  1. i've always been a fan of two tone rims, like the gunmetals spokes with a polished lip. also, on compeltly white cars you might be able to pull of a exotic colour like a hot pink or neon green if i were you, i would do a mock up and take a picture of it. then you can photoshop (or use the paint program) to try different options out
  2. i have a set of decals laying around form a bike a build a while ago which i have been saving for the day i'll build my first lowrider (which i hope will never come, to be honoust, i despise the darn things) long story short, if you are interested let me know and ill take a picture of it. i think its a black striping with some cards or something
  3. i like it i actually read your post in the "under glass" section and decided to follow you here im not sure why it didnt get any responses there. its a nice looking model and the driverside front tire shows that you dont just build the model, you actually build the story behind it . keep at it
  4. not a cleu on the peroid correct awnser but as far as wires goes, i would do mostly yellow and one or two black, make it look like someone was forced to replace one or two
  5. lol, i was expecting something of that order just thought it be funny
  6. not trying to burst your bubble but...i think your paint is just a shade of il be watching progres on this one i like the movie inspired builds
  7. i might have a tough time beatin the GT-R of the line but i have a charger with just about the right amount of bras knuckle grease that would be up for a brall with it maybe a nice idea for a build off american mucles in a import body no holds barred
  8. that is defintly a nice looking import i think i mya have finally found a decent competator to race my ford focus SVT (yes that is a 572 ford hemi peeking through the hood)
  9. that jetta is sweet you dont see the extended hoods here in the US that often, is it a weld on or fiberglass ? love the airdam too. this is my dub, 03 passat turbo flashed to run 15 PSI
  10. darn i was close lol bigger then waterfest ? so i take it your into the dubs ? got one yourself too or just an admirer?
  11. thats a nice looking krautburner you got there any engine shots ? also, just out of couriosiy, why the swiss plates ?
  12. this thread is so old, if he was 12 when he first posted it he is probably older then you by now
  13. i think ive posted before but things have changed still the 03 passat 1.8 turbo but this time i have the ECU reflashed to run 18 PSI should be at 210 horsies
  14. finally piched her up today im very excited about the tools and stuff but a little bit disapointed in the size sooooooo i am going to completly scavenge this kit and just build my own base for it (floor and 2 walls) using the tools, door and window from the kit this might take a while because i get the keys to my house today so im gonna be swamped the next few weeks
  15. awesome part of the reason i choose this kit is because of all the tols included cant wait to get started on it that wall you have looks nice, is it styrene ?
  16. im so excited i just recieved news from the inlaws the kit has arived in the mail will be a few days before i can actually build it
  17. very nice looking build the DTM is by for my most favorite class (well, DTM or WRX) and that is a nice looking model y got there i have the opel astra on my wishlist i bet you had fun putting all those little decals on nice job
  18. that looks awesome mike that is pretty much waht i am gettting at i figured this kit is a good start, partially because it has soo much tools and stuff to go with it im kinda excited to hear it has styrene walls wish it would get here yet, silly snailmail
  19. that build looks like it is in need of some explanation what are we doing here, the painted interior suggest your revamping an existing build but everything else looks crisp any teasers on what will happen to the taillights ?
  20. i use model masters chrome paint on plated parts that need touching up while it is definatly not enough to "plate" a part with i do find it sufficient to mask minor imperfections with thumbs up on the look of it
  21. decided not to go into any more detail my explenation is found here : http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...mp;#entry146018 which is a locked thread so if you want to know what i meant feel free to read it.
  22. thanks for all the advise guys what i mainly wanted this for is 1 a backdrop for my pictures (i mean, look at this one, with a nice backdrop this would look very realistic but the cannisters kind of give it away) 2 as a first step into building dioramas. it seemed like an easy enough kit to get started with, nothing to major so it would be nice practice. all the "exces" tools could be positioned by my other cars i have sitting on shelves, just to give them a little more life. scott, thanks for the heads up on the walls, to be honoust i didnt realise these were cardboard not sure if i like that or not. im kinda exited with the possibilities of that, as far as photocopying and scanning and modifying goes.
  23. hey guys i finally found a sweet little dio kit its a garage set i snatched of ebay for about 35 bucks shipped im hoping to have it here by the end of next week so if anyone has any advice im listening heres a picture of the box
  24. nice looking build mike i have a few of the lil tuners i build and im slowly redoing them one by one. looks to me like this puppy is running a 4G63t powerhouse awesome little engine though the 1G 6 bolts had a few issues with crankwalk best would be to get a 2G 7 bolt block and slap on a 1G head bt i digest, i dug up a picture for you to show how the wires run as you can tell, the 4G63T is a twincam engine and so the plugs are receded in the camvalley and covered nicely hope this helps some
  25. first off, i think all these cars are gourgeous but since i had to pick one i looked at a few different things, the mustang was dropped because of the rims, i just couldnt imagine them on a classic car like that. the greem muscle had two different rims which is allong the same lines. i love the charger and i remember the build of it, it has a great deal of detail which is why i would have liked to see a dab of black paint on the wiperblades the hummer looks great with that F&F scene on the bigscreen and both formulas are very nice cars aswel but i voted for the rolls because it is a one of a kind build. over the past year i have only seen one other rolls build and that was as a haloween prank i believe. so apart from just the great finish of this car i also chose it on origenality of the kit build
