  1. This is the Monogram kit, originally issued in `85 or `86. I don`t remember seeing them on the shelves back them, so I think it was a pretty rare kit. See first post for pics.
  2. See first post for pics.

Excellent! I like the tach on the dash and the air cleaner. What did you use to paint the body?
  4. Thanks again everyone! Yeah, I actually dropped the front about 2 scale inches, and the rear just a little. Also, I`m not sure if anyone noticed, but I didn`t use the kit tires. I used the tires from the GTA kit. They were a little wide, but the diameter was more accurate IMO. And the rims fit in them perfectly.
  5. I had to check the USGS site after reading this. That seems really unusual for that area. I remember last year when we had the 5.9 in Virginia. I was in Baltimore at the time, and the whole building was rumbling and shaking...something I had never experienced before. Since then, I check the USGS site on a regular basis. Earthquakes happening in alot of strange places recently.
  6. Im sure Im not going to surprise anyone by putting these three up. All of them are nice (big!!) kits in themselves. But they all can be built three different ways, and the race/drag parts are all different in each kit. Combining all of them, you have Cragars and Centerlines, white walls and red lines, slicks and skinny stockers, blowers and hi-rise intakes, big block and small block engines, etc.
  7. Thanks again everyone! Wow, that is incredible! Oh no, you`ve given me inspiration for yet another project! How long did it take you to build that?
  8. Thanks again everyone! Sorry Cato, I missed your response... For this one, because it was so small with lots of curves, I didn`t guide coat this like I do sometimes with the big ones. From memory, I just used a few coats of Duplicolor grey primer, then sanded and sprayed the base red, and then masked and painted the gold stripes. Then I applied 5-6 coats of clear. I do sand the clear, starting with 1500 and moving up to 3000, followed by several grades of compounds. I have a good bit of detail on my process in MCM issue 150.
  9. Thanks everyone! From memory, I built this one using the Baldwin Motion Drag Cobra kit from way back when. Thanks. The stripes were masked and painted, and then clear coated.
  10. Thanks everyone! Thanks Brodie! Which 1/16th kit do you have? Yeah, I am thinking all of them are 1/24.
  11. LOL! It`s killing me too. Oh, for more time...... Hopefully I`ll have some progress pics for you guys soon.
  12. This is a really old build, almost 10 years old. But I had it out of the case to get pictures, so I thought I would share them with everyone. I can`t remember a whole lot about this build, but it is still one of my favorites. From memory, the paint is duplicolor.
  13. I posted this one a while back, but I had to get some pictures of it today, and I thought I would share them since the previous pictures weren`t that great. Anyway, this another typical build for me...period correct inspection sticker, window sticker reduced and printed from a real `69 window sticker, chalk markings, brake lines, etc. It`s hard to choose, but I think this is my favorite color scheme for this car.
  14. Thanks guys! I`ve been distracted from this project, but I should be posting updates in the near future. It is nearly complete now.
  15. Very nice! I really like what you did with the wheels.
  16. Thanks everyone!
  17. Thanks Casey! I cant snap a pic of all of them together because the weather isn`t cooperating here. But I can post pics of each of them. Here you go:
  18. Thanks guys! Haha, yeah, he was in gray primer though. I forget exactly what happened to him. What was funny though was, while he was in gray primer in the garage, Michael (David Hasslehoff) held up a spray gun and said something to the effect of "the finishing touch." He then proceeds to start painting KITT black, no paint mask, no masking the windows, etc.
  19. Yes, an `83 Trans Am...no laughing This was a really quick build (again). Sorry I dont have more pics. My camera is really bad at capturing light colored cars fro some reason. This was the kit that started it all for me, almost 30 years ago. It was fun to build, and brought back lots of memories...
  20. You don`t mean the bigs and littles from the 66 Malibu kit?
  21. Thanks Luna, but I`m cheating a little bit here. It is 1/8 scale.
  22. I learned absolutely nothing this year. That`s what old age and 30 years of building will get you. :D Seriously though, I was with you Dr. C...I all but gave up on dremel polishing, as I always thought it spun way to fast to polish out a paint finish. Given the amount of time it takes me to polish a finish, I am going to have to look into it again. I finished a total of 3 builds this year (woohoo). Hopefully I`ll be able to get more in next year.

    1970 Buick GSX

    Very, very, nice!
  24. That is crazy! Nice work! He doesn`t need any steering mechanisms. There is no way he is doing anything except going in a straight line with that!! :D
  25. Thanks Jonathan. Yeah, I am thinking maybe only the front is just a little bit high, comparing it to the pictures of the 1:1. I tried dropping down the front with my kit, which was really easy. Basically you just have to modify the posts where the lower a-arm sub-assembly mounts, and I think you have to shave a little off the bottom of the body where it meets this sub-assembly. This is all from memory so there might be a couple other little things, but I know it only took me 5-10 minutes. I ended up taking a little too much off and now the tires are up into the fender. I do think that it looks much better in person though. For some reason, even in my pics, the rims appear to be shallower than they really are. I think they would look good on a lot of muscle car kits for a "pro-touring" look.
