What to do with instructions?
Nick Notarangelo replied to Sledsel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was just thinking of this earlier, I keep mine as I make notes on them that I wanna save for a future kit, just in case I buy a double of one and need to refresh myself with any problems or details I wanna make on the next one. And scaning them as a PDF is a good thing if you live in a limited space. -

History of AMT
Nick Notarangelo replied to Nick Notarangelo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know some of the facts are flakey to say the least but it's nice to find A article or two somewhere online. -
"Unbuildable"
Nick Notarangelo replied to johnbuzzed's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Lindbergs 1940 ford is on that list, that has been the only kit in 35 years of building models that I have imploded into the wall. -
This came up in my news feed and I thought I would share this http://www.motorcities.org/Story/Remembering+the+early+days+of+the+AMT+corporation+1950s70s+br+By+Robert+Tate+Automotive+Historian+Researcher+br+Images++Courtesy+of+Robert+Tates+collection-348.html

Revell '55 Chevy
Nick Notarangelo replied to 06daytona's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The 57 wasn't half bad either, I did the Hot Rod version and everything worked out great with a little clean up. the only real bad thing about that kit was the two piece tires that made it to the trash cause they were badly misshaped . -
Old Monogram Parts Restored ?
Nick Notarangelo replied to Pete L.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I just trade that kit a few months back to someone on here and it was almost intact only four parts were missing, three head parts and a front suspension stabilizer but other than that the kit was in awesome shape. -

Michael's - what's your opinion?
Nick Notarangelo replied to mikemodeler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
to me it's a hit or miss on selection -
I don't get impressed very often on this site but this is some dang good work so far. Very straight forward and talk about reusing anything on hand, nice job. Now the question is what are you going to do if you get the actual kit of this?

"Guilty Pleasures" Kits?
Nick Notarangelo replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
my Guilty kits are the Dodge Ram 50's and the Four Courier kits like I said in another posting and the AMT 32 fords, again lots of parts and tons of options of how your going to do it. -
with the ram 50 you got sport parts, custom and just everyday stuff, example in the bed you have the roll bar with the two pony seats, ground trim and maybe a engine swap and you got a weekend warrior.Ladder rack and its a work truck, beefy tires and some search and rescue stuff and its a late 70's early 80's beach truck, just to name a few things. heres mine, still havent finished it yet

The Revell 57 chevy with the open everything wasn't that bad of a kit body wise, the front suspension was the biggest mess of the whole kit,the next kit on this list also has to be any of the vw bugs from Revell "well at lease the older kits" example for those who haven't the pleasure there is about a 1/4 inch gap to 3/8's gap going around the firewall when you put the body on it and it really noticeable if it's the convertible, either glue the boot on if you don't make a new wall or glue the top on.

Like it say's the worst of the worse Craptacular kits of all time, the one's where you get to a certain point after working on it cause you think you can't go any further cause it's just that bad. Example, mine was Lindberg's 1940 ford from the dodge two and one kit that you were to build and put on the flat bed, soft details and the who ever was filling the mold didn't seat it properly that it was thick and almost solid flash. What's yours?
