  1. Thanks again everyone. Arron, good to hear from you and I have to same respect for your work as well, my friend. Happy Easter, everybody
  2. Really beautiful build, Wayne. Gold is a tough color to do and you nailed it. Awesome photos as well.
  3. Jerry (Luke57) RIP, used the mesh on the outside of automotive air filters. I believe he said he used the one off his pick up truck. That's what I've used and it looks great. Takes a bit to cut it off, but worth the effort.
  4. Thanks for the nice comments, everyone. (OC, I totally understand about the COT) Stoney's decals worked just fine for me. Great guy to deal with. http://members.fotki.com/st0n3y19/about/
  5. Coming along nicely, Charlie. You do some clean work, Man !! Gotta love a Jungle car.
  6. This really turned out great, Mark. I enjoyed (and appreciate) the build-up info & pics. This one's special & cool !!
  7. From the 2009 season. HAAS Automation Impala. AMT NASCAR Impala kit. Added interior details & a few others outside. MM flat black with Tamiya semigloss on top. Tamiya Mica silver on the bottom. Stoney's decals.
  8. The color was "Butterscotch pearl" as mentioned. I used Model Master Grabber Orange on mine. Here's my version of it: (with Chevy engine, 3 hole injector & arm out the window)
  9. Great looking builds everyone. Here's another source for "dirt stuff". http://www.bigdonkeyresin.com/ Larry's a good guy to deal with.....
  10. It's a nice little show, Jim. I usually go, especially for the vendors stuff.
  11. There's an IPMS show in May every year. It's held at Briarcrest School off Poplar and I-240. Usually pretty good attendance for vendors. Mostly aviation/military entries in the show part, but some of everything. Here's the 2011 info. 5/28/2011 Region 3 2011 KING-CON Briarcrest School 6000 Briarcrest Ave Memphis, TN IPMS/Roadwarriors-Memphis Don Moss 901-682-9402
  12. Happy birthday, Wayne. Hope you have a good day there.
  13. Looks very nice, Paul. The colors look like a dead on match. Great build.
  14. Very nice, Tyrone. Those are some super looking PMs.
  15. That is pretty cool......
  16. Thanks for the comments ! Tim, I have some good reference pics of the sleeper. The jury is out on whether to attempt the "character line" or not. I'll be doing good to make the vents...... We'll see. My sleeper is about 18 pieces of Evergreen glued together then shaped with my Dremel and 60 grit sandpaper so far. DZ, It's a resin hauler body that I bought about 3-4 years back, untouched so far. It's similar but different to the old AMT ones. There's several changes.
  17. Looks great so far, Brett. Mine's still in the box...........
  18. I usually don't do much WIP type posts, but we'll see how this goes. (Hopefully, not years... HA !) Here's what I'm aiming for, this type, not necessarily this one. (I'm not a truck builder per se, so any tips will be great) Here's what I have so far: I'm adding the sleeper "option" to it also. Couldn't find one so I made one. Got some of the chassis together and the engine. Will have to stretch the chassis to lengthen the wheelbase for it. It's cold plus I work a lot, so hopefully I can plug along on this one as I get time.
  19. Gonna be a nice one. I like it so far.
  20. Hmmmmmm, Other than family stuff....... the most important. 1. Working on Don Schumacher & Tom Hoover's funny cars in the '70s. 2. The "Ride along" at Texas Motor Speedway with 11 other "Cup" cars in a pack. 3. The "Ride along" at Charlotte Motor Speedway and the only car on the track. 4. Working for a company that was involved in NASCAR racing that was part of my job going to many of the Cup, Busch and modified races. 5. Having my picture made with Linda Vaughan & flying with Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins. 6. Going to breakfast at the hotel in Indy and having the entire room to myself until a very nice man asked if he could join me. His name was Wally Parks, founder of the NHRA. A great breakfast and conversation. 7. Getting General Chuck Yeager's autograph. 8. Seeing an SR-71 in flight. 9. Seeing Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin and especially Stevie Ray Vaughan in concerts. 10. Fishing at the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
  21. Just stripped some chrome. Simple Green wouldn't touch it. Westley's Bleach White (sp) took it off in a couple days. Get it in auto parts stores White plastic bottle, red and blue art work.
  22. Since we're wishing/dreaming....... Both of these. Late '60s Dodge Crew cab hauler Early-mid '70s Chevy or GMC Crew cab pick up.
  23. Pretty nice of the Snake to roll this one out for you to get some good photos of it.......... Spectacular, John !!!
  24. Nothing wrong with this one, Drew. Looks really good. Those GK cars weren't the "best fitting" bodies either. Nice color combo.
  25. One county south of Shelby ! No city taxes, but not really TN.
