  1. Lookin' good, Bernard. Charlie Larkin
  2. He's having fun, he's learning how to follow directions, he's learning how to think. More importantly, he's investing in quality time spent with an adult. Charlie Larkin
  3. Very well done. The young lady has a promising future in the hobby ahead of her. Charlie Larkin
  4. I think I have one of those downstairs unbuilt. If not, I'll be looking for one. I built one quite young and let's say it didn't work well. What color are you leaning towards, Roger? I always liked Caramel on those cars. Or black....Chryslers always look good in black. Charlie Larkin
  5. The best part is through Craigslist, your local shoppers, newspaper for sale ads, and what have you, you can pick up all of this stuff for very, very short money. You can probably get all of this for well under $100 if you don't mind used equipment, or you probably already have some of these. Even good quality new tools, like jeweler's files aren't really too expensive. Charlie Larkin
  6. As these cars were custom-built, you could have any color you wanted, but black, maroon, dark blue, dark green and perhaps white are the most appropriate colors. John- GREAT job! Charlie Larkin
  7. You did a nice job using what you had, Chuck. Good work. Charlie Larkin
  8. What a mess! I mean that in absolutely the nicest way possible. Great work. Charlie Larkin
  9. How about some sprue sanded to shape for the extinguisher body and nozzle with some string or ignition wire for the hose? This is fantastic, Mike. One of the most creative ideas I've seen in a while. Charlie Larkin
  10. Except for the actual marriage part, I see we had similar problems... Charlie Larkin
  11. I must say, George, in virtually every respect, she sounds like a dream come true! The experiences of myself and my friends is that very few of the women of my generation (I'm 35,) are tolerant or accepting of their mates' hobbies or interests, and it's very discouraging- yet, we "have" to be tolerant of their shopping, whining, screaming, and other women's lib-gone-bad drama. Fortunately, there are exceptions (Michele here on this board comes immediately to mind, not only as an exception but as someone who plays along, which is almost unheard of,) but they're very rare. The Ex, as stated before, was indifferent, which I suppose beats hostility. Um....does she have any like-minded younger cousins or nieces?? Charlie Larkin
  12. Or why so many of us with serious hobbies just stay single....or is it the hobby involvement that keeps us single? Well, whatever.... My ex thought it was "cute," but she never really understood it. She knew if I wasn't at a Masons or Odd Fellows thing, I was at home, building usually (or posting something on one of my boards.) Charlie Larkin
  13. Major improvement, Bruce. Charlie Larkin
  14. Clever way to represent a camera, Mike. It never would've occurred to me to do that. Charlie Larkin
  15. Does anyone make the flat hood for these? I was also wondering, are the differences between a 1971 and '72 substantial? I'd be inclined to do a standard or SE 318-powered car. Charlie Larkin
  16. Thank you. Charlie Larkin
  17. Best looking Maverick I've ever seen- period. Charlie Larkin
  18. Some very impressive work again. If I can figure out what to do to make a sedan out of it (as in changing the roof as needed,) I'd definitely be interested in picking one of these up. Charlie Larkin
  19. WOW! Was that the model you were offering to us earlier? That looks fantastic, I really like what you're doing with it. Charlie Larkin
  20. I've seen them in a few different kits. I think my '62 Buick has them. And a few others. Next time I have a chance to do a little poking and if I remember, I'll see what I can find. I could probably be talked into parting with a set if needed- and I can find them. Charlie Larkin
  21. From the appearnance of things, I'm guessing you're mating that up with a '57 for a more detailed model? Good idea Charlie Larkin
  22. Very nice work, Rommell. Charlie Larkin
  23. Settings...raw...software.... And people ask me why I stay away from digital cameras. I just put my film in and shoot, and let the automatic settings on the camera do their work unless I have a tricky picture, then I go to manual. Charlie Larkin
  24. Nice work; I have a '61 that I'll be doing a stock restoration on. I rather like the color, too. Charlie Larkin
  25. Art, this is really exciting to watch. I've enjoyed watching this project since the start and was thrilled to see it at both Classic Plastic and MassCar. Watching you do this really makes me want to kick myself for not taking machine shop in college when I had the opportunity to. Charlie Larkin
