Fireball Modelworks still in business' ?
Hawk312 replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Same experience here. Just got my order in decent time. -
I used this kit to build an IROC using the Pegasus wheels. The tires are from a 98 Corvette kit, IIRC.
-
I hate to say it, and I will still buy a couple of these kits, but those sidewalls look too tall.
-
This kit appears to be based off the original ā83 Monogram kit, that was then updated, IMO unfortunately, to the 85 āEā Camaro. I always thought the 83 kit looked very convincing. The decal set is great with the new kit! You could probably build just about every color combo.

Thanks! The shifter was fabricated and the kit center console was modified since it was originally a manual console. The steering wheel, windshield wiper motor detail, and the pace car decals came from the AMT kit. The headlight switch just to the left of the steering wheel was made from scratch pieces, as was the coolant overflow tank. Lots of other stuff done... I canāt remember it all.

Thanks guys! If the weather ever cooperates around here, I`ll get out and get better pictures.

This one took me 3.5 years to complete. This was easily the most difficult engine I have ever had to work with. It was tricky to mock everything up and align everything above and below the engine (exhaust to the turbo, intercooler, etc) and add additional detail. Lots of details/added changed on this one. I had some fun with the image editor on the first pic. '

Just made an interesting observation that I missed at first. There is no chrome tree in this kit. Even the wheels and side mirrors are gray plastic. Not at all a big deal to me as there was no chrome on the real car. Also, I was a little puzzled at first by the two sets of gauges that appear to be the same except for color. Having owned a real 1:1 of this exact car, I can tell you that the top set appear to be ānight timeā driving colors (the real carās gauges light up orange at night) and the bottom would be daytime driving.

I havent heard anything, but I am hoping it isn't far behind. Its challenging and has similar inaccuracies, but builds up convincing.

Got mine today as a gift. Needless to say, pretty excited. It does appear that this is a straight reissue, but in light gray plastic and a much expanded, very nice decal sheet! That means the rear bumper, valve covers, muffler, console area, and door panels will need to be corrected to be accurate. But otherwise, very nice kit!

Has anyone seen the Charger anywhere yet? Really liking that one, and I see HPI guys already have their hands on one.

Never Say Never about old kits. "New Era Modeling"
Hawk312 replied to stavanzer's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Just curious...what kind of subjects would you like to see? I am still hopeful to someday see a Firehawk in 1/25 scale, or some of the new Challenger models. -
Ugg. Hate to be a Debbie Downer but those sidewalls on the kit tires look really tall to my eyes, compared to the box art and other pictures I`ve seen of the 1:1 car. What do you guys think? The rest of it looks incredible. I`ll definitely get at least one of these.

WOW! That looks great!

1/24 Revell '79 ('81?) Chevrolet Camaro Z/28
Hawk312 replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I`ll be getting one too. Not too many options if you want to build an `81 Z28. I can get real tires from another kit in the stash. -
AMT 1/25 2020/21/22 Dodge Charger R/T
Hawk312 replied to Jordan White's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Where can you get the wheels and tires? -
WHEN? Also, I hope the wheels and tires look like that (correct proportions). Remember the truck tires on the Revell Challenger...

Anyone know where the ā85 Camaro and the 1/16 Firebird GTA kits are?

AMT 1/25 2020/21/22 Dodge Charger R/T
Hawk312 replied to Jordan White's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Any word on this one? Will it be out soon enough for Christmas? -
I am hoping this one, or one that allows a factory stock build. Some of the kits in the 78-81 timeline have some horrendous body packages IMO...
-
??? Ok then. This is a must have! Hopefully it makes it out by Christmas.
