  1. Thanks everyone! Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I am trying to replicate cloth though, and not leather.
  2. Nice work Ray. So you didn`t have any major issues building this kit? I have it here and am hoping to start it soon. This is a pretty rare kit. What was it like driving the 1:1 when you had it? I always thought the C3`s looked like fun to drive with those huge swells in the front fenders.
  3. Niiiiiicccee! I can`t wait to see it finished!
  4. All finished, except for the door decals. I`m not sure what I`m going to do about them yet. This was another rushed project, so it is box stock except for ignition and fuel injector wires, and some detail added to the throttle body. I bought this one used off stealbay, and it had a cracked windshield and body, and I`m not sure what he was planning to do with the AC detail at the firewall but it has a huge hole in it. The wheels were also a little rough. All this is part of the reason I didn`t take too much time on it. I have 2 more of these kits though, and I am planning to take a little more time on them. Let`s see...paint is duplicolor again, probably about 6 coats of color, and 7-8 coats of clear all rubbed out using my normal process. Overall, this was a pretty nice kit especially given it`s age. It is much more accurate and detailed than the big Corvette kit, IMO. It went together pretty well too.
  5. Excellent! Love the color!
  6. Something else to think about, it`s been a few years since I watched the show, but I am assuming Chip still does his rendering near the beginning of the show, and then at some point shows the drawing to the camera and says: "Hi Napoleon (or whomever), here is your AMC Pacer (or whatever)." At the reveal at the end, is anyone objecting and saying ".....oh no...that`s not what was in the picture Chip!" And they have more at stake then the $17-$20 being paid for a kit.
  7. I have to agree with this. I remember buying my first kit at the age of 8, which was an `83 Trans Am annual kit. I remember looking at the sides to see what was in it. And I know as I continued building throughout my childhood, I would always look at the side. I always wanted to see what was included in the box. I also have a child now that, when she sees stuff in the store that she wants, she will examine the box until we pry her away from it. And, in the case of a child, they will probably be accompanied buy an adult who will want to know what their kid is getting. I also think if someone is willing to make a purchase based on a cursory examination of just the box cover, I doubt they are going to be that concerned it if rides a little high, or doesn`t have the correct interior or engine. Ditto for a child who is excited by the box art only...they will probably want it regardless just because it is a Foose "looking" car. I remember how many of those lousy, warped, dis-proportioned, inaccurate MPC Knight Rider kits I loved. Remember the "mudder" tire tread on those things?? But I think alot of us loved them back then because it was "KITT." Yes, I`ve purchased many AMT kits. :D
  8. Not sure if this helps camarofreak, but every now and then I see this kit come up on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/...1-/140667097140
  9. That is really nice!! And different! Where did you get the wheels?
  10. Very nice! I always preferred these in white as opposed to yellow. Where did you get the shabo lettering, and are they decals or dry transfers?
  11. Sorry guys, it is actually an `83 that I have. I`ll post pics below. I posted pictures of the body cause I thought it was interesting that the engine bay and inner fenders are molded as a separate piece.....and this is a snap kit!
  12. So this thread is over two weeks old now, and I have yet to see it anywhere here...Hobby Lobbies, LHS`s, AC Moore, Michaels, department stores...all no luck. I have some thoughts on this kit, but would like to withhold them until I actually get my hands on one. Anyone in the PA/MD area seeing these anywhere?
  13. Yep, I have one here somewhere. I`ll see if I can find it and snap a pic. I like the front end on this one much better than the `85 (the `82 has the "Camaro" lettering in the front center and the two fog lights on either side) , and it looks as though it will build up pretty convincingly for a Snap kit.
  14. Very nice work!
  15. Good points. We need to keep in mind too that the 209 mph on the timeslip is not it`s top speed, but it`s speed at the end of the quarter mile, in which it only takes just over six and a half seconds to get there! Guarantee even with it`s current gearing, give it another 4 or 5 seconds and it will be going much faster than 209 mph. Not to mention if he was willing to gear to match the Veyron`s quarter mile times, the top speed would be *well* over the Veyron`s.
  16. Not that anyone is actively looking for this kit (judging from the comments in this thread ), but are you guys seeing this kit on shelves? I have been to all the Hobby Lobby`s, Michaels, and a few other places close by and haven`t seen a single one yet. I saw they have a slot on the shelves labeled for it in Hobby Lobby, but the ones I`ve been to must be sold out before I get to them.
  17. Not much to add that hasn`t already been said, except it is hard to believe we have a *completely* new tool from a subject that was already kitted twice before. Unless my eyes deceive me, even the wheels are new? Nice too see Revell put all that effort into getting it right. Can`t wait to get my hands on a few.
  18. I read an article on one of these cars years back. The owner was offered over a $million and turned it down!
  19. Sorry for the wait guys. I am still getting situated after being gone for a week. Here are the photos that I took back in 2011:
  20. Yeah I guess I am a bit partial. Here are a few more "not chevies."
  21. I just got back from the Ocean City cruise weekend in Maryland. For those of you unfamiliar with it, over this weekend, thousands of cars from all over the east coast show up to cruise the coastal highway. There are cars on display and cruising for most of the 140+ blocks to the end of town. Most of these pics were taken about 120 blocks from the main inlet and car show. On Saturday night, all 4 lanes of the highway were stop and go all the way to the inlet. Just about everything you can think of shows up here....Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, Mopars, exotics, street rods, muscle cars... If you are lacking inspiration in your building, a weekend here will definitely give you plenty of ideas.
  22. This guy usually stays here where I stay for the ocean city cruise weekend. This explains why I am not seeing it here this year. In person, this car just looks insane, and yes, it is LOUD. He does drive it up and down coastal highway, so it is streetable. I will see if I can find out who did the paint. Ill also try To upload some of the pics I have of it once I get home. The owner was telling me alot about the car and was really pleasant To talk To.
  23. That`s what I was thinking. Those wheels on the box just look.....weird. Unless it`s just the shape of the box, the angle of the wheels and some of the shading makes it looks like they might have been added after the fact. I meant to try to pick on of these up this week, but were already sold out locally when I went to check.
  24. For those who were looking, I am seeing the Foose Firebird showing up on Ebay as "In Stock", and am also seeing it on some online hobby stores.
