  1. They have been talking about doing this for awhile.
  2. Detroit Area Auto Modelers November 27, 2014 ยท Our March 29th 2015 show will also feature a 1/4 mile slot car drag racing event. More details to follow. This is from their Facebook page. A good show if you want to look around and get some kits. The show is northeast of Detroit in Macomb . There is also a Show in Slyvania Ohio ( just over the border) on March 14 .
  3. So lets see you started this on Wednesday and it looks this good , now you have a whole year.
  4. What a great idea for a fundraiser. When my oldest brother was in they had an Adults only class. It was to keep the dads hands off the kids cars. Yeah right. When I was in they no longer had that class. When my brother was involved with the cub scouts as an Adult he had that class again. The only rules were it had to fit in the same box as the kids did, standard weight and you had to use the wheels from the kit. He made his body out of Clear plastic.
  5. Not a bad price at all for this version .
  6. "Be careful with my car, all this stuff happened last time I parked here. " Looks good so far.
  7. this is some outstanding work.
  8. Congrats ! the hobby will wait. enjoy the first year in the new house with the new baby.
  9. It seems he has went back to an older name on there. Well at least someone has listings that look the same with the product and pictures. http://www.ebay.com/itm/67-CHEVY-TRUCK-SHORT-BED-1-25-SCALE-RESIN-/151602360344?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item234c347018 I think this is that seller now or should I say again.
  10. Diet candies .
  11. I liked the Shasta so much I purchased it a few years ago. On the to do list. I spent many nights sleeping in one of those little campers as a kid.
  12. Kerry this car is so cool it needed to be posted twice.
  13. Double sided tape works great for applying sand paper. you can stick it to many different shapes also. I use a hard rubber form with double sided tape sometimes. Like what has been mentioned before the cheap ones are fine for removing the high points of the filler or sprue but go to the better options when you get close.
  14. Thanks Ben for setting me straight on this.
  15. Ben you are saying clear over the tape before you paint the second color? That does sound like a good idea.
  16. Brodie the above post is from another question in this section. Local parts store sells it . Makes sure it is two part. You may also want to try and use plastic sprue (stretched with a heat source )to fill in larger spots . I like the bondo two part because it is faster than spot filler and shrinks less.

Regular "bondo" in the big cans is really too coarse in my opinion. Use 2-part finishing glaze. I used to swear by USC Icing (I build real cars and always have it in stock) but the Bondo Brand stuff shown above is even finer-grained and comes in small packages.
  18. I was wondering that myself.
  19. Thank you for the info Tom. What you have stated is what I was thinking but I though they displayed old kits also. So if you go to the show find out the closest shipper.
