I stopped in a local store here, and they have them for buy one, get one at half off (not free). I am in PA, so I`m not sure if it`s different in other locations. I have had pretty decent results with Duplicolor. I`ll also second what the others have sad about testing on sprue.

Yes, thanks for the tip Jim! If anyone happens to be near York, PA, don`t bother going to Advance Auto to get Duplicolor clear coat after tomorrow, as I will have all the stores picked out! :D

I`m not sure if you are considering something a little older, like a 2001-2002? Have you considered the LS1 Fbodies (Z-28, Trans Am)? They should be right in your price range, and what is surprising is if you get them with the six-speed, 30 mpg on the highway shouldnt be too difficult, even with the basic bolt-on mods. Plus you will have 350+hp at your disposal. :-) My 2001 Firehawk has 425+hp at the crank (have cam and heads). My brother managed to get 28mpg combined on a 5 hour trip with it!

Thanks again everyone! If you can swing the price of the kit, it is definitely worth it, IMO. I managed to get one of mine back when you could find it on the shelves for $50 or so about 10 years ago.

If you can believe this, they did something similar in the late 70`s/early 80`s. Well, Monogram anyway. I remember my parents picked up a Pepsi Challenger kit for me at Pathmark way back when. Pep Boys has the best selection of Dupli Color paints by far around here, nearly twice the variety of Autozone/Advance Auto/etc for those who are interested.

You guys that are having trouble, are you able to right click on the link and click "Save Link As" and download it? Is it just me, or does this years catalog seem pretty extensive? Just seems like there is alot this year. Also, I am seeing the "Enter before May 15th" for the championships. I am assuming this is just so it is in the catalog, and not because they might be starting it earlier this year? I haven`t seen anything on the 2013 contest yet.

I built this one years ago, so I can`t say for certain, but I usually print out a period correct PA license plate for these. The inspection sticker was a scan and print of either a `69 or `70 PA state inspection sticker from memory.
