  1. You could also try the fuel injected 460 from the Monogram '89 F-350 duallie. Probably a tight squeeze, but its just a matter of some plastic massaging.
  2. I like it. I'm not usually into the import scene, and despise the Mustang from Tokyo Drift, but this just looks like it works. NISMO should have built it.
  3. I'm a liitle late to that game, but I'd like to trow my hat into the death ring. I got a few kits for free a while back, some started, some opened and two still sealed. I'm building all of them as street cars, except for this one. Out of all of the kits, this one was the worst, not only the kit itself, but it was also missing pieces, so it'll be a curbside. It' the '70 Chevelle SS454 from AMT. This threat also inspred me to get up and build something as I've been in a bit of a slump. So here are te beginnings of ChevHELLe. All the pars so far were build with scraps of styrene and sprue. Battering ram and bracing Rear armor, or what the movie calls the "Tombstone" An overall shot showing the window armor. I'm not sure what I'm doing for weapons yet, and I still have to plate the doors. Im going to go with a semi clean appearace, depicting a "new" death racer fresh from the prison garage.
  4. For those of you who might not have seen it, check this out... http://ride.deathracemovie.net/ You can deat race your ride, or someone elses for that matter. I played around for about an hour doing up my real F-150. Hopefully its in the gallery by now, probably towards the end.
  5. Looking good, as always, Tim.
  6. I don't think. I was up there with my dad and some friends of ours oogling over the old iron. If you happened to see an18 year old in a Ford Racing t-shirt, that was me. I wasn't expecting tto see your work there, and forgot to ask around. I was really hot that day, perfect show weather. I think i drank about 5 bottles of water. Some of the guys had the right idea, hanging out in Kenworth's drivers lounge with A/C and TV!
  7. These should probably be in the 1:1 section but I think they'll get some more attention here. I would have gotten more pics, but techincal difficulties (aka dead batteries) prevented this. http://s61.photobucket.com/albums/h68/Case...Stanton%202008/ Our members here should recognize these beauties right away, cause I did. Kurt, I knew these trucks looked amazing online, but seeing them in person is a whole new perspective. Once again, great job!
  8. I'll give it a shot. One of my favorite builds and pics, my '67 Mustang with a 390 out of the '67 Galaxie. It also has MRC Keystones wrapped by Firestone Wide Ovals.
  9. Nice trucks as always Tim. Could you explain how you changed the 378 into a 379? When the kit is issued, i want to build a more accurate replica of my dads truck by doing this mod. My first one was built OOB when I was younger but I don't want to rebuild so I can compare the two, and it was my best build with the skills I had at the time.
  10. That is the best DM I've ever seen. I don't think Mack made them this nice.
  11. Around here, lots of steel haulers have side kits. It's easier to cover coils and such with this versus individual tarps. Plus, guys will haul mellons on a backhaul from Florida.
  12. Looks like it was pulled from the hayfield, dropped, lettered, new wheels and tires and called it a day. I like it.
  13. Neat. Now where did I put my '92 shortbed kit?
  14. Lookin good , Kurt. Although this will be the first DM i've seen with polished wheels, I like it. Although when they're painted up nice, spokes don't look bad either.
  15. The drum on the back of the trans is a type of emergeny brake. I think it was Mack's idea of an engine brake before they went to the Dynatard and Jake Brake setups.
  16. Tim did build a beautiful 386,I think he was working on mastering a conversion for the Italeri 377. BTW, welcome to the forum. My dad is also a licensed transporter of bulk commodities and materials (he hauls steel). I'm slowly learning the ropes, but dad says no trucking for me. He told me its a good backup plan, just not a smart career choice since its nothing like 30 years ago when he started. Right now I'm working for one of his friends that has 9 dump trucks. I move them around the yard aand garage and do a little wrenching.
  17. Today I'm posting a little something for everyone. Old tool AMT '57. Added the crossram because I wanted something a little less exotic than the mini blower. As a side not, I think the stance on this car is just so right. '69 Yenko. Two bodies and three paint jobs later, Duplicolor paint and Cady deacls made it work. I'm off Testors enamel forever. Heres what I did with the other kit. Partsbox speed equipment and a roll bar form a '68 Firebird with downbars added.

    Old Mopars

Some Mopars for everyone to see. '69 Daytona. One of my best and favorites to date. And another winger, the 70 Superbird. 71 Charger street machine, circa 74-75. Made it into a 383 with an R/T hood and wing since my decals were ######. Partsbox headers, valve covers and air cleaner. (Yes, I know I left the A/C on it!)
  19. A few more... 95 F-150 Flareside. OOB except for cold air intake and duals. 53 F-100, I restored a built up I got off eBay. I believe it's the trophy series issue. Has resin heads, scartched headers and duals and a blower from an old tool AMT '57 Chevy. That's it for now...
  20. Here a couple of my past Ford builds for those that may not have seen them. Some I've shown before, others I haven't. '67 Stang GT. 390/Toploader from '67 Cyclone. MRC Keystone Klassics and wide ovals. '73 Cougar OOB. Built too look like one my mom used to have. '69 GT500 in Pastel Gray, just to be different. Not too happy with the hood fit on this'un.
  21. Nice truck, I always liked the looks of these. We have an old '78 4300 triaxle at work. It has a Cummins Big Cam III with a 13-spd Eaton Fuller Trans. It ain't much to look at, but mechanically it is a brand new truck. Also as a side note, the 4270 is a short hood, the 4300 has a long one. I'm not sure of the actual dimensions though.
  22. Nice rig, Tim. The only thing I don't like about these new Pete's are those goofy cat-eye headlights. My local PB dealer has this really sharp looking 389 witha lalck on lime green "seminole" paint job. The long frame and 48" bunk give it a real classy look. Throw some old school dual rounds on it, and it just screams old school cool. The big round horns and bullet roof lights just add to the overall effect. I'm just really partial to black and green combos, and this truck is one of my personal faves. Keep up the good work Tim!
  23. Nice work Kurt. It looks like a DM that a local concrete company ran until a few years ago. Now a friend of the family has it and turned it into a water truck. What did you do for the frame? Did you modify the DM800 rails in the mixer kit or stretch the kit rails?
  24. Only two trucks for me. First, my 1970 Mack DM800. Mostly OOB. Next was this '74-ish 359 Rebuilder. Repowered with an 8v-71 Detroit. Three if you count this WIP I started around Thanksgiving. I know its pickup, but those interested can see thw whole WIP up in the on the workbench section. I built more than two models the whole year, most of them just happened to be cars and pickups. 2008 is looking good though. I want to pick up a DM600, A64B, R685ST, and maybe a 377 if I can find one.
  25. Two Toned! I still need to clean up some of the edges, but I'm very satisfied. The 5.8, err 5.0 is looking well at home You can kinda see the scratched tonneau cover I made. For the 1:1 PA winter, I put the fibergalss Leer cap that came with the truck back on. I don't really care for it, because I think it looks like granpaps truck now (no offense to anyone that has a cap or is a grandpap). The tonneau I had on the real thing wouldn't have made the winter due to its age (off of dad's old 89 F-150 he traded in years ago), but I'm going to get a new one in the spring. I still need to take the paint off the prefoiled emblems, make up the 4x4 decals and come up with some kind of silver pinstripes. Anyone have any ideas what I could use to stripe it? I was thinking real auto pinstripe, but its kind of thick and I don't think I could get it near narrow enough. P.S. I got a K&N Filtercharger for Christmas along with a DeeZee satinless tailgate guard. I'll be adding these parts to the model also.
