  1. Just like their classic tactic...? Y'know, surrender! Charlie Larkin
  2. I might be interested in joining in this, too. I have most of the above-mentioned kits. Charlie Larkin
  3. This is coming out very nicely. Good work. Charlie Larkin
  4. That color looks good on the Charger, Mike. I'm looking forward to seeing it next week. Charlie Larkin
  5. Great idea! As another film adherent, I never thought of this. Have you tried lacquers in them? I'm just wondering because of whether or not the solvents would attack the canisters or not. Charlie Larkin
  6. The paint is stripped. On re-evaluation, I've decided to re-do the interior, and that's being stripped now. I've encountered a real set-back. Does anyone have a window unit for this one? I didn't even realize I didn't have one until now. Oops. May need to make a change of plans for next week. Charlie Larkin
  7. I didn't even know there were any here! Charlie Larkin
  8. Excellent job! Charlie Larkin
  9. Interesting concept. I like it. Charlie Larkin
  10. Model Master bottles are 1/2 ounce. For one ounce bottles, try Harbor Freight, I saw them there at reasonable prices. Charlie Larkin
  11. Very nicely done. Charlie Larkin
  12. Nice job on the interior. I'm guessing that's your first time trying that? If so, for an idea, use a ruler or a square/rectangle drafting template to lay out the outlined doors, and then try outlining them in fine-point black marker. Charlie Larkin
  13. Nice job, Chuck. I'd like to see more construction equipment kits in 1/25; I personally don't have a huge call for them, but the extra diversity of kits would be nice to see. Charlie Larkin
  14. I remember it well. I was working part-time and was just waking up. I ended up sleeping on the couch and was waking up just in time to hear my mother say "I'm turning the TV on, a plane crashed in New York City." And I then proceeded to watch for the next several hours what can only be described as sheer, unadulterated horror. With the exception of running a short errand, I was home that whole day watching the disaster. The weather was much like it is today, actually. Sunny, not too hot, very comfortable. I think perhaps the most telling thought came from, of all people, Col. Khadaffi, the Libyan dictator, which, as reported on NBC news, went something like this: "Despite the very deep differences between our countries, there are times when all differences must be set aside and we must stand against such gross acts of senseless violence." This from the man that bombed Flight 103 and the Athens and Rome airports, seized Mediterranean ocean liners, and a list of atrocities that's nearly endless. And nobody I've ever heard, friend or foe, has questioned the sincerity of that statement. When a murderous madman is pushed beyond his limits of tolerance, that tells you just how bad something is. Always remember this and never forget those who did not live to see the end of that beautiful day in September.
  15. Vegas.....one more show I wish the studios would stop having hissies over and just get onto DVD. I used to like it. Never seen S.W.A.T. Is Spenser on disk yet? Charlie Larkin
  16. I like it. I like the twin-carb 4-cylinder, too. It's definitely different. Where'd you find the intake for it? Charlie Larkin
  17. General Motors products, independents makes, and Chrysler products are my favorite overall, along with capital "C" Classics. Charlie Larkin
  18. I'm probably going to do it with Model Master Honduras Maroon. The nice thing about Jo-Han kits is they build pretty quickly and they're easy to build. Good thing. The instruction sheet went missing! Charlie Larkin
  19. I've been trying to figure out what to do for a build to take with me to Classic Plastic. Hopefully I'll get this one redone. I started on this when I was in about late 7th or 8th grade. I was having trouble with the paint, put it in the box and hasn't looked at it since really. This is a Jo-Han 1962 Olds F-85. I'm going to leave the interior except for some detail painting. The body will be re-painted, and I'll probably re-do the chassis, too. This is where things stand as of now. The engine will also be stripped and repainted in the correct red. The rest of the bits and pieces. It'll be in the Bleche-Wite shortly. Charlie Larkin
  20. I think it's kinda cute. What is it? From the grille, I'm thinking Alfa. Charlie Larkin
  21. That's because in 1966, Lincolns went through a subtle, but very thorough, revision. I believe all the body panels are different, with the possible of the roof. There were minor revisions made from 1967-69. Charlie Larkin
  22. How about pinning this thread? I think it's cool. I'll have more later, but last Saturday, Dad and I were on our way to a cruise night. We found when we got there the restaurant had gone out of business sometime in the last three weeks, which was tragic, because it was good. That cruise had also been running for probably the better part of twenty years. On our way to Framingham, we went out the back road, and we found this on the road. This is a 1929 Deusenburg Model J roadster with a Derham body. The fuel pump had quit, and the man was less than a mile from his son's house. While waiting for his son to come with the Suburban and a tow rope, we kept him company, and took pictures. More will be coming, but for now, here's one. That's me talking with the guy. Dad took this picture. This man has three more Deusenburgs and a Bugatti as well. And when you see his (and the kid's) house, you know he isn't bluffing! Charlie Larkin
  23. I like your resourcefulness, Mike. I'll enjoy seeing this up close and personal next week. Charlie Larkin
  24. I'm going to have fun watching this... Charlie Larkin
  25. Very nice work, Raul. That orange looks good on the Studebaker. Charlie Larkin
