  1. Its funny you should ask that because i plan on driving to the models shows in the 1:1 and ofcourse I'll take the model with me. And I do plan to take pics of both together.
  2. Thx for the sincere compliments fellas......as for your question on what I'll be building next, well I have a few projects to choose from but im leaning toward doin a 300 Magnum C its a Jimmy Flintstone resin body with a 300C front end linked to the magnum body. Or I may just do a 2 door short wheel base Hummer, Or I may just do a Caddy Lowrider (I havent built a lowrider in 15 years), Or I may just do the Yenko Nova as a sleeper. So now you know it'll be one of the four. maybe you can help me make my mind up.
  3. Just wanted to share this mock up with you.....What do you think?
  4. Thats one nice intercooler Bro keep up the good work.
  5. really clean build , i can only appreciate the time and effort you put into it. excellent show piece you have.
  6. excellent build , the one thing I have always wanted to do is a woody with real wood thats 4 projects down the road for me. keep up the good work.
  7. That sounds like a good idea but Id do it the other way around, paint your car gloss or semi black first then add your stripe. Its better to have the stripe raised on your paint than to have a dip the size of you stripe going down the middle of your build
  8. You could do it with black but your gonna need a transparent black a color that gets darker with the more coats you apply. There are some candy blacks that do just that HOK (House Of Kolors) makes a black thats transparent I forget what it's call though.
  9. I totally agree with you there would be no model left and that darn string is always breaking. When I want to get a super fine fit with doors I'll use the two kit method, where you use one kit to get the doors, trunk, hood, gas filler door ,and whatever other parts you might need. You basically trash that one. And do the exact opposite the the other body. Then sand all parts down to the kit scribe lines. Talk about perfect fitting parts. The draw back though is it can be exspensive.
  10. Hey Mike thx for your comment and compliment. as for the hood and trunk lids I still use the tube and wire but in a different setup its also very simple to do and works very well. Maybe I'll do a write up on it.
  11. Ok so now I got this nice paint there are some minor repairs I need to do but nothing a quick wet sand cant handle. here are a few more pics to keep your mouth watering LOL! (sorry if I sound like im patting myself on the back i just really like the way the colors turned out) Front fenders and trunk lid... Roll cage.... heres the doors I havent taken the tape off yet the paint is still to soft.
  12. Thank you Donnie ..... Well fellas I wanted a few more flame EFX on the body so I used the negative method this time (instead of using the flame pattern I used the pattern I cut it out of) I did this to get some contrast and a depth in the ghost patterns. then I sprayed the sunset gold once again and moved on to the second color coat. which came out beautiful (after some corrections) here you see the almost finished dash... And heres the second color coat....I was using HOK candy wild cherry but it laid down so thin it looked purple. So I pulled out an old bottle of HOK Brandy Wine and shot that on top of the wild cherry and MAN! it came out slammin. You tell me what you think.
  13. Great way to get the youngsters involved in this grand hobby of ours. Bravo! And let Brittany know this is a job well done.
  14. I always enjoy seeing your builds and this one is no exception, very nice and clean. Keep it up!
  15. Wow Owen Im actually looking forward to this lil beast (pun) coming to life. keep up the good work.
  16. Beautiful build!!
  17. UM I think I hate it....., no I love it!....no thats not right either.hummm.. Ive never been confused like this over a build. are my eyes decieving me (maybe its the starbucks double shot and the 2 Three Musketeer bars). Ok I think we can agree its a great build LOL! but did they really drive these in finland? However my feelings may be youre doing a excellent job keep up the good work!
  18. Nothin like startin your day off with a good bowl of scratch building. keep up the good work
  19. Im glad you liked the Ford as it is one of my favs too, And im using the Chevelle model as a design tool for my actual 1:1 so what you see here will be pretty darn close to what the big guy will finally be.
  20. Thx for your kind words Shucky, to answer your questions, Yes its the same color, and Yes these are the Mr.Model wheels and yes I just flipped the rim around to make the deep offset rims.
  21. Ive never used scribbing tools although I have heard the good and bad about them, its really a matter of personal preferance. the back of an exacto is what i use. And sometimes I'll use the two kit method but that gets exspensive (but I believe its the best way). thx for your question
  22. WOW Jpb well done I like the weathering
  23. hey buddy thx ,and thx for the late nght chat LOL!
  24. Here you can see the second coat has been applied and you can still see the flame pattern. this is after the third coat...you can see the flame starting to get less visable And now after the forth coat the flame is almost a ghost. I still have some wet sanding to do and I also have one more color I want to add so stay tuned....
  25. As you know I started my paint job with a silver base coat by HOK, So now its time to have some fun I made some flame mask and masked the car up. before spraying. I'll be making ghost flames in the paint. my first color coat is SunSet gold by HOK and I'll spray 3-5 wet coats dependig on how visable i want the flames to be....enjoy! here you see the masking before color coat. here I have sprayed the first color coat... now I remove the flame mask and wait 15mins for the paint to flash and spray a second coat. the mask off and were ready for the next coat....
