  1. I'd like one of those, too. I always thought next to the Cutlass, they were the best-looking G-body. Charlie Larkin
  2. Very nice job on that dio. Very realistic. Charlie Larkin
  3. I was thinking the same thing. Usually, I think those big wheels look absolutely moronic on most older cars (and most newer ones,) but they look nice on the Charger. Personally, I like the steelies/redlines and dog dishes, I think it's more in keeping with the character of the car. Charlie Larkin
  4. I'm starting to put together an AMT '67 Cyclone and some of the painting instructions on the instruction sheet and the (very) few photos I can find online have me wondering about some things. 1. Was Ford still using red oxide primer? Especially since I'm planning on doing this in Burgundy, it'll be important. 2. Similar to a Chrysler product, should the unitized body floor be simply primed with a little overspray on the edges? 3. The pictures in some of the cars I've seen appear more gloss black than semi-gloss black for the inner fenders and firewall. Feedback? 4. I'm guessing the suspension and subframes should be the U.S. industry-standard semi-gloss black? 5. I'm going between red and saddle for the interior. Does anyone have a suggestion for a paint that will replicate the saddle trim? For red, I'm planning on Testors Flat red for the floor and gloss red with a little flat black added to it to darken it slightly and to give it a slight shine, as the red seems a bit bright from the pictures of ford's red interiors of that period. The interior parts are primed in gray. Any ideas/tips appreciated. Charlie Larkin
  5. I hope all goes well for your son. Congratulations! L'Chaim. Charlie
  6. I like those wire wheels. Where did you get them? Charlie Larkin
  7. Looks good, Mike. The orange is a little bright for undercover work, but it does look good. Charlie Larkin New England gumshoe...New England cannon. It works. Charlie Larkin
  8. Stunning work. That Mercury is outstanding. Charlie Larkin
  9. I love the Pontiac especially. For curiosity, what are those spots I see on the tops of the cars? It almost looks like old Magic tape. Great work, I'm really enjoying your builds. Charlie Larkin
  10. Once the stock parts are available, I'm picking one up. I'm trying to think if any 232/258s are available. Barring that, a 304 would be quite acceptable. I'd recommend using an intake off a JoHan second generation Javelin, I have one and will probably make a duplicate. I might actually even make a duplicate of the whole engine. I'll enjoy watching this. Charlie Larkin
  11. That's a nice desk. I might consider that for myself for my work area. Charlie Larkin
  12. I think it looks great, but you need to be happy, too. Personally, I'd leave it be, but if you're not happy, it'll always bug you. If you want to strip resin, Easy-Off is the best way to go from my experience, with Whestley's Bleche-Wite a very close second. Scale Equipment still makes this kit, and I'm sure would be happy to sell you a replacement set of decals if you need it. Charlie Larkin
  13. Nice job for a first time out. With practice, it'll get even better. Charlie Larkin
  14. Nice work on the building. Charlie Larkin
  15. Is the photo-etch available separately? I've thought of building a regular Cutlass coupe with one of the 4-4-2 kits. Charlie Larkin
  16. ? Do I want to know what's going on? Morbid curiosity is getting the better of me.... Charlie Larkin
  17. I'm drooling...seriously. Attention everyone- move to Massachusetts so I can sell you houses and I can buy models! Charlie Larkin
  18. The Duster could work, but I'm not that comfortable hacking stuff up. I KNOW I'll do something wrong and with my budget, I can't afford that now. Jeff- do you have a Volare' chassis floating around? If so, what would a casting cost? Or- any feel how much the F-body kits are trading for anyone? Charlie Larkin
  19. YES! Especially the Cabellero! Charlie Larkin
  20. I never thought they were that bad-looking. Front's maybe a little weird, but they're okay otherwise. Nice job. What colors are on it? Charlie Larkin
  21. I bought that kit from the Modelhuas a long time ago. I'll get to it soon, I hope. Great job with that. Charlie Larkin
  22. If you do a non-VIN body, most states will assign a VIN which will allow it for title, etc. That should also clear it for road use. I might look into one of those for myself. A 300/auto and 4x4 system out of an F-150 should go with a little jiggery-poke. Charlie Larkin
  23. I like it. A creative rendition of a common theme. Charlie Larkin
  24. Basic or not, very nicely done and a great idea for a photo box. Charlie Larkin
  25. Second the motion.
