutely. Poop happens it is a way of life. Use that and build on it for the next contest. I like seeing new stuff at shows. It gives me motivation to expand my skills. Although there are some the do things to death. Like if you have seen car they have built you have seen them all. I welcome plaques, trophies, the aforementioned Hickory Farms basket, and yes cash. -
That is one wicked paint job! Great build of an obscure car.
-
Looks good Dave. A little different build for you from what I am used to seeing. I want to do a 1/43 car. So many good choices. Did I happen to mention nice build?
-
Very nice, very very, nice. The lowered stance and those wheels really compliment the build. Superb work!

Thanks guys. Due to economic woes and lack of transportation sold it on ebay for $100. All is well that ends well, meaning I will be mobile in the next few days. Ahhhhh the freedom of the open road.
