  1. Looking great, Wayne. (I'd expect no less from you)
  2. That's KILLER, Chuck. The red is "dead on"....... Very nice work and especially taking time to do the corrections. Did you use the kit decals or the Slixx? I like it !
  3. Main reason the Federal government stopped these recently is because of all the wood they contain. Too bad, used to love to watch the Delta Queen and others on the Mississippi River here in Memphis. Great job on it, HP
  4. Cool capture of an historical moment... Kill Devil Hills/Kitty Hawk, NC is a cool place.
  5. Looks great, Lee. Nice work. Got a Huey on my list to do.....
  6. Mike, On my body the bottom decals (Goodyear, Cragar, Moroso, Cyclone) are on the very bottom edge. On the real car, there is a black valance (sill) panel below these decals. It's there on the CR body, just not enough room to get them in there. I could have moved the blue up some, but didn't think it would look proportionally correct. (The pic I added of the real car shows this) No more progress. Hope to get back on it soon.
  7. Hit a couple Hobby Lobby's today and got these.... $10 each.
  8. Hi Mike, As far as body mods on this Comp Resin body...... Yes, I always grind the edges of the fender wells down to a minimum thickness as needed. Sometimes, it looks too "thick", so I try to make it appear right. I use my motor tool (Dremel) to do this. (Photo by Mike Ditty) Thanks again & good catch, Mike.
  9. WOW....... Awesome response, everyone. Great info, I really appreciate it. Hopefully, I'll be building something soon with a 6 banger in it. (A little change of pace....) Thanks again !
  10. Pretty much looking for a resource. A list would be great, like DZ said. (For me, domestic & THANKS Jim, I'll keep that in mind) Mainly looking for the kits that in-line 6 engines came in. (And also, any 4 cylinder domestic ones) GM, Ford, Chrysler. But imports would be included if we list them. Thanks again
  11. Hope this is posted in the right area.... Trying to determine what kits come/came with in-line 6 cylinder engines. (1/25) (I did a search, but didn't get much on here) Thinking: 1950s 3100 Chevy pickup 1970s Plymouth Duster & Deora had "Slant 6" What else? What Ford kits had them? Thanks everyone!
  12. First off..... Best wishes for your Fiancee and her treatments. Secondly, Mom had a '61 Falcon same colors as your's here, except a 4-door. I think it was the 1st car I ever drove........ Looks great so far, Darin.
  13. Double sweet, John !! I know the K & C guys would be proud. They always had show car quality racers, you did them justice.
  14. Any "new" news on these?
  15. Stopped by the LHS today and I guess they listened to me last week..... They had some new Revell kits that I suggested. They made a sale today because of that....... Picked up the New Revell ChiTown Hustler Charger. Now, I'll have to debate on moving it to the "head of the list".
  16. Another super creation, John. Very unique subject. Your detailing is top notch. Too bad, ol' Dave died in this car.......
  17. Very nice build, Aaron. Great tribute to a long time touring professional. Beautiful job on it.
  18. DZ...... You're welcome. This version (when I saw it in '71) was running B/A(altered) with fuel injection. Had no name on the car then, still Petty blue. The one here has carburetors. Here's the SS&DI mag with article. Maybe it'll be some help.
  19. I saw "one" of the Petty Cudas at Rockingham (NC) in about 1971. It was still Petty blue.
  20. Thanks Chuck........ for doing it right! This is part of why I'm burned out on building older funny cars. You have to recreate it before you can start building it. OK...... say something positive here..... At least we have a starting point. It's looking great so far, Chuck. Looking forward to seeing it finished. Did you you the kit decals or Slixx?
  21. Mark is correct on the location of "the crash". Little boy died, a few others injured. Dallas, Georgia. I have this magazine with a feature on the car. Will try to locate it & post something.
  22. John, Is this the 1/16th scale? I had this one, lost the body in the move across country. Need to get a body to go with my chassis. I'm still a little timid about trying to "weather" a freshly painted model. You do a very nice job of that. Love the slicks especially. Great work as always.
  23. As for Prudhomme decals....... Notta. Seems Mrs. Prudhomme doesn't want that to happen (at least that's what I always heard) Only place I've seen any is here: http://members.optusnet.com.au/pattosplace/home.html (A place in Australia) A few people have made their own Snake decals, but not usually for sale to everyone, unless anyone knows differently. I know there would be a lot of Snake cars built if decals were available.
  24. The wheels you speak of in the Revell kits are Cragar Super Trick wheels. You can get them (& tires) from Comp Resins, also from Slixx. Part # CRC-014 http://www.ecsvr.com/slx/shopdisplayproducts.asp?page=2 The wheels in your picture here are NOT these wheels. They may be Centerlines. Not sure if you can get those in aftermarket.
  25. Nice work on the....... LUMINA. Love the movie.
