  1. Thanks again everyone! Thanks Ron. Do you plan to restore it? Let me know if you want t-top panels. I have no use for mine. I would give you my CE decals, but I don`t have them anymore.
  2. A very small brush, and squinty eyes.
  3. Thanks Harry. Yeah, I need to paint the hinge buttons. I also need to add the license plate, which I still have to make. The kit itself was an `82, hence the opening hatch. But I really didn`t like the clear hatch that came withe 78 on this car, so I went with the `82. Inaccurate I guess, but I think it looks better. The 1:1 car is an `81, which is why I didn`t use the crossfire engine. Here is the inspiration: http://www.vetteweb.com/features/vemp_1202_1981_corvette_coupes_alpha_and_omega/
  4. Finished this one up today guys. This is supposed to represent the "Alpha" car, which was the first Corvette produced in the current Bowling Green Kentucky plant. So again, this was started with combining the 1/8 scale `78 and `82 Corvette kits. The wheels, engine, and interior are from the `78, the rest is from the `81. This was a weird build. Some of the details, like the super detailed starter and having separate "bands" for the fan belts, seem to be an attempt to make this a nicely detailed state-of-the-art kit. But then, the interior bucket included the seats, console, and door panels were all molded as one piece. Likewise, the intake manifold and carburetor was all one big blocky piece. I only added limited details on this one as the kit was very basic to begin with, and many of the parts were obviously out of scale. This kit builds up nicely, but it is nowhere near the complexity and accuracy of the big Camaro and `67 Corvette kits. I plan to make a mold of the wheels and use what is left of the `78 kit to build a pace car version. Let me know what you think!
  5. Really waiting on that `68 Firebird to see what parts are included with it.
  6. You turned that paint job up to 11!!! Nice job!!
  7. Just about finished the interior. It`s hard to believe a kit this big is so lacking in detail. The door panels, seat bottoms, and interior bucket are all one piece, and the door panel detail is very light. I really didn`t pick much out on them because the details are so shallow. The steering wheel is waaaayyyyy out of scale. Otherwise, the dash and console details aren`t to bad. I just need to add seat belts and then I am finished with the interior.
  8. Thanks everyone! Unless someone was very determined to pull off an exact copy of my work, it looks like the buyer of this one is trying to sell it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-12-1-12-Revell-Monogram-1969-Chevrolet-Camaro-Z28-Crossram-DZ-302-/120980103930?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c2af9e2fa
  9. Thanks again guys! As soon as they make it available in a spray. Actually, I was debating trying a Rallye Green one, since that is available. It`s hard to believe they had so many metallic green shades available in that year. I was also debating doing a brown one, which would really be different.
  10. Thanks everyone! From memory, I think it was the Revell snap kit. The body was bright green, and it had silver stripes and custom wheels on the front. It was a very nice body, much better than the glue kit, IMO.
  11. I was searching through my past posts, and didn`t see a thread on this one, so I thought I would share it with everyone. Some of you guys may have seen this one on other boards. This is an older build, about 7 or 8 years old from memory. I think this is the first one I started putting period correct license/registration/inspection and window stickers on. I think it had all the chalk markings as well. The color is Testors Model Master Custom Lacquer Fathom Green Metallic.
  12. For those of you who are or will be building one of these and want to do something different with the interior, here it is in red and white from a couple others I built:
  13. I see how that could upset some people. I`ll hold off for now. Here is the interior: Dash and console: Another shot of the engine in progress:
  14. Thanks everyone! The kit is a great kit, as is the Corvette kit. I`ve been searching through my pics, and I have alot of interior and engine pics of all my 1/12 scale builds. I`ve been debating this, but maybe I will just put them all in one thread? I know there are a few here that I`ve never posted on this board.
  15. Sounds really interesting. I am looking forward to seeing pics. I built one of these in green a looooong time ago, but I guess mine was incorrect cause I used the black seats with the white stripes. The only suggestion I would have would be to consider using the rims from the Camaro kit. Let me know if you have any questions. I have built over 10 of these over the past 20 years, and have a couple more kits to be built.
  16. Very nice! Love the blue color and the Monte/Camaro wheels.
  17. Thanks Ron. If you happen to need the t-top panels, I doubt I will use them and would gladly mail them to you. I am laughing at some of the details on this kit (very spartan!). It has real rubber hoses and tires which are nice, but then the molded the whole interior bucket, center console, door panels, and seats as 1 piece!! And the engine doesn`t even have a distributor! We have come such a long way over the years. You saw my orginal post about how I found this kit at a local hobby store? It was right down your way, in Hunt Valley Md. I just couldn`t believe it when I saw it. The last time I saw one on the shelves was back in like `85 or `86 or something like that.
  18. Very nice!! And nice color choices!
  19. Ok guys...here is where I am going with this one. This will be one of the Alpha-Omega cars. This will be the Alpha one, the first one built in the Bowling Green Kentucky plant. I had a really hard time matching the Dark Bronze color, and it is a little more brown than I like. In the sunlight, it does have slightly more red tint to it than in this pic.
  20. Thanks guys. Just meant everyone`s builds here are just off the chain! Great work!! From memory, that was Mica Red followed by several coats of Duplicolor Red Metalcast, and about 5 coats of Duplicolor clear.
  21. Wow. Really nice ones in this thread...I`m hesitant to post mine. But here it is. Very mild custom (only changed the wheels and exhaust).
  22. It`s the Revell kit. I was very pleased with it. In fact, it has much better detail than the 1/8 kit I am currently working on.
  23. Sorry this is taking so long guys. I am working on this, but the paint is taking much longer than expected. I think I picked the most complex color scheme available for this year.
