Has April 2011 been decided on for the deadline? If so, I'm in. I have at least 30 plus models that would qualify, but one in particular that I have been wanting to do.

PFS Hobbies used to carry resin non-chrome ones, but I haven't seen them in quite a while. I had always intended on getting some and lost my round toit and never did. I tried casting the 59 CHEVY ONES BUT DIDN'T HAVE ANY SUCCESS. There so small that it's very difficult. Maybe I'll try again if no one can come up with a supplier.

Stopped by the closest Michael's yesterday and went back today with my 50% off coupons. It's only 2 miles each way. Picked up a can of Testers one coat lacquer black yesterday and an emerald green today. They just started carrying them.

It must have gone off that cliff because all the of pictures have disappeared off my screen. Now it's back and was level. When I refreshed the screen, it went nose down.

I need help with a lincoln engine

This may help. It is from the directions for the 1927 MPC Lincoln which is the same as the 1928. -
Central Florida clubs or shows??
my66s55 replied to Doug McCabe's topic in Model Club News and Announcements
I know what you mean Mike. There is an IPMS meeting, but it is worthless for car guys. People are here in the area, it's just getting someone to put forth the effort to organize a club. Between this forum and the scale auto forum, there has to be 6 or more modelers within a reasonable distance . One lives in Sanford, less than five miles from me. There are others in Orlando, Oveido, Port Orange and Daytona. By the way, you have a very popular name. A Bell South people search came up with 15 persons with your first and last name who are in the greater Orlando area -
One other thing that I use in interior detailing is a Pilot brand silver marker. The extra fine point one. Its great for door handles, dash nobs and chrome dash pieces. Its also very handy at covering chrome sprue chips

Looks real to me.

Going Blind (I guess)
my66s55 replied to ratnasty's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I am 65 and use a light with a magnifier on it. In addition, I look through trifocals with the equivalent of having my right eye closed. This makes for a lot of challenges as I not only have to see the parts, I also try and figure out how far away from each other they are so I can glue or brush paint them. -
Come in Everyone! What's your 1:1?
my66s55 replied to Jordan White's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is my daily driver. I am retired and don't drive more than a few hundred miles a month. It is 1 of 669 1966 full size Mercury S55 convertibles built that year. I am the second owner. The S55's came with a 428, c-6 trans, bucket seats and center console with shifter. It's options include power windows, power brakes, am-fm radio and front fender marker lights The only things that are not stock are a Summet cam to help gas mileage, American racing Torque Thrust II wheels and 1972 Montego front disk brakes to help stop this beast. -
These are a pair of the models I have built in the last year and a half. There was a 49 year span between these and the last model I built at age 16. The 1927 roadster is painted with gloss acrylic and Future and the 1928 phaeton with Testers spray can enamel. 1927 roadster 1928 phaeton

What a beautiful car. Some of the Minicraft/Entex kits have a large amount of parts to them. The 37 Packard I'm currently working on has approximately 300 pieces. I hope it comes out as near as nice as this Cadillac.

Model Let's see if I can be right this time.

A man has got to know his limitations
my66s55 replied to DRG's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I couldn't agree more. Also, some of us have physical handicaps which limit our abilities. -
There is a 1:1 I see every once and awhile that is the exact same color. Both the 1:1 and yours are beautiful cars.

Nicely done. Looks great in the pics. I hate it when something like a glue or finger mark screw up a build.
-
Beautiful build. I'm with you Dennis. I'd love to see more of the stock build of the 20's and 30's cars.

I'm finishing up my 1936 Entex 1936 Mercedes 540K roadster.

This subject has come up before. Check out the following thread. Art Anderson has a post in it. For the record, I've been casting all sizes of resin parts from small to bodies for over 7 years and find that Smooth-on works best for me. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=15637&st=0&p=133294&#entry133294

The first model I built was a wood & balsa destroyer. That was in 1951. The first car model I built was a Gowland & Gowland when they first came out and showed up in the local hobby shop. I think that was 1951 or 52.
