  1. Ok, so you're not studying painting/art then.....? Cause you got that nailed !! That looks absolutely fabulous Mike.
  2. AWESOME !! Loving that panel/delivery truck......that is hella kool.
  3. **Still looking for those bowing, we're not worthy smilies**.................................. John, having just stumbled in here myself, (heart palpitations, shortness of breath....I was out cold for several minutes....) I can now say, Tremendous work !! You Sir, have an eye, an eye for incredible builds and detail, that and an amazing gift (talent) are a combo very few possess mate.
  4. Romell, you have excelled once again mate, great work on those brakes. They are a work of art.....
  5. That's a nice start on the fender reshaping Jay. Seen a few get made more "streetable" but don't think I've seen anyone worry about the front fenders...I like where you're heading.
  6. Thank you Richard, Chris, Santiago and Rick. Chris, I was lucky enough to source the belt from a local distributor down here in Aus. PM on the way.... Well, a no pic post to update this week................... But that don't mean I haven't been busy. First up...... Some MAJOR body mods tool place...................... Not real sure how evident this glitch in my work had been, but the tail was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. Yep, lopped an inch off it, a SCALE foot........ LOTS of trimming, reshaping, checking, re-reshaping............but the result will yield a more true representation of what it should be.... Also moved the body backwards on the chassis for better alignment. Only by 5mm......This showed up the next down fall........ When I cut the front off, I used what I thought was the correct front door edge.....well, now the doors are too short. Won't be a hard fix tho. And I have re-aligned (moved) the steering column. It was going to foul on the headers, so it's now 5mm lower in the firewall.... Plus, I have added the extra bar work around the drivers cockpit, the F/C cage part. I think it looks ok......time will tell..... I'll get some pics done as soon as I can, just want to get the new rear looking a bit more finished.
  7. Chuck, those are sooooooooooooooooo rare, Fujimi has placed me as project leader to gather ALL remaining kits worldwide. .... TOTAL recall...................................................... Please forward to the address at the bottom of this post. NOTE: The above is totally false and misleading. Man, I NEVER even knew this kit existed....... How often have you seen them @ the auction place Chuck ? I too would LOVE a copy of the stock body if you end up casting them.
  8. Yes, I guess we're lucky there's no cure for us yet....... Man, the BM versions of Vette are my most favourite, be nice to see a giant one getting built. And yes....I'm hanging around. Heck, the 1/12 Camaro I'm building is gonna take forever......
  9. Nice series of chassis you got going there......Look forward to seeing them progress mate.
  10. Loving the fabrication work on the front and rear Chris. The spindles/hardware up front adds immensely to the realism, and the diff work is fabulous. Keep it up mate.
  11. Aw man....I would give my left nu..... um, arm, for a mill...................... Nice score mate, now show us what ya can do with it. LOVE the shocks too.......awesomeness at it's best.
  12. Thanks so much for the very kind comments guys. Earl, I'm using 3.2mm (1/8) rod and tube for the main rails. The remainder of the smaller bars are 2mm and 2.5mm. The 3.2mm works out to just a tad over 1.5inch @ 1.511. Hope that helps out mate. Mike, Yes...get out that large scale build and jump into it man. Richard, Don't be afraid to jump on in mate....you learn as you go. There's a lot of areas on this that I'm not 100% sure on, but I'm bluffing my way through them....... It's a continual learning curve mate, and I generally find something new to try every time I visit here. Joe, Yeah.....I'm not real good at the "step by step" thing.....usually forget to take progress pics of some major points.... And I'm glad you are finding it beneficial mate. Thanks. Well, this week has been slow......but I did a little......... Fist off, a very welcome parcel arrived from Dave (comp1839) and it was something to save my skin again. Some very very nice blower drive pulleys and an idler pulley... The belt I sourced locally, and the fit is not bad.....may be a tad long, but I have a plan in store for that....... I made a slight mod to the top pulley, removing the aluminium shaft, opting for a plastic shaft which I could easily adapt to the blower snout. I'm half way through making the 3-splined drive for the "starter", as this car wont have an on-board battery system for self-starting... AND.....................it fell in half...........................Ok, not really fell in half, it took some effort actually...... Mounted with small screws, I'm hoping to disguise them as Dzus fasteners....see how that works out later........ And FINALLY.....you get to see how much of the "kit plastic" is NOT going to be left in tact..................................................... The inner guard/fender on the other side is almost completely gone......I had to hog it out of the way to make sure the big boots fitted ok. That brings you up to speed for this week, thanks for looking, and hope you like it. cheers Greg
  13. Derrick, that looks ready to take for a rip up that road...................... Looks very very convincing to me mate, great work.
  14. It's a sickness you know, one that has no cure.................................... Glad to see I'm not alone in my suffering...... Michael, where to start............ First : SUPER work. I'm a lover of the first real Corvette, the 68-69 models. (no disrespect for lovers of ALL Corvettes) I see you let it slip (big hint)....a Phase III ?? Could you possibly be referring to my other passion, a BM produced Supercar.....?? That would be AWESOME ! PS: I love your other builds too, the Cheetah and Cobra, but you stole my heart when I saw a thread for this C3.
  15. Darn....we need some of those "worshipy" smilies........................... TOO KOOL for words Dave, but FANtastic springs to mind....
  16. LOVING the mono-bar set up out back Derrick. And the front end work looks fabulous too mate, shocks, steering all looks pretty spot on from here.
  17. SUPER !! Man, I can't believe you have another of these monsters in the works already Joe.....You are a machine.
  18. ^^ ^^ What Rob said. This is getting better and better Joe. Keep up the GREAT work mate.
  19. Thanks so much Tyrone. Well, between visitors, market wanderings, and power outages.....I got a couple of hours in. On and off............... Second half of the 4-link. Roughed up the first piece, free-hand pen work - straight to plastic. Cut that piece and sandwiched the other 3 together with bolts. Same principal as used for the first set.. Very poor quality pic, sorry.....but you get the idea...... Four identical pieces..... Well......pretty close anyways................... Testing on the axle tubes..... And, at a loose end late this arvo, I just threw it all together roughly to gain an idea of how it's going...... Steering column back in too..... That's all for tonight.....I'm in dire need of sleep........Having relatives here all week has taken it's toll on my sleeping habits....... Thanks guys Greg
  20. Awesome, thanks Dave. Just reading the blurb on their site, this product shows lots of promise, and we've witnessed the results first hand with your work, excellent. Edit... page bookmarked too.
  21. Thanks Richard, Derrick and Romell. Well, the FULL week of quality bench time didn't quite eventuate, but I still managed to sneak away from the family goings on for a while....... First up, a bit of third member fabrication...... Top front mount for the tail-shaft loop...... Testing alignment.................. Also kicked off the 4-link......It will need to be well started to continue the rear frame fabrication...... Re-designed and made a new rack for the steering.....the one I wanted to fit, didn't quite work out. So I'm re-positioning the steering column as well.....Oh well...... Made a gas pedal while still on the inside, plus a lot of the internal bar work has been added..... Well, back to the bench I go.......Thought we were to be without power again today (major line upgrade) but it's still on at present..... So I may get back with more later on this evening.......see how I go. Thanks for stopping by gang, and throw any Q's or critique my way if you wish. cheers Greg
  22. My sentiments too Dave. I feel you have influenced a great many of us here.....specially myself and Romell. Dave, can you shed some light on the brand of the clear top coat..? It sounds very interesting, and I for one, would like to give it a shot..... (ps; LOVE the DSE decal design.....nice work. )
  23. Nice rear you got there Derrick....... Er, not being personal............................ Looking fantastic mate, the rear shocks fit nicely.
  24. Aaaaaaw.............Derrick, this is looking SWEET !!! IF I ever get my Camaro done, I want to try a bike.......Drag bike it is...........................the candle is lit....... Looks absolutely superb mate....
