  1. His brother, Jackie, posts as "Gator" at a few sites.
  2. Very nice, Steve. Good looking build. RIP, Leroy Goldstein !!!
  3. That really looks cool. Maybe if more of today's funny cars looked like the real car (or A car) I'd be more interested...........
  4. Really nice job on it, Scott. Great way to remember a special time in drag racing history.
  5. Leonard Abbott was Lenco. He had a top fuel car in the late '60s. In the late '60s & early '70s added a funny car driven by his employee "Smokey" Joe Lee. These race cars were in many ways a test bed for the Lenco transmission's developement. By 1970 he was selling his transmissions for nitro cars. The "high gear only" cars had a clutch pedal. (Like Jim Dunn's red Cuda & today's funny cars) The first roof hatch I remember was on the ChiTown Hustler '69/'70 Charger. The required hatches didn't start until the early '80s.
  6. That is really nice work, Fred. I'll just have to say ditto to all the comments above !!
  7. Comp Resins makes them. Here's the Slixx decals link........ http://www.ecsvr.com/slx/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=4&subcat=140&cat=Seats

  12. Great job on the BCC roadster, John. Love anything Pat Foster drove or built. Nice work !!
  13. Cool !! Nice job, Brian. I have the same van body & a couple LRW kits, need to get it done.
  14. In those years, Richard Petty was involved in politics, even was elected to an office (can't remember what, maybe county commisioner??) I think the 1/4 panel says Hogan for Governor or Congress. There was a Hogan that ran for both positions. Thinking Petty was just helping promote the candidate. Cool car.
  15. This is really outstanding work, Chris. I'm gonna go back and re-read all this thread. I like it !!
  16. Thanks for the comments, everyone !! I appreciate it.
  17. Great job on it, Bryan. Very clean work !!

  19. Gonna look great, Bruce. Been wanting to do one of those Torinos myself.
  20. The ol' DF car turned out great, Rob. Guess it was all the wonderful reference photos, huh? (Just saw this........ since my computer has been on the blink a few weeks) Really nice work. What's next ?
  21. Awesome work & definitely unique, John. One of a kinda for sure !
  22. Really nice, Gareth. (And yes, this car was red, yellow & black at times. The blue was the M/T US Marines version for Bob Pickett)
  23. Thanks guys for the nice comments. Jake, I should've taken more pics of the inside. All that detailing is pretty much hidden now. (Blaney did wear a plain white helmet in the pics I have at the 500.) Deron, I cut small strips of masking tape and stick them too a piece of wax paper in the size for the net. Then gently remove from the paper and spray the sticky side 1st, then the non-sticky side which is the side that is folded under. Gives the sticky side more texture. Hope that helps.
  24. Dave Blaney's TBR Impala from this year's Daytona 500. AMT NASCAR snap kit, Tamiya paint, Stoney's & Powerslide decals.
  25. This guy is pretty good with modified builds, but no kits that I know of for current modifieds. http://z8.invisionfree.com/Scale_Racing_Lobby/index.php?showtopic=7733
