  1. Has anyone seen this kit at Hobby Lobby yet? I was at mine tonight, and am still not seeing this or the new Camaro kit yet.
  2. Has anyone seen this at Hobby Lobby yet?
  3. Nice! The Jada Cobra, was it 1/24 scale? Thanks
  4. Like slusher said, the `69 Camaro should be available soon. My 2010 Shelby Mustang went together *very* easy, but Im not sure if the subject is ready for rusty beater treatment yet. Im also a "rattle canner", for life at this point. Only used an airbrush a couple time in the early 90`s.
  5. Very nice! I thought I recognized those tires, Looking forward to seeing what you can do with this kit Marcos!
  6. Oohhhhh nice! Where did you get those tires? They look like the chief`s.
  7. Here is the in the in progress thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46650&hl=mustang and here is the completed thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52347&hl=mustang
  8. I`m not sure what level you are planning to build this kit to, but I built the Shelby version of this kit for a customer, and the body gave me fits. From memory, I had to glue the doors in place and use alot of putty and sanding to get the body lines straight. I also had to do a lot of cutting and sanding to get the bottom of the rear fenders to a convincing shape...they have a very slab-sided look to them built up out of the box. The front A pillars are also very fragile, so it might not be a bad idea to strengthen that area with some strip styrene or something. I think I have an in progress thread here somewhere.....
  9. I think that looks great! Do you happen to know if the candy overcoat you used was lacquer or enamel? Thanks!
  10. Both of these look great! Where did you get those wheels?
  11. And here is the base model. Sorry, couldn`t resist.
  12. My thoughts too. Hopefully it means they are so excited building their`s that we wont see them until they are in the "Under Glass" section. I am in the "waiting to see if I get it for Christmas" camp before getting mine.
  13. Thanks again everyone! Email sent Matt.
  14. Thanks again everyone! Thanks! Oh man. I remember back like 10-15 years ago when I used to participate in the contests at the York Fair, there would always be someone there asking me to come to the Saturday night meetings. I always told them I would make it but never did. Do you guys still meet on Saturday nights at the firehall? You guys had a nice display at Muscle Car Madness!
  15. Thanks Doc! Yeah, for what I wanted to do. I didn`t have the photo-etched belt buckles I thought I had (thats why there are no buckles on the belts) and I totally skipped the firewall detail I was planning on doing. And I had no reference pics for any of the detail in the back, so I pretty much left that go. I am on to the Fram top fuel dragster now. That should be a little more detailed. Thanks.
  16. Oh, and btw, this was my first time using Testor`s "One Coat" lacquer. It goes on really thick, but the results were very nice, IMO. I think I only used 3 coats of clear, and didnt have any trouble sanding through when I wet-sanded and buffed it out.
  17. Thanks everyone! Thanks! I used electric hookup wire with a very thin strand of wired wrapped around it, and then painted flat black.
  18. Some chassis pics:
  19. Built this one using the Summit Firebird Pro Stock kit. I was trying to build this one quickly to try to get to other projects, so I only added minimal detail to this. Also, if any of you have a spare set of wheelie bars for this kit, I would be interested in them. I managed to break one of them, and had to steal from another kit.
  20. Wow. This is looking very good. Very good. I would imagine for many of us, this kit will be a must have!
  21. Thanks again everyone! I used Duplicolor clear from the can, about 6-7 coats from memory. Thanks!
  22. Very nice. Great work! That picture of it on the trailer is really cool.
  23. Low, are those the 23"? The 20" would be nice for a project i have in mind.
  24. Thanks Mike. Next time I will actually look at the title. Doh!
  25. Looks like a great start! What scale are you working in?
