A small update on this project. I got some of the lines tied down. Got the front brake rotors/calipers all but buttoned up. I need to scratch built the hubs and lug studs and add some coil over shocks on all four corners. Also need to make the rear radius rods for the rear axle and as well as finish up the brakes. A few more parts and I can wrap this fun project up. Detailed the wheels with a white gel pen and decals from an Indy Car decal set. Here yo go

Where to start? Well I finished this up late Saturday night for a contest Sunday. Thank god I got my RB MOTION parts Saturday(thanks Rob). I used Protech braided line, Detail Master fittings, Scale Motorsports dzus fasteners and other photo etch fasteners,Model Car Garage rotors, Replicas of Maryland brake calipers, scratch built shocks, trackbar, swaybar, front chassis bars, and cut the top of the rollcage of and rebuilt that. There is plenty more work done but I won't bore you with the dialect. Here are the pics. Enjoy!

Need your input and advice!!!!
chris coller replied to cruz's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I lose my a$$ everytime I sell one. With the time and materials alone. Ebay is a tough market to sell. I have seen some replica stocks go for big bucks, but that is definitely not my forte. I have found a niche though that is kinda model related. Kinda have to put somew feelers out there and find the right group to sell to. -
Very nice build Cruz. I can't wait to see it in person Sunday.

I have just purchased PPG 2 part urethane clear and have been experimenting with some old bodies and have found no issues going over decals. As far as the TS-13 the only decals I have had no issues with is Tamiya's own decals. All other decals need to be built up over 5-8 light mist coats to help "seal" the decals before you start laying heavy coats. Hope that helps.

What I do with every model I build after I open it is study the instructions. Every section on the instruction sheet I break down. Then study the parts. Once you get a handle on that start cutting parts off the trees if you are going to spray paint them. If not paint all the parts on the trees let them dry and assemble the model that way. I spray just about everything with spray cans or through my airbrush. If there is anything more you want to know just ask. I am sure there will be more than just this response to refer to. Good luck and welcome to the hobby!

I use Poly-Zap on items such as that. On bodies and windows I use Tamiya X-22 acrylic clear for window rivets and scripts.

Cruz, are you showin off again? I had a chance to see this in person and the paint is smoooooooooth! Very nicely done. You gonna be at "The Showdown"?

Kevin man I have watched and read your posts over the last year or so. Some have been good and some well, some to be desired. I gotta agree you see like you need the attention. So I will bite. You have called people out in the past which for what reason I don't know. This is a hobby, but don't get me wrong I build to compete. My skills aren't the best but they are moving along quite nicely. So here is the deal I will take you up on a modeling challenge if you will. The only term I have is we build something that neither one of typically build. I build mostly race cars and you build lowriders . It will still be automotive related. My advice to you is try to be more humble. You are a young guy with the ability to increase your skills and potentially do well in competition. You just seem to go about it the wrong way. I only say this cause I was like that too and still am to a certain degree. So if you are interested PM and we can talk about the subject matter.

$24.00 Monogram '32 Ford kit ?
chris coller replied to Pete L.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You can bet you butt Hobby Town does charge the MSRP. Atleast mine does. Money grubbin bastard. That is the major reason why I don't but kits from them. I don't think it was a wise decision for the model car companies to jack the price of there kits that high. -
Don't know if I can say this but that is bad a$$. One of my favorite Ferrari's. Great work!

Very cool Dale! I can't wait to see the Bentley finished. Would love to do the Alfa Romeo myself. Just like the scheme on that car.

Well I made some significant progress since the last update. Car is painted, cleared and decaled. Two sets of decals were used on all the yellow. I need one more set for the red stripes on the bottom of the car. It is almost complete minus some decals, hood and trunk hinges, window straps and shocks, as well as some fuel lines that need to be ran in the trunk area. I have a contest coming up in about a month. I hope to have it finished by then. So here is what I have to date.

Here are some pics of the car painted, polished, and decaled. Slixx decals and Tamiya paint. Here ya go!

Gotta agree with Mick on that. Very slick paint as your name indicates. Very nice work!

###### man! Such slick paint and smooth BMF. That is one nice piece you built there. AWESOME!

Do you ever get the feeling?
chris coller replied to Custom Hearse's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If you want response build anything Mopar or 32 Ford anything! You will get tons of reponses. That was tongue and cheek by the way. I build things that not everyone likes but I still build. I build for myself and contests in mind. What is more rewarding than someone replying to you on here is actually getting out (assuming you have the venues to attend) and having folks talk to you in person. I don't post on everything as well, but if the subject is well done than kudos go out. Good luck with your choice in what you do. Just keep in mind that there are many subjects people cover on here and to be honest I don't like them all. It is just a matter of opinion. Don't stop building or posting just for those reasons. This is a therapuetic hobby when it comes down to it. Enjoy! -
Gotta say I really like this build alot. Ferrari doesn't make an ugly car either. You two together should make this awesome when it's finished. The carbon fiber look great. I bet the engine cover was a pain in the butt to do?

Real or Model #102 FINISHED!
chris coller replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
I say real due to the window opening. Looks to be a carbuerated car and the linkage looks to defined to be a model. -

Her is my email coll6chris@aol.com If you have any questions let me know in your email. Thanks guys and hopefully we can get the ball rolling and get together soon.

Google RB motion. It will bring up his Fotki page. Address and phone number should be available. Mail order only unless you go the way Gregg suggested.

Thanks I actually know those guys. Good group. We may build differently than them. Do you have any contact info for those guys? I see those guys at shows and some flea markets. I just lost the info I had. I would like to get in contact with Benny and talk to him about making an appearence down there.
