  1. oh dear lord...
  2. wait whaa? They get better milage than my 5 speed 4 cylinder jetta.... I'm getting me a caddy and rollin in style....
  3. maybe by caddy he means golfcart LOL I get good milage in my dub so I'm not complaining
  4. Yes that's a 90's Cougar was it the 94? I'm still not sure what the exact year was on the kit but it looks to be a 93/94
  5. well the escalade keeps attacking me.. I woke up to a crashing noise this morning and found it on the floor beside my bed everything went flying everywhere..apparently it tried to run me over... then later when working on it I ended up with a stab wound that Idk how I got.. but the tip of my thumb is now throbbing and numb and bleeding (I wasnt even using a knife or file just trying to mock it all back up) this seems like it will be an interesting build...
  6. Interior mocked up and chassis and all mocked up together minus the lights windows anddetailing I've been using paper to mock up what I want done but have yet to get any supplies hopefully on my days off I can track something down.. It's driving me nuts not getting to work on it. the more I do the more I love this model... even with the lack of an engine... -grumble grumble-
  7. That's pretty cool man I like it
  8. well I have the doors hood and rear htch mocked up.. still debating on having the passenger scissor door open to reveal something. I have a few ideas floating around.. now I just need to get some of that darn styrene that every hobby shop says doesn't exist... seriously I'm tired of looking for it and I hate to order it because Idk what I need without looking at it in person.
  9. ! ............ lol but come on.. you know it's still cool!
  10. OK .. I submit the escalade.. thinking about it .. It's perfect.. I mean.. who needs an actual fully built motor right! (I'm still ranting about the motor on this kit lol)
  11. HEY! lol I wish you would have PM'ed me I almost didn't see this lol I'm in, I'll post up my car tomorrow night after I get off work.. Not sure what I want to use I may go buy something .. different EDIT! .. OK these are 3 models I have that I wouldn't mind chopping up into something like this.. OH and the caddy is new I picked it up yesterday and the only plastic taken off is from the box everything else are still in their packs if anyone would like to trade something for it (I know this isn't a tade section but if anyone wanted it before I chopped it up and killed it I wanted to ask since I don't like it) ANYWAYS... Idk which I should pick.. SO I'll get your opinons
  12. I posted in the original deathreace buildoff asking what had happened.. it stalled about a year ago on the buildoff thread and the WIP threa stalled around Feb. It looks like someone saw my post and bumped the WIP thread... anyways like I said in the buildoff thread I was looking forward to round 2 so I could join... if you guys start a Deathrace buildoff let me know Via PM if your gettin one started I really want to be a part of it!!! Thanks
  13. Wasn't the escalade the one they were in when the guy got shot? I just picked up an escalade kit today but don't really like it much,... maybe this is motivation for me to build it? lol
  14. I plan to go to walmart and grab something that you guys have mentioned (probably brake cleaner) my question is how safe is it to reuse? SAYYYY... I have a new model.. and I painted it and it ran.. and so I cleaned it in the cleaner and repainted it a couple days later only to have messed the paint up again.. still good to go for another cleaning or would it start eating up the plastic?
  15. best motor ever! Agreed? I'm throwing it right back up to trade someone may like it for the body but It's not what I expected... and to think the F150 Lightning was $5 cheaper
  16. got the "uptown" escalade kit with scissor doors and system in the back with opening hatch.. I don't really like it and regret not getting something different instead
  17. sorry I should have been more clear. I was meaning they wouldn't fit the look of the truck. Since I was saying it's a "project" truck (since I was painting it flat black) I was saying it wouldn't look right with the chrome on it (pretend it's 1:1 why would you go through all the work of putting chrome trim and parts on to just tear it all down and paint it)
  18. YES! that's the kit! lol I currently have the cab flat black but the more I look at the chrome parts the more they wont fit.. if it's a "project" truck.. why would they put all the chrome parts/trim on before the truck gets painted..
  19. Hi guys sorry I overlooked this thread. I just wanted to basically scratch build random stuff.. the whole reason I wanted to start was the death race build off and I wanted to build a car like that on my own or just random cars like that... basically using sheet plastic/tubing to cover windows and making bars etc. I just wasnt sure the thickness people used. I just wanted to mess around and try to learn different things
  20. OK GUYS WHAT'S THE DEAL!?!?! This build off just kind of.. faded away? I was following all of this so what happened.. and I was looking forward to a part 2 because I wanted to join next years build! (even had a car ready) OH WOW... it's been a year since you guys last posted in here.. Looks like I didn't follow very much.. more like read the whole thread and the whole WIP thread lol
  21. Riz that truck is really nice I love that color it's actually one of my favorites. It also looks identical to the 55 chevy stepside I'm building woud yours happen to be an AMT? Mines dated 1995 so Idk which release it is
  22. in 2012... I'll turn 21 (UHOH) nah J/k although I will hit the blackjack tables just once but anyways by 2012 I'll actually have a decent model completed... with an actual painted body! WOO!
  23. Well.. if you guys can stand to see something ugly I build I would like to join... -long story of why I somewhat don't want to- Ok basically I'm not even a builder.. I have some models but the most I've done is hand paint things.. I can't paint bodies to save my life or use spray paint.. I always get too much on and it runs.. or it's NEVER even.. so I literally have about 9 models with a lot of hand painted stuff but none with painted bodies.. when I was younger I would put together pre painted models or have my stepdad paint things that I needed spray painted.. which didn't help my learning but anyways.. that's why some of you may have seen me around here but maybe wondered why I never post any of my work.. -ok if you don't like reading here is the point- The truck I'm working on is a 55 chevy stepside.. it's being built to look like it's in black primer as if it was a street truck in progress (pretend it's a 1:1 in someones shop) I know it's lame and not going to be worthy of being in here... But it would motivate me at least.. so if you guys can overlook it and give me pointers I'd love to join in on the fun
  24. No way thats cool! (I did this model over 10 years ago! (I'm 18 now) so it's really great to see this... The cool thing is over at my dad's he has it sitting up on a shelf.. I kind of forgot about that! also sitting beside it is the only model I know of him doing it's a 199"3"? Ford ranger modeled after his 1:1 94 ranger that he bought new (and still drives with the original motor at over 300k miles)
  25. On the concept (the one that was the real concept for the what we have now charger) .. It looks like it should be a remake of an intrepid or avenger or w/e that's called... The same grill design may be a trademark style.. but it's getting played out and to put it on a concept for a legend in the car world doesn't settle well with me
