Very cool. The things you guys do with customs is mind numbing. So clean and creative. The low stance always gets me too!

Mine would be my 69 Yenko Camaro. Ralley Green is the color( I think). This car went together so well, the paint laid well, no build issues with the exception of me painting the interrior white. I know wrong color it is supposed to be black. The clear laid so smooth I didnt even have to polish it out. As far as competition is concerned this particular car has been nothing but to good to me. It has won various awards and has been in SAE. Sorry for the other mag plug. But MCM is a bit tougher to be published by in my humble opinion. Which is a good thing if you ask me.

The Utlimate Hobby Shop
chris coller replied to 93Z34's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Speaking of Hobby Town, I stopped into my local franchise to check out the new kits that came. To my utter astonishment I noticed Revell kit prices shot up five to seven dollars per kit. To me that is ridiculous. That is why I dont purchase kits from them unless they provide that 25% off coupon. I get most of my kits at shows for a third off or less then the above mentioned franchise. I have a hobby shop in town I have been going to for about 25 years. They are great and always treat me well. The ownerknows who I am and so forth. The only two down sides are now taht I am expanding my builds they dont have what I am looking for aswell as the owner looking to get out. Retirement and not so good location in what some would call "The Hood". It really isnt in the best of neiborhoods but they are great people. Ott's Hobbies in good ol Reading,PA. There might be a few folks on here that know the place. -

Paints:sets...types...advice, etc
chris coller replied to Saturnine's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I myself like laquers. I prefer Tamiya, Dupli Color and House of Kolor. Enamels are to sensitive for me to work with. All three above come in spray cans if that is what you are most comfortable with. HoK comes in spray cans and bottles for air brushing. Remember these are my preferences. You should recieve alot of other preferences on this matter. I have found Tmiya is the most versatile of the three. But again that is my experience. -

Cool. Good to see your getting your interest back. I'm sure I will see you at a show in the near future. By the way the gentleman you're trying to get intouch with only live about 15 minutes away from me. Just some useless info. Like alot of people I am full of it. -

Man, whom ever built the Yenko Nova did a killer job. That thing is phenomenal! Great work.... -
Looks good Dale. The carbon fiber adds so much depth to this build. I have found that once you throw some carbon fiber on these types of cars your hooked. They just dont look right without them.

Jeff, I did include the phone number. Perhaps give him a jingle about parts. My guess would be after 5pm would be the best time to contact him. It couldn't hurt?! -

HOK and Dupli Color
chris coller replied to chris coller's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks guys. I just wanted some other hands on accounts as to this practice. Thanks again for the info! -
I will give it a whirl. And if you are interested $10 for the models and the s/h. No motors, i checked the box and chassis and bodys for the most part. Some wheels included.
-
Has anyone used HOK and Dupi together? If so what type of results have you had? I have had success with Tamiya over HOK but poor results with Dupli Color over Tamiya. Just dont want to ruin the paint on my purple Mustang. To much body work done to have a paint malfunction. Any help would be appreciated!

Built two of the DTM cars and had fun with both. I added carbon fiber and some photo etch for more depth. Both of your DTM's are very nice. Good job!

chris coller replied to E St. Kruiser50's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Very cool indeed. I like the fact that you decided on doing the split window. It adds depth and a whole lotta character to this awesome model. -
I got 4 70 Chevelles in various states all are started (not by me) 2 of them have primer, one painted red and the last one has no paint. Mostly bodys and chassis. Glass in two of them. I gotta be honest not in the best shape but maybe salvageable. Let me know if your interested.
