  6. Geezerman, hummmmm, I don't recall ever seeing a "Crank-Mounted" blower on a V-8 Ford such as you're using. What exactly did you use for a reference?I actually build these engines and I sell parts for the same periodically . The Scott blowers were what we used in the 60's. Even today, an original will set you back a few cents, ha ha ha . I think Speed way automotive is still selling the reproductions . Very interesting build . KOMRAD ED formerly known here as Ed Shaver
  7. Ken I suggested just such a score card years ago to I P M S Richmond Virginia,,, well.....it went over like a LEAD BALLOON! See we used the same systen in the old Southern Van council to judge Show an Shine vans in the 1970's BUT THAT WOULD BE TOO SIMPLE.................... Listen Ken I P M S would be NOwher with out their secretive judging standards! Yours very truly KOMRAD ED formerly known as Ed shaver
  8. Yeah Dave my kids use em and my wife , a nurse can get you some from the nursing home she works at too. KOMRAD ED formerly known as Ed Shaver
  9. Bob you will probably be alright with Krylon. I would stay away from any enamel based finish as any of them will have a photochemical reaction to any paint you choose. Even when I am painting 1-1 cars its not unusual to see such a reaction in the Urethane paints also. KOMRAD ED, formerly known before the election as Ed Shaver
  10. Greg, I believe it will become necessary for me to go to court and change my name to KOMRAD ED. I fear that the name police will send me to a re-education kamp somewhere south of Mexico where I will learn to appreciate the art of basket weaving . This ids because model building might become illegal here in this country. I hope you will send cigarettes and postcards as I forevermore spend what time I have on earth as a political prisoner. Ed Shaver, Komrad Ed
  11. Eelco, look, that dodge was an old Industrio Motive Company kit from 1966. I M C kits were ,even in their day ######. O K ,I said it Heck, they even made some Pyro and Auroura kits look pretty tame even when these companies were still around. Meanwhile Linburg bought the old tools. It is not their fault that the pieces wont fit. The kits that Linburg has done : 61 Impala,66 Malibu, 53 Ford and their Ford Model T's at least will go together well. Linburg takes a bad rapp cause they bought alll of the old I M C -Testors-Union molds. Now this is not to say that Linburg aint put out a few turkeys . One kit that comes to mind would be their 1932 Ford Pick up street rod. I don't think they coulda got that onto the old Ted Mack amateur hour television show. So look gang if in doubt , ask one of the Dinosaur model builders , like me fer instance ! Ed Shaver
  12. You might want to inquire over at Time Machine resins in Tennessee. I met him in Winston Salem and to tell you the truth, I was very impressed with both K- Dog's and Time Machines offerings. K- Dog is a member here give him a hollar cuz he be right on with the racin stuff. Ed Shaver

  24. This is for the exterior pinned doors only: I generally take a piece of 1-16th inch I.D Brass tubing and cut it into alittle less than 1-8th inch pieces. Then, I place two pieces of very fine brass wire inside the tube about maybe an inch long. Then take you're two pieces of wire and bend them in OPPOSITE directions. With a pair of needl nose pliers, , put an"L" in the two pieces at each corner. If you have done this correctly, it will resemble an insects legs. Then take 5 minute epoxy and CAREFULLY glue one side of the hinge to either the door or the body. AFTER the glue has cured, THEN do the same for the oposing part. Anyone not understanding this , please write me at my shop/office 5343 White Pickett La. Richmond Va. 23237 Yes Ill send you DRAWINGS for this procedure! Ed Shaver
  25. Zoom is correct, I have used the Poly-Sbrand of paint remover before on such plastics and Ive not encountered any problems . Ed Shaver
