here's the second 40 for our club build, an injected Hemi gasser. I modified the 40 chassis for the Willys front axle, hemi and headers and 32 rear axle I sanded the doors and added a roll and tuck pattern, glued the front end for a 1 piece. I recessed the firewall and put in a trans tunnel from an S-10. the bed is from the AMT Willys. chassis ready, Willys wheels, resin tires Willys engine with injection, parts box manifold, tubing injector stacks. It's a tight fit.

Here's the first of a few trucks I built for our club challenge. Major changes from the kit are chassis, running gear and seats from 37 sedan, nailhead from Orange Hauler, wire wheels from 29 Woody. The rest are modified kit parts. the 37 chassis was used as is except for an additional bar for the trans mount. the engine is the nailhead from the Orange Hauler, really supprised how well it fit. it's painted with semi gloss black Duplicolor. the air cleaner came from the Orange Hauler, with a little adjustment of course. I sanded the door panels flat and added half round to simulate tuck and roll to match the roof panel. I added a chrome foot gas pedal from the Tijuana Taxi and door handles from the 37 and an eyeball shifter. The bed and running boards have foil strips. the exhaust came from the 37, I think, had to extend it to match up with the nailhead manifolds. did you notice I left the steering wheel out of the first pic like this? let me tell you how much fun installing it was with the doors glued solid! the next one is a drag truck.

Hey Jim, Yeah there's only 3 so far, but I've still got 2 more weeks to build. Cranky, I try and keep all the tires mated up in sets, easier to put my hands on all 4 at one time. Doobie, no polish, straight out of the air brush or rattle can.

Hey Jim, I'm hoping to have all of them (I couldn't make up my mind on what style to build) completed by out Oct. meeting.

Paint Strippers - What to Use?
oldnslow replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Jim, I've stripped several of the Phantom bodies with 91% and they came clean with very little brushing. -
Thanks Guys, I'm pounding out a couple of builds now for our club build, can't post them yet cause Jim will see them, , and you know what a blabber mouth he is!

Great Looking Camaro! I remember these from high school, Road Hugger tires were my tire of choice in the 70's for my Nova, G60 fronts and H60 rears. But one thing, please put some brakes on it before your sister takes it out for a spin, wouldn't want her to get hurt.

Section it, chop it, slam it, ZR1 motor and running gear. -
Viper powered car hauler?
oldnslow replied to Bartster's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Realistically, you can put anything in anything with enough engineering, is it practical?, probably not, but if you like it so what!, go for it. -
Inventory software
oldnslow replied to Rob McKee's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My daughter's after me to do the same thing, using a word document, haven't started yet. I've got the inventory sheets, everything is in boxes, but there's 78 pages and I just can't bring myself to start that project yet. -
Thanks Marty, Yep, lots of stacks of tires, after 50 years of building and collecting they start to pile up. I've probably got 2 or 3 thousand stashed around the garage in cigar boxes, model boxes, on loops of wire and in drawers and these are just the one's that were easy to get to. .

Nathan - wheels came from the 37 pickup kit
-
Yep, you're right. Thanks for the catch.

Anyone know anything about this?
oldnslow replied to 502's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Too late, it just jumped the sprocket. -
Thanks again guys, Marcus - the paint is Malibu Girl nail polish I picked up at the flea market, it's called tequila sunrise, got funny looks when I bought about 20 bottles of different colors for 5 bucks. Rob - the buick came from the Orange Hauler, it's a drop in, even the mounts match up.
-
Thanks Guys, Rusty - the motor is out of the Phantom Vicky, stock with fuel, vacuum and throttle lines run. Jim - you didn't see that, LOL. Ron - it's the kit part, shortened to fit the new interior length.
-
Finally got around to finishing this one, it's in the under glass section.

I finally got back to this one and finished it up, makes a nice companion for my coupe. tried my hand at an eyeball shifter. the 57 interior worked out OK. added some polished aluminum tube tips to the exhaust. added a little wiring.
