  1. I hope you do build that Nick. I think you have the talent and ability to build up a nice car. Now what color will it be is the important question?
  2. Alright after 2 years off loosing interest and motivation to complete this kit, I have conquered this beast. I used a Crazy Modeler photo etch set, Scale Motorsport carbon fiber decals, Studio 27 carbon decals, Pro Tech braided for the coolant lines and crimp beads. Pretty happy with the out come. Had some fit issues with some of the undertray areas. Hence no pics of that area. Paint is Zero Rosso Corsa Ferrari paint topped off with 2-part PPG clear. This is a left side view only car. Some of the pieces that were in the box ended up to close to my heater and warped a bit. On the right side of course. I guess all in all one good side is better than none! Her yo go..................................
  3. I will add some things that I agree with by the original poster and follow up by agreeing some others on this subject. I do think it is bush league to pass someone else's work off as your own. But in this case you can buy talent( Just like the Yankees). If a said person wants to compete I challenge them to work to the competitive level. Where is the pride in folks buying someone else's work and calling it their own? I just don't get it! I recently ran into this as I saw a car that I had put most of the work into on a forum that had contest pictures on. Spoke to the person about it and let him know how I felt about it but I was paid well for what was done to the car. Not the point though. Now as far as contests go, I enter a contest put on by the club I am in and usually do well. The catch is, it is a peer vote contest. I also choose not to vote. I agree with the club table idea or atleast no one in the club should be able to vote. Great idea in theory but it won't always happen like that. As far as competition goes, if you lose consider why you lost or didn't place. There are guys out there that are way above me but I plug away and do well. This is a hobby and I enjoy the competition as much as the finished product. Maybe a case of Kleanex for those that get pissy about certain things. I could see if folks were competing for money like a few hundred dollars or something to get that bent out of shape over. But as alot of others have said it comes down to chatting with your peers and enjoying the builds on the tables.
  4. Brendan, I always enjoy your builds. You just have a knack of choosing really good subjects and this one is no exception. I really like this build. Awesome! That wing looks like it was a hassle to paint and put together.
  5. I don't think Jeff is posting this to start a controversy. I beleive he is trying to stimulate oteher to contribute constructively to the hobby we all enjoy. Post up you WIP'S and your completed projects. Myself will be posting my FXX that is all but done. Please don't misinterpret what he is trying to say. I am right along with his thought process. As far as the if you don't like it don't read issues, sometimes it is hard due to the fact that the subject is on point and then suddenly goes the total and opposite direction. I do understand that this is just a hobby and I called someone out. I have my reasons and it was a moot point. Try and not be just a mouth piece if you will and show all us other folks on here your skills your buids and ask questions on things you are stuck on. I have absolutely no problem helping anyone out. One last thing, believe it or not I use other people's builds as inspiration to push my skills and try to go outside the box. I guess creative minds don't always think alike.
  6. Very nice set of Ferrari's you got there
  7. Awesome so far. You might have inspired me to actually build mine after I am done fighting with my FXX. Looks great!
  8. You have the wrong section. Try the swap ,trade, free section or wanted section.
  9. Very unique subject. I like the 1:1 version can't wait to see you do up the model. I will pay attention to this.
  10. At the moment I asked if they took paypal they had replied that they weren't capable of taking it. The policy may have changed by now. Contact them directly off the web site. They have a 1-800 number and another number on the site as well.
  11. My friend you are close to what he is asking, but the 962 is based on a slot car. That is why the windows are glued in already. I had the Shell 962 and was none to happy with that. I took the car back to the hobby shop and traded for something else.
  12. Very nice indeed and you can never go wrong with blue!
  13. Looks good Dale!
  14. If it would a apeaze the general public I am all for it. The thing that bothers me as someone will post about a subject than it goes way off topic, becomes a political tirade and someone trying to push their views on others. If you want to talk politics and other general B.S. then by all means....................DO IT! I visit this site to escape from the above mentioned and try to contribute to the modeling community the best I can. So again if it make folks happy to air their feeling on other subjects not pertaining to the modelers out there than GO FOR IT. This will cause issue from arising from the guys that are here strictly for the modeling experience!
  15. I will agree with both Harry and Peter. The and us is all true, but the thing is this is a rule by fear government. It has been for atleast the last 30 years. I don't think there is enough clear minded individuals to take back the country. They believe the government is right and that they have your best interests in mind. All the while they line their pockets and set themselves up along with their families. They don't care about the hard working average Joe or Jane. If they did we wouldn't be here. Our great government of ours chose to bail out corrupt banks and incompetant auto makers. If they cared the would have taken that money and gave back to the hard working , tax paying, true citizens that carry the country. Or just make taxes a certain percentage across the board for everyone!
  16. That is just bananas. Is it a 1/4 working model for those of us that just like pictures?
  17. Very nice work. Are these cars relatively easy to build?
  18. Very nice! Like all of your work it is super clean with smooth paint. Keep up the good work.
  19. Dave T was an inspiration on this car. His layout of it in the mag (JULY 07) was simply incredible. I had the kit before that was published. That was just the motivation I needed. I lost interest in it because I wanted to use 2 part clear on it and wasn't to familiar with the process of using it. I have PPG 2 part and it works well but I can't seem to find consistancy with it. Due dillagence will pay off. I am practicing on slot car bodies. I will be clearing it again in a few days and hope to finish it up within the next week. Stay tuned!
  20. Thanks guys. Most of the fit issues are on the bottom of the car which isn't that big a deal. But the cost of the kit and how much money I spent on carbon fiber and photo etch kind a makes me feel disappointed. I do like the way the car is turning out though if that makes sense. Once I get the clear on it and display it with the doors and engine cover opened I think all will be forgotten.
  21. Small update on a never ending build. Atleast it seams that way. Got the body panels cleared and decaled. Going to throw another coat of clear on it and polish it out. I have a little paint work left to do, hope I have enough left to paint the inside wing uprights. I think I didn't assemble it properly due to some of the fit issues I have. It's okay though because the doors and engine cover will be displayed opened.
  22. I am in the midst of finishing up my FXX the rotors on these cars are actually carbon fiber. I painted mine light gunmetal and just painted the calipers semi gloss black. Just my two pennies worth.
  23. Very nice build! I love the subtle and pronounced details on this car. Always wondered what a detailed version of this car would look like and you have capture it very well.
  24. Can't ruin my paint job with some drivers autograph! This subject I wanted to try and throw some detail at. I am happy so far. Just hope I didn't jump the gun and put the rear axle in to soon. I am thinking it might mess up my plans for the rear radius rods.
  25. Thanks guys. My floor is my work bench. I will have a bad back to go with my bad knees later in life. If you're gonna do it, do it right. Up next is to finish my SCCA Camaro.
