  1. Very nice trio!
  2. Very nice work on all of them! I really like that `cuda with the unique color choice!
  3. I need sunglasses for that 4th pic. Nice work! Can`t wait to see this one finished!
  4. Cool stuff. What wheels are on the green Corvette?
  5. Thanks everyone! Thanks Brodie. It sounds like you got a good buy. I wish they would re-release some of these old big 1/8 kits.
  6. Great work! It looks like a 1:1!
  7. Fantastic work!!!
  8. Interesting responses. I can say, for every one of my now over a couple hundred kits, I`ve had specific plans for every one of them. I can look at my stacks of boxes, and remember exactly what I wanted to do with each one of them. I just don`t have time to finish them. I just checked my kitchen cupboards (yes, my wife puts up with alot!!) and I have 15 painted bodies.
  9. I think I just heard the sound of hobby knives of abdicating builders dropping to the table.
  10. Yes!! Very nice! Pleeeaaase let me know where you got those rims. I wanted to do this to one of the kits I have.
  11. Thanks Anthony! This is the Monogram/Revell kit last issued about 5-6 years ago (I think). Usually, there are a few posted on Ebay at any given time.
  12. Thanks guys. I bought the Plastruct 1/100 scale, which I guess is "HO" scale, before reading your posts. Man, even this stuff is just a bit too big. I think I may be able to use it, but it is just a little too big for the details I had in mind.
  13. Here are a few pictures of my Firehawk. It is number 350 (I think), and one of 39 made in white. It is the 5th Firehawk I owned. LS6 cam, head work, full exhaust w/cats (still sounds stock!!) and should do high 11`s in the quarter. That is, with a decent driver (not me). And here is a project I am working on. It will have the digital dash, carmine and graphite interior, and an LS1/T56 combo, which should be a little over 500hp: Aaaaaaannnnnddd...I hope she doesn`t mind me posting this, but here is my wife`s car. It is one of 89 in Bright Purple Metallic. Only mod is an LS6 cam. We drove 7 hours to get this one:
  14. Very nice!! That is just like the `94 `hawk I had, except for the wheels (mine still had the stock ROH). What number is yours? Mine was 312, hence my user name.
  15. Thanks Ken! They are actually just the kit molded in clamps painted silver.
  16. I`ve built dozens of 1/12 Corvettes and Camaros. You can search for threads that I started and see a handful of them. Also have some 1/8 scale stuff on here too.
  17. Oh man, you weren`t kidding Dan. I went with the 1/48 scale sheet, and the tread is WAAAYYY too big. It`s atleast twice as big as it should be. Some of the details I have planned wont work with it, so I guess I am going to get the 1/87 sheets too. Thanks for the heads up!
  18. I have quite a bit of experience with this, as I have sent quite a few of my 1/12 builds all over the world. I am on the east coast and I have shipped at least 3 or 4 to California. What I have found works for me is finding a secure location under the car, a place that is solid and can easily support the weight of the entire car, and firmly fasten it to some kind of base that is strong and will not move around inside the box. For my Corvettes, I wrapped some pretty hefty wire around certain areas of the frame and secured them. I then wrapped the entire car in lots of TP(wont scratch) and then filling the box up to the top with bubble wrap, making sure the box is completely filled with bubble wrap not giving the model a chance to move. Also, before putting the car and base in the box, you will probably want to put several layers of bubble wrap in the box where the base will sit. The point is to keep any bump or vibration to transfer directly to the base/car. Once the box is sealed, I take another larger box, fill it with packing peanuts until there is about 3" of peanuts at the bottom, and put the box with the model inside, and then fill the larger box with more peanuts around the sides and top. Then seal the larger box and ship. All that said, some times it seems no matter how you pack it, they will find some way to destroy it. I swear some of mine were thrown on the floor, run over by a forklift, and then flew out the back of the truck in transit. I received a couple of my models back in a box of loose parts. I will say though, my last 5-6 went out and there were no issues at all, and the last 3 went coast to coast. I went with USPS for shipping because their prices were cheaper at the time, and I never had anything damaged through them, if you can believe that! Good luck!
  19. I`ll second that!! Thanks Gregg, and everyone who participates. Though I have been here a while now, I had been an active part of other communities before coming here. I rarely contribute to those forums anymore. It seems like there is a lot more passion here...people who really like this hobby. And the layout is so much cleaner and easier to use. At any time, I will have at least 5 tabs open that are pointing to some area of the modelcarsmag forum!
  20. Thanks for the help guys!
  21. Have any of you guys found a source for accurate diamond plate for 1/24th or 1/25 scale? I know there is the plastruct "double-diamond" plate, but I`m not sure if that is accurate to scale, and would really prefer the single diamond plate. Thanks!
  22. Very nice! Where did you get those wheels? It reminds me alot of the dragsters I remember from the `80s.
  23. I think that looks great!! I really like the white stripes. I dont think I would like it as much with black stripes. I really like the body color choice. Is that pewter? Silver?
