  1. nice job Jim, Are there any kits left for the club build? If so could you bring one with you to Jax next weekend? I'll pick it up at the show. Thanks, Robert
  2. The Tiajuana Taxi has a similar engine to the son of ford.
  3. Hey Richard, It depends on the brand and type of nail polish, some I use toulene and some is alcohol, you have to read the ingredients on the bottle. I've had the same brand have different formulas, so you have to look closely.
  4. Thanks, guys, the tires are copies of parts box pieces. If I only have a couple of a given tire, I make resin copies of them, then I don't have to rob expensive kits for tires.
  5. Of course it's a great day, It's my birthday, officially retired, your welcome.

    32 Ford's

Missed this the first time, great inspiration for more builds. Here's mine. I found an old "Son of Ford" kit while digging in my stash and wanted to build it, but the original kits are selling for way too much. so I tried to duplicate it from the other kits I had. Decided to up date it a little. Resin tires, Tiajuana Taxi wheels, nascar drive train.
  7. OOUUHH! Lots of memories, had a 61 2 dr in high school, red with red and white interior. It was indestructible, looking back I know I tried, 144 automatic, I'd take it around back of the gym and do a high RPM drop into low to spin the tires. I have a couple of these, now I'm going to have to build one. Nice looking car Alan. Robert
  8. Thanks, Guys, the show was great, what little I saw of it and we had a good turn out. Oh, Derick, I built pickups just none of the stock, except the tractor. the tractor was the reason to build the "load".
  9. Here's the pics from the show. Hope the guys have a good time and a good turn out. Yesterday was windy but beautiful, had a lot of interesting cars on the tables.
  10. The special pursuit unit. I'm going to put this out with the truck.
  11. I decided to go ahead and build the cars for the tractor and trailer and this is what I came up with in the last two weeks. I wanted a convertible ,but couldn't find the article to convert an AMT coupe, so I just started chopping. I looked at the Revelle body for reference. I used the cover from the Revell kit and added a back seat. The rest were straight from the box, well almost. Building a lot of the same thing can get tiresome, but it was fun since I usually don't build anything stock. Oh, the red one is for a special pursuit unit. Dual carbs, dual exhaust and radio communication.
  12. Getting ready for the show tomorrow, finished the "load" cars, couldn't find the article on converting the coupe to a convertible, so I had to wing it. . Oh yeah, I thought I'd add a little something to make it interesting. The truck is already in Ocala so I won't have pics of the truck loaded until tomorrow.
  13. ZOMBIES-ZOMBIES-ZOMBIES And now for your viewing pleasure, a picture from another world. BRAINS - MORE BRAINS!
  14. High Andrey, I have several of those, but I'm building a load for a car hauler and want to keep all the cars from the same line and simple. Thanks, Robert
  15. Hey Guys, I remember an article about converting an AMT coupe into a convertible, I'm having no luck finding it in my back issues. Does anyone know where it can be found? Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Robert
  16. Thanks Guys, I'm really partial to older drag cars so I knew I had to build this one. Robert
  17. Thanks Guys, Yeah, every one wants 40's to go on the trailer, I was also thinking about it as a pick up vehicle for a rod shop to bring in projects and take finished cars to shows. Robert
  18. Thanks, This one was a quick build, 3 days, I had been working on the others for almost a month off and on. Robert
  19. Thanks Guys, Hey Jim, I thought the shifters would be a little detail to catch your eye when looking at the truck. They're easy to make, maybe a how to at one of the club meetings? Robert
  20. While I was waiting for the resin to set for the tractor build I had this flash for another shop truck. since I wanted this one to be really low with the kit suspension, I chopped it up pretty bad. removed the louvers and sanded the door panels and seat. I went with the wheels and tires from a 29 rat rod kit and painted them satin purple. the flahead was wired, added aluminum water pumps and an alternator. paint on the truck is finger nail polish, Malibu Girl African Violet. seat cover from the 29 rat rod, eyeball shifted and the 40 decal for the bed. ready for assembly. chain for the tailgate and wrought iron running boards. 39 tail lights
  21. I wanted something different, at least that's my story. I used an Opel Blitz for the heavy truck parts and modified the 40 parts to fit. I cut the fenders from the front of the 40 and added a 1/8" strip to widen the a scale 3". I cut the chassis down by 1/2" to tractor length and cast some copies of the wheels and tires. the 40 engine doesn't have any stock parts so they were pirated from a 37 pickup, the six was cut off and the flathead added on. the doors were sanded flat and sheet stock added to look like a stock door panel, solder window crank and a 37 door handle. stock tail lights. the trailer is a glue bomb I got from my brother in law. a little weathering and it's good to go.
  22. here's the second 40 for our club build, an injected Hemi gasser. I modified the 40 chassis for the Willys front axle, hemi and headers and 32 rear axle I sanded the doors and added a roll and tuck pattern, glued the front end for a 1 piece. I recessed the firewall and put in a trans tunnel from an S-10. the bed is from the AMT Willys. chassis ready, Willys wheels, resin tires Willys engine with injection, parts box manifold, tubing injector stacks. It's a tight fit.
  23. Here's the first of a few trucks I built for our club challenge. Major changes from the kit are chassis, running gear and seats from 37 sedan, nailhead from Orange Hauler, wire wheels from 29 Woody. The rest are modified kit parts. the 37 chassis was used as is except for an additional bar for the trans mount. the engine is the nailhead from the Orange Hauler, really supprised how well it fit. it's painted with semi gloss black Duplicolor. the air cleaner came from the Orange Hauler, with a little adjustment of course. I sanded the door panels flat and added half round to simulate tuck and roll to match the roof panel. I added a chrome foot gas pedal from the Tijuana Taxi and door handles from the 37 and an eyeball shifter. The bed and running boards have foil strips. the exhaust came from the 37, I think, had to extend it to match up with the nailhead manifolds. did you notice I left the steering wheel out of the first pic like this? let me tell you how much fun installing it was with the doors glued solid! the next one is a drag truck.
