  1. Jantrix, the biggest compliment I can pay you is that you are working on a model that is going to get lots of attention because nothing like it has been done before. I'm loving every step of this one. The details are making this build. Not to mention the treasure map paint job. Where is the parrot going to go?
  2. In just a couple of days. VERY EXCITING!
  3. I'm with Mike, I don't have a set number, and in the last few years I have fallen in love with a kit in particular and have spent a good chunk of the year building the same kit over and over . . . this way I am forced to know a kit rather well.
  4. Yes, yes, yes, EYEGORE is salivatin', and Doctor Cranky LOVES it!
  5. What? There are cookies at the FAST meetings? Nobody told me!
  6. Oh, listen, when you are applying my decals to flat paint you have to put on a light coat of FUTURE clear so that you don't get silvering. It's a great trick to use on all decals. Without having to go into MAD SCIENCE, decals don't do well on a straight flat surface. I don't see any problems with your decals so far, but if they start to go white on you or they look strange, remove them and I will send you a new sheet to use.
  7. BRYAN, I AM HONORED AND FLOORED BY THIS BUILD. It's looking perfect, and you know who else loves it too. EYEGORE!
  8. Sure thing, Bill. Looking forward to it. Best, DC
  9. Looking forward to seeing more progress on this one.
  10. Thanks for all the wonderful posts, and updates, and inspiration.
  11. Thanks, Dan, if you can get us that link, that would be great. Wayne, congratulations, buddy. Yes, we build for ourselves, that's it. It keeps us happy and the imagination flowing.
  12. Keep it going. Eat some chicken wings and down them with Mountain Dew and keep this build going! It's a beauty.
  13. Thanks for the little tribute. I'm loving all the details. Go, B, go!!!
  14. LOL, I see this thread is taking a nice humorous twist. Muahahaha!
  15. Looking good, those bomber seats are so cool.
  16. Dan, yes, one was painted with enamel and cleared with enamel, which got damaged faster than the other which was painted with house of kolor and cleared with Dupont Spot clear. Everything was given ample time to get cured. Where did you get the cotton mops? If you have not done a HOW-TO for the HOW-TO section, you should, your results are OUTSTANDING.
  17. Dan, I would love to see a video of how you do it. The times I've done it, the heat generated burned down the primer, and then I stopped. Your results are fabulous. I'd love to see a picture of the tools you are using. I have the Dremel Stylus too and I set it at the lowest speed, and I've been using these cotton wheels I got off the internet, and the polishing compound I use was Novus 2. As I said, I tried it a few times and each time it ended up in disaster. Of course, I was only using scrap bodies.
  18. Beautiful color. Looking forward to more progress.
  19. Can't wait to see more indeed.
  20. Yes, indeed, I am looking forward to more eye candy.
  21. Classy looking and beautiful, excellent.
  22. All right, folks, as time keeps on speeding down the track, and we are quickly entering the middle of November, I'd like to hear from as many of you as possible about things you've tried at the bench this year (success & failure), and things you've learned. You are welcome to wax poetic as much as possible. Personally, this year I gave up on trying to experiment with dremel style polishing on plastic. It simply does not work, and I would never recommend it. It works like a charm on metal, but not on plastic, even at very low revolutions. Also, remember that one of the real treats of this time of year is seeing a round up of all the models you've built for the year, so bring on your eye candy, just one picture of each model is fine. If you feel like posting more, then you can do so in the Under Glass section for cars and trucks. Happy 2012! What's left of it! Cheers, DC
  23. Pin striping in our scale is very difficult to do, but it can be done and it looks very cool on Rat Rods, etc . . .
  24. More great pictures, everyone, I am including these last two rounds in the next UPDATE VIDEO. Keep up the good work.
