Stephen, good looking haul, man. If I can be of any help, just ask (well, you know that from the FOX/SN95 threads). I too have a few SNs I need to get finished. Mike, liking the GT500 and what you are doing with it! I confess to having several S197s going; I started a Bullitt conversion to a 2006 kit even before the 08' Bullitt was released, an 08' bullitt with a swapped GT500 drivetrain, a 2010 GT with a swapped GT500 powertrain, and now the 2010 GT500. Guess I might want to get moving on those too, huh? (along with my 40 FOXes and the 4-5 SN95s!)

No word on the Coyote variant yet; don't think they will until they have exhausted the other options. With that said, look to December/January for the 2010 GT Convertible snap kit.I know, Groan...a snapper...big deal. Well, Revell has cast the hood for the snapper separately (read: able to swap the full-detail underpinnings/drivetrain into the snap kit) and it is along the same lines as the rest of the '10 kits. Also, Mike is right; scaledreams (Rick) is a great source for Pegasus wheels, and he is a good guy to deal with as well. Good to hear you got a 'Stang stash built back up Stephen, and I am sure we will be seeing them soon!

Yes, the Revell 1/25th scale 2010 GT500 is in shops now, along with the 1/12th scale. The 1/25th scale will have a red GT500 on the box art. I saw the box art car at Toledo NNL, and it looks the same as in the box photo. I snagged one last week when I was in HobbyTown USA. The chassis is different from the 05-09 units, but is a mimic of the '10 GT.

Yamaha-inspired, Mercury Marine developed and tested powertrain stuck into a Fisher-Bodied shell with Recaro-styled interior.............I like it. Looks like a healthy start of a pro-Touring Malibu to me.

Sadly, these car suffer from too shallow of wheelwells, both front and rear. The 1:1 cars can swallow up 20"x10" fronts, and the rears have seen 22"x12". Their scale brethren, however, cannot even swallow the stock wheels well, let alone aftermarket sets (I:E.....Pegasus, Aoshima, Fujimi) without massive surgery to do so. Lowering only complicates this matter more. I am still working on a proper fix for the fronts, but the rears have proven to be do-able with a razor-saw, #11 Exacto, and some styrene surgery/relocation/addition.

Decklan, allow me to spend money for you by telling you that Revell has released their 2010 GT500 kit to stores. No need to transplant any part back and forth, unless you have them already. If so, the earlier GT500 powertrain will swap nicely into the 2010GT.

That's what I was thinking, Ryan. I did a cowl hood in a similar way once; didn't turn out too bad but wasn't show quality! Keep the Cobra going, looking better every pic!
-
The stripes look good, and almost Ghost into the body color. I like it. Something else I just noticed thanks to the stripes; it looks to be a 'Cobra R' style hood (1995 style, not the 93 Cobra R). Did you make that yourself? Looks good on the FOX.

Need some advice on what resin engine to purchase

Since I have all of these ideas that I will never get to, just figured I would share! -
That does look nice, Jonathan!

The 409 from one of the earlier 58 Impala kits (with the finned valve covers), Tri-power Throttle bodies and the intake drilled/fitted/plumbed for modern EFI. Coil packs from the 1996-99 Mustang Cobra kits (Revell) and an EDIS wheel made for the crank snout. Vintage looks with modern performance! -
Justin, do you have a Hobby Lobby there in Findlay? (I think I remember one being there when I pass through) If so, they sell Createx paints and every now and then have some Flocking materials come in. They also have embossing powders over in their Scrap-booking section. Let me know what you are looking for, as we have a hobby shop here by the Dayton Mall, and I do trip over to Columbus quite a bit.

Looks like what I was doing with the GT/SVO hybrid I started, Jason. Then I realized, I suck and don't have the skill to finish it (ok, in all seriousness I am working on a 1987-93 Saleen bumper instead of finishing this venture). I have also modified the SVO bumper to better fit the kit/be more in-scale width-wise. You do good work and subject material for the FOX, Jason. Keep at it! You more than make up for my slack.

Help me pick a color
whale392 replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Go Gator; Green body, Green vinyl top, Green interior! -
The color and stripe/wheel color coordination look good! I followed your build-up in the CBP thread and liked what I saw. Looks good sitting there!

Shhhh Rick, you're blowing our cover! In all honesty, most guys who build model Mustangs seem to concentrate on the early cars. Whenever a late model Mustang in scale is posted, it is largely ignored. Having their own build threads ensures that they get the love they deserve!

See the 'turboes' thread for the link to Mikes homepage (it contains ordering instructions). -
how to paint over black promo plastic
whale392 replied to route66modeler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Black generally won't bleed like the other louder colors will (Red, Orange, Yellow), so prime and paint as usual. BUT, in the instance it does, many use a barrier coat of Future to help seal the base plastic color from the subsequent primer/color coats. -
Like I said in the SN95 thread, very nice Cobra!

Ryan, I see you were taken care of in the other resin turbo thread! I can vouch for all of Mikes' (Shucky) castings, they are top notch and worth what you will spend. He is also considering a line of smaller OEM/Street turbos as well. Check back with him from time to time. -
SN95 build thread (in conjunction with the FOX thread)
whale392 replied to whale392's topic in Community Builds
Looks good Ryan, both the real Cobra and the scale rendition! I am going through a 1996 4.6L DOHC motor myself, twin-turboing it, 5.0L stroking it, and sticking it down into my 1991GT. This is a long-term project, but all the big pieces are in my garage! Welcome to the Forum and the SN95 build thread!- 106 replies

Welcome down to the FOX hole, Ryan. Glad to see you here, and welcome to you and your 93 Cobra. Looks good as of the moment, and by all means keep us posted on it!

Well John, you will discover this soon enough.....the Imex 1/12th scale Bike and the Revell 1/12th scale bike ARE NOT THE SAME SIZE. The Revell unit is considerably larger, and the Imex motor/trans will look absolutely tiny in that chassis. Best of luck to you. (I was contemplating a similar swap until I got the two kits side-by-side)
