  1. I think you will find the answer to that question here: http://www.classicholdencars.com/holden-ute-classics/

    65 Impala ragtop

Very nicely done Lee. I really enjoy seeing you builds.
  3. O. K. Charlie. Were's is your build? I'll be posting on mine soon as I've finished (finally) things I had ahead of them.
  4. Latest forecast 27 minutes ago puts Irene, if it stays on its predicted coarse, about 100 miles east of Cape Canaveral by Friday A.M. This means that people along the I-4 corridor and eastward could get winds of up to 76 mph as well as heavy rains and flooding. This usually equates to power outages. Hopefully, this is the worst we'll get here.
  5. I have the Entex 1936 Mercedes 540K in the larger scale. The supercharger on this model is the revised one. Ian, I think I know where your coming from with the "Works of art, nonetheless." I build a model sometimes because of the subject matter, not for its accuracy.
  6. Tom, your showroom frame looks right on. Great job.
  7. I don't know if they changed between the time I had my station in 67 and your dio circa 1977, but in my time, the cheap cans of oil were black and white. We stocked the show room shelves with the middle grade silver and white for obvious money reason, and the premium cans of gold and white 10w30's were stacked in a pyramid just behind the two front windows. There were black and white one gallon cans of cheap oil also.
  8. Do you self a favor and pick up a dehydrator. I use mine even with acrylics. You'll never regret it. Mine is a Nesco with a temp setting that can be adjusted.
  9. O' Cranky one. Doesn't Igor ever let you sleep?
  10. You've got to be kidding me, right. I go out to my garage and there it is. The car I use as my daily, if need be , transportation. My 66 s55 Mercury rag top. Granted, I get quite a bit of attention around town on my jaunts. i.e. what year is it? What is it? Does it really have a 428 in it? Or. is it for sale? Nope
  11. Try here: http://docs.gimp.org/2.6/en/ Gimp is my main image manipulation program and works quite well for me.
  12. GIMP is open source software. Learn what it is and benefit by it. Otherwise ,you lose. This message brought to you via Chrome on Linix Ubuntu 10.10 operating system open source software. No, I am not a geek. If you can load and run windows or use a Mac, you can run this os.
  13. Thanks again Donn. Your post is appreciated and it is important that everyone see the benefit that is gained by the purchase and proper implementation of the information on the cd. With proper understanding, they will benefit greatly
  14. Ah, There is quite a bite of documentation and tutorials if you bother to look. You have to be industrious and look for it. Man, what I put up with.
  15. Donn, if you noticed, I gave full credit to your dvd for teaching the basics of successful airbrushing no matter what the paint. I owe a great deal of gratitude to you for showing the basics of a good, no great paint job thu an airbrush. I thank you.
  16. I have use GIMP quite successfully many time. It's a good program. Since i am not using a Mac or Windoz OS, I don't know what your problem could be. This message brought to you via Chrome on Linex UBUTU 10.10
  17. Welcome to the forum and nice work on the restoration. I especially like the fact that you left the REVELL, INC 1956 on the bottom. It validates the release of this kit and , in my opinion, should be left alone.
  18. Go to the topic "Question for the Florida guys" and see my last post. I got the ideas for what paint to use from an article in SAE. Don't remember who wrote it but I think it was Bob Downey. I use almost all acrylic paints with great success. Donn's dvd help me out unbelievably. As the maniac guy, you know you have got to be a little crazy to live down by the Everglades says, keep it simple . It took me quite some time to learn how to get the results I wanted from acrylic. Just apply the principles from Donn's disk and you will be successful. But, as Donn mentioned, acrylics are a bit different.
  19. Me too!!
  20. I have the Duesenberg SJ roadster the Packard Boattail Speedster, the Rolls Royce roadster by Brewster and the Duesenberg Weyman Torpedo Phaeton as well as the Cord above. There also was a 1931 Rolls Royce phaeton and a Packard Speedster.
  21. Rather costly. A 2" x 20" x 60" piece on another site is $322 and change plus shipping. I won't be ordering any.
  22. Here: http://www.freemansupply.com/RenShape440Styling.htm
  23. I believe there may be a misunderstanding as to which Yorktown this model is. Unless I read my research incorrectly, plus being a big WWII buff, this is a model of The first Yorktown built in 1937 and sunk as a result of action in the battle of Midway. I have read that the Revell model is this one the CV-5. The one in Dave's reference is the CV-10 built I believe in1943. Here is a link to the CV-5. http://www.navsource...hives/02/05.htm
  24. Tom, you asked me to re-post these pictures and now you have them. Bring back memories of your days at Clark Mike? My station never got robbed but it was hard keeping a night shift employee.
