  1. Love the II's and the FOX stuff! Even the SN95s and the S197s look great.........ok, they all look great but I have Late-Model Pony love! 1979-93 in particular, but a good-looking II or a well-detailed SN are just as loved. The S197s are still too new for me, but I love the power/style aspect of them.
  2. So, are you going to go for the 1968-inspired Bullitt, the 2001-inspired Bullitt, or the 2008-inspired Bullitt theme for this one? Personally, I think it is just screaming for a small forward-facing hood scoop and brushed-aluminum fuel door (2001 Bullitt), along with a nice set of 20" Torques. Spoiler-less trunk, sitting low, and Highland Green. But, these are my personal opinions, and should be taken and tossed out the window!
  3. Personal opinion here, but while you have cut it up so much, why not move the forward wheel well openings forward some? I always thought they looked too far back in the front fenders to begin with.
  4. Sadly, for anyone who has never seen these wheels/tires/brakes, they are very well done (as ZOOM-ZOOM eluded to in that link) and are worth the swap-meet cost just for the brake detail (and extra set of rotors/caliper that come in the box). I have to agree on the sizes though; there are very few scale models that they look the part on. Small cars (read:Opel GT and Honda CRX) make the wheels look good. Anything bigger, and the wheels vanish. Too bad too, as they are quite well done detail-wise and clarity of casting.
  5. Cool idea, Chuck. Had a similar idea myself.
  6. Still do, Curt. 'Hemi' is a registered trademark of Chrysler.
  7. There were 14 different cubic inch displacements available in the 'Whale', all the way from 241cid up to the 392cid. By Make: Chrysler and Imperial: 331, 354, 392 Desoto: 276, 291, 330, 341, 345 Dodge: 241, 270, 315, 325 Oh, and we are STILL waiting for the pictures.
  8. So you start this WITHOUT pics, in the review section? Sounds like a winning plan. Lets see the pics.
  9. Thanks Stephen, now I see that the rear fascia is as the front, it can be cut along the same body lines as the existing glue kits and all GT500 parts swapped over. Or, just take the convertible-specific bits (interior and top-down boot) and stick them into a roof-removed glue GT500 kit. I see a lot of possibilities for the snapper.................. Yes Rob, your memory is correct in that the glue GT500 front and rear fascias are separate pieces, as are the '10GT units.
  10. Seems the further you want to take a build, the longer they take! I just looked at Stephens pics of the convertible, and since I commented there, I will not further muck up this thread with that commentary. However, I will say that I can see some real potential for that kit, and will be grabbing a few for myself (great, just what I need, more projects! ) December 15th looks like the start date for my 2010GT kit, as the final bits of the puzzle will be in place (thanks Casey) and I can get started with the mock-up/surgery/mock-up again/more surgery/am I still just mocking this thing up/maybe get some glue to it stage!
  11. Stephen, thanks for those pics of the kit. Now, with actual kit photographs in hand (in your case, the actual kit!), we can start formulating our plans of attack for the builds we have planned in our heads. I can see this kit will be FAR easier to lower than the glue due to its' simple chassis pan (which looks to be fairly well detailed in its' own right). Looks like a little bit of surgery will be needed to mate the glue guts to the snap shell/interior. The body mounting lugs (the posts hanging down from the cowl area) and the radiator core support will have to be removed at the very least. I am assuming there are 2 more at the trunk area as well. I am also assuming the convertible interior boot well probably has some that will need to be removed/trimmed to fit the glue chassis. The front facia being molded on isn't really too hard to overcome, as I see it is cast with the same body separation line as the glue kits. Shouldn't be beyond any of us to scribe the lines through, remove the original piece, and glue the GT500 piece on. Can't tell about the rear, but I am assuming the same. Tires will have to be changed out as well, as they look to suffer the same fate as the glue kits units. Tail lights can be pirated from the glue as well for more detail ability (versus just the red one-piece units of the snapper). I can see a lot of potential here for an out of the box build, some mild kitbashing, and some full-on kitbash projects. Thanks again, Stephen. Looks like Revell might just have another good seller on their hands.
  12. Stephen, good score on the 'verts. I will have to drop by my HobbyTown next time I am in the Columbus area. Looks like at least one 'vert and one 2010GT kit at least (maybe the GT500 instead!). Oh, and that's why I say my build times are so long, I have so many going at once that it is impossible for me to make any real headway on any of them (considering half of the FOXes are conversions to other trim lines/models).
  13. Luke57 was a member here, who recently passed away.
  14. We took it to PM, Rob. Hopefully, he will get what I was trying to tell him with my first reply to him, before he persisted with the 'You misread me' stuff. That is why I left this thread. Still, if he wants to 'spit fact', he had best have an idea of what he is talking about, because he just made himself look foolish here.
  15. I was building these engines before you were born Andy. So I think I know a thing or two beyond 'reading' it.
  16. Dang, you really are dense aren't you. Lets go to PM before you lower the IQ of this thread.
  17. Andy, you said, 'Any engine with the spark plug wire through the valve covers is a Hemi' YOUR WORDS. Get it right or SHUT UP. Not all heads with plugs through the valve covers are HEMIS. God are you dense. You want a real schooling, we can take this to PM.
  18. Andy, you are what, 14? You wanted to come off like you knew what I was talking about and sound like you actually know something. That is what is called a fake, a posuer. If you don't know, keep quiet. You tried with the Hemi thing..........but you epic failed with the Pentroof.
  19. Andy, hate to break this to you, but you need to go back and read. ALL current DOHC designs are based on the Pentroof head. Didn't work well my tail, it works fantastic. It combines the best aspects of a wedge and Hemi head. Perhaps, when you are older and wiser, you will learn to keep quiet until you really KNOW what you are talking about. You just made yourself look foolish; please go back and edit your reply. To the original poster: http://www.offroaders.com/tech/images/Plymouth_Hemi_Cuda_engine-gnu.jpg, http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1257/1434056225_b3097736f5.jpg These photos should help.
  20. If the Charger engine in question has very wide valve covers, it is a Hemi engine and the plug wired do go through the center of the cover. Since the 67 Charger model wasn't issued with the 440 wedge, I would say that is what you have. Andy, might I suggest you narrow your field of answer. Not all engines with plugs going through their valve covers are Hemi headed. Look at the modern DOHC set-ups. Are they Hemi? By your words, they are. But they aren't.......they are what is called a Pentroof design. Basically two wedge configurations placed back-to-back with the plug in the middle. The Honda D-series engines aren't Hemi either, and their plugs go into the cover. Their B and H series motors are also straight-through the cover, but are DOHC Pentroof heads.
  21. True, Jonathan. Ultimately, it is the buyers responsibility. I buy a lot on e-bay, and read the auction specifications carefully. If I see the seller has a stipulation in the auction I cannot comply with, no matter how bad I want the item I pass on and let someone who can comply buy it. I also agree that EBay can be a sellers nightmare, and a lot of that is because of negligent BUYERS who want to blame the seller. Sometimes, the seller is the culprit, I agree. By and large though, hasty buyers who then complain have a heavier hand in the Ebay rules system than the sellers do.
  22. BMF can still bite you, no matter how long you have been using it! The SS looks good to me.
  23. Josh, I have 40 FOXes started, 2 Bullitts, 2 GT500s (07 variants), 3 '05-09 GTs, a Hertz and '10 GT500, and even a few SN95s going.........all along with 2 semis, a Honda CRX, 2 Porsche 930s, several Datsun Z cars, a Syclone, a 62 Buick, and a few other small projects. I love the FOX, and even Mustang in general, so don't feel bad about being 'Snakebit'! Chassis color for the 99 would be Gray primer with heavy body color overspray. Stephen, I'll let you guys be the judge of the 2010GT when I get started on it!
  24. With due respect to context Erik, I think you need to take a second look at what was written and the context I have it in. It IS the buyers responsibility to make sure he fits the sellers preferences, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. You all who misunderstand that simple concept really are dense, aren't you. I truly hope something like this happens to you, and when it does, I will have ZERO sympathy for you as you will finally see what I am talking about. Some people (then again, I guess my parents actually taught me to READ and UNDERSTAND instructions before I did something. Then this funny little thing called the NAVY taught me attention to detail.........something it seems the world is missing/losing) Here, I'll even paint the roadmap for you. Original Poster stated 'Continental USA Only' in his auction. Foreign bidder bids/wins anyway. Then expects seller to ship to an area HE SAID HE WON'T SHIP TO. How dang hard is that to comprehend (for both the foreign buyer and you all who defend that position)? NOT OUTSIDE CONTINENTAL USA.................pretty plain. Brasil is not Continental USA. OP doesn't want the hassle/cost to ship internationally, so he states that in the ad.
  25. That is all well and good Darin, but basic ability to follow instructions negates having to set preferences. I can see your point, but it seems you have trouble seeing the other side (my point). PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY is what it boils down to. If the 'bidder' doesn't have the responsibility to actually read and abide by the sellers wishes, it is NOT the sellers responsibility to then cater to the buyer. THAT SIMPLE.
