  1. I know I've posted my F-150 here before, but here it is again. '94 F-150 XLT 4x4, 5.0/Auto 110k. Getting ready for paint now. And the truck that was sacrificed for the '94. '95 F-150 XL 4x2, 4.9/5-spd, 225k. Leaks oil like a sieve and the 4.9 is pretty tired, so that means it still has another 200k left in it! Next up is Gertie, a '94 Cougar XR7 with 49k. 4.6/Auto so it runs like a Mustang of the same era. Handles good and gets 23 MPG. Technically still my grandma's, I'm trying to convince her to just sell it to me. I only use it for commuting to school and back.
  2. A very poor attempt at a Bumpside on R&R's part, but a great piece of work by you, Mr. Most.
  3. I like the primer front end with the purple fog around the edges. It looks like it was "cut in" but the outside hasn't been painted yet.
  4. What LaTroca should've looked like from the beginning!
  5. Very nice, the style reminds me of Trepanier's FastForward Fastback.
  6. I'm with Tim on this one, this is just what a 359 should be. Reminds me alot of my Dad's '87 359 he had before the 2000. Pretty much the same, except his was a teal color and had a 400 Big Cam Cummins and a 13 speed.
  7. I worked on an old 4300 dump truck at my last job. A tired old thing, but it ran like a scalded cat and the a/c would freeze you out of the cab!. The hood and the windsheild mask are fiberglass, the rest is aluminum.
  8. You and you family are in my prayers.
  9. Mark, nothing adds more to a car than the right set of shoes, and I think you nailed it.
  10. I'd say you nailed the stance. Those wheels should look even sharper with some big brakes behind them. Might I suggest some form of LS engine for power. The GM LSx crate engines seem really popular, its modern reliable horsepower within the reach of everyman. The way this car looks is clean and simple, and the powertrain should follow suit, but that just my 2 pennies. I also vote for the spoon on the left, its different without being too over the top. The box art for this kit is just too cool! I love the straight axle under a Camaro idea.
  11. Looking good. Always liked these '80s "shortys". And me being a Ford purist, the correct term is Flareside. Stepside is a Chevy term.
  12. Here are some of my haulers.. '92 F-150 Flareside. Scratchbult cold air intake, dual exhaust, and chassis weathering. '94 F-150 4x4. Still a WIP, it's a replica of my 1:1 daily driver. I modded the kit 351 to look the part of my 302, used some Bronco Parts to make it 4x4 and weahtered the chassis to reflectmy trucks 108,000 miles. '53 F-100 restored from an ebay builtup. I added some resin Edelbrock heads I cast from the revell '40 Ford street rod and the mini blower from an old tool AMT '57 Chevy. '77 F-250 WIP. A replica of my 1:1 project truck, in the family since new. Modified the wheelbase from the camper special 137" to the standard 133" Resin 8-bolt slot mags to match my 1:1 vintage American Racing ones. '64 C-10, rusty but trusty! Heavily weathered, maybe a bit too much. This is from a couple years ago, I like to think I've gotten better at knowing when to stop with the rust and grime. A junkyard smallblock resides in the bed, fodder for the next shadetree hotrod. I've got plenty of other pickups, just need to snag pics.
  13. Neat! Looks like a 1:1 resto in progress.I want to do something like this, and if I ever break down and get an airbrush, I want to shoot the fender gaps and door edges so it looks like its been "jammed".
  14. Ford made plenty of shortbed Supercab trucks. They also share the wheelbase with a standard cab longbed, 133".
  15. I'm happy to see the Bronco again. I need a few of the TTB setups to do a couple 4x4 swaps on some AMT F-150s. I've done it before, and the scale difference wasnt really an issue. Plus, it should be easier to find than the ex MPC '81 Bronco in my neck of the woods.
  16. I figured I had a 50/50 chance on the rear axle. Here, I thought my 1:1 '85 F-250 had the 10.25, but lo and behold it's a Dana 70. I never really looked in depth to thie kit axle, just knew it was some type of HD unit. Either way, an 8.8 for a factory stock replica, 9in otherwise. I believe Ford went to the 8.8 in 84 or 85, but I'm not 100% sure.
  17. Yep, body is the same. The 2WD front suspension is also close enough to work. For the rear, swap out the Dana 60 for a modified Ford 8.8 (Revell foxbody?) and instant F-150.
  18. I'll have to look in my Italeri accesories then! I have 2 from the Can-Do wrecker, along with the 1/2 fenders. Tim, what do I need to do to make the 119? I know you did it to the Bruce Dewey 379. Something about a pie cut section to the hood and lowering the cab. I believe you said the cab needs to come down a scale 2 or 3 inches.
  19. You are correct. I'm planning on getting one or two. I definitley want to do an AMT '92 F-150 with one, and my get the second for an F-250. It's 1/25 scale, but I'm not all that picky.
  20. Nope, dad's is a 119. He wanted an extended hood, but liked the specs on this particular truck, so he compromised andgot the short one. He grew to like it for the tighter turning radius, especially navigating some of the mills he went to, and the streets of downtown Pittsburgh. You can see the slope in the hood fairly well here. This picture was taken in 2000, when the truck was still new. No bumper guides or license plate mount installed yet. This pic is from last year. Showing a little wear, but this is a working truck. The short hood is more evident here with the more rounded grille shell. I'll need to get a set of cab lights from a 377, and track down two more square horns.
  21. This is great news! I've been wanting to build an updated version of my dad's rig for sometime, and now I've got a better starting point. I was unaware the old issue had a Freightliner sleeper. My first version of my dads truck isn't all that accurate except for paint, but with this I'll be able to do it justice. Tim, don't you have a procedure for converting this into a 379-119? That's what my dads truck is. The last time I built it, I did it OOB due to my limited skills, but I think I've got what it takes to pull it off now. I'll also need to shorten the sleeper down to a 48" unibilt to complete the conversion.
  22. Sorry about the hijack...my bad. Just though i'd chime in on the 4 door debate. I'm really liking the build too. I remember seeing the rendering in Custom Classic trucks, and always liked it.
  23. Another build option is do it up a single cab 4x2, Custom trim and a 300 I-6 backed by a 5 speed manual. A friend of my dad's had one just like this, but his was 4x4. Yep, you heard right, an F-250 4x4 with a SIX!
  24. Close, but not quite. Ford started to offer a factory 4 door in '65. The supercab came along in '74.
