Source. Where did this information come from? Got my answer of S.A. forum. Bob Downey found it at: http://www.revell.co...s/about-us.html listed in the Future in Modeling section. -
You are correct Harry. By going to the web site I referenced and right clicking the heading "Holden Cars History" you get the history of the Holden and it clearly states that production didn't start until 1951. The 1948 pictured, as it is on another site, was apparently a prototype and differed by the lack of the parking lights. The 1948 FX,1953 FJ,1958 FC etc. seem to indicate the model. If a person takes a minute and reads the history they will learn that, written under the year 1948 the model's engineering prefix 48-215 is named FX so that you could tell it from it's successor. I believe that Joe's question "I wonder if that is the name of that body style or generation of truck, kinda like Jeep does with their vehicles (XJ, MJ, ZJ, WJ, TJ, JK, ect.)" is answered by the information on this web site. As far as a 1948 Holden FX ute, I believe I have offered my interpretation of that also.

Johan 1963 Oldsmobile
my66s55 replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The best Olds engine I know of is in the AMT 39/40 Ford sedan. The one in the Early Iron 29 Ford roadster pickup isn't too bad except it is blown and 1/24th. I have this 63 Olds in a hardtop kit and personally, I will build it straight out of the box and say thank you very much for the availability of the subject matter. -
I think you will find the answer to that question here: http://www.classicholdencars.com/holden-ute-classics/

Very nicely done Lee. I really enjoy seeing you builds.
-
O. K. Charlie. Were's is your build? I'll be posting on mine soon as I've finished (finally) things I had ahead of them.

Latest forecast 27 minutes ago puts Irene, if it stays on its predicted coarse, about 100 miles east of Cape Canaveral by Friday A.M. This means that people along the I-4 corridor and eastward could get winds of up to 76 mph as well as heavy rains and flooding. This usually equates to power outages. Hopefully, this is the worst we'll get here.

I have the Entex 1936 Mercedes 540K in the larger scale. The supercharger on this model is the revised one. Ian, I think I know where your coming from with the "Works of art, nonetheless." I build a model sometimes because of the subject matter, not for its accuracy.

Tom, your showroom frame looks right on. Great job.

I don't know if they changed between the time I had my station in 67 and your dio circa 1977, but in my time, the cheap cans of oil were black and white. We stocked the show room shelves with the middle grade silver and white for obvious money reason, and the premium cans of gold and white 10w30's were stacked in a pyramid just behind the two front windows. There were black and white one gallon cans of cheap oil also.

Do you self a favor and pick up a dehydrator. I use mine even with acrylics. You'll never regret it. Mine is a Nesco with a temp setting that can be adjusted. -

You've got to be kidding me, right. I go out to my garage and there it is. The car I use as my daily, if need be , transportation. My 66 s55 Mercury rag top. Granted, I get quite a bit of attention around town on my jaunts. i.e. what year is it? What is it? Does it really have a 428 in it? Or. is it for sale? Nope -
Try here: http://docs.gimp.org/2.6/en/ Gimp is my main image manipulation program and works quite well for me.

Donn, if you noticed, I gave full credit to your dvd for teaching the basics of successful airbrushing no matter what the paint. I owe a great deal of gratitude to you for showing the basics of a good, no great paint job thu an airbrush. I thank you. -
I have use GIMP quite successfully many time. It's a good program. Since i am not using a Mac or Windoz OS, I don't know what your problem could be. This message brought to you via Chrome on Linex UBUTU 10.10

Welcome to the forum and nice work on the restoration. I especially like the fact that you left the REVELL, INC 1956 on the bottom. It validates the release of this kit and , in my opinion, should be left alone.

Go to the topic "Question for the Florida guys" and see my last post. I got the ideas for what paint to use from an article in SAE. Don't remember who wrote it but I think it was Bob Downey. I use almost all acrylic paints with great success. Donn's dvd help me out unbelievably. As the maniac guy, you know you have got to be a little crazy to live down by the Everglades says, keep it simple . It took me quite some time to learn how to get the results I wanted from acrylic. Just apply the principles from Donn's disk and you will be successful. But, as Donn mentioned, acrylics are a bit different. -
Me too!!
