Another old but good topic.
You should open right after you get them. The reason I have just opened a few kits I have had for years here . Not sure the place of purchase. Bodies, contents and box do not match. oops Live and learn.
Did not even know Lindberg made a convertible of that year.
As far as the Hottie figures go they nothing wrong with what they are wearing. We may not like the name but that was what girls are called right now.
This is a good Blog to check out daily . If you go to the Home you will be able to see the Ohio George Willys under the hood photo at the Henry Ford also.
The warmer it is the better it works also. Not hot but warm. When it is in the 90's around here it works great but as soon as winter hits it slows down for me.
You might have to hit it with oven cleaner if the 91% alcohol does not work.
Would it be cheaper to add a like button compared to what it cost to have all the simle posts of "cool" Nice work" or "good start" . I do not know what the difference would be if any. I feel it will shorten up the pages on many.
Also would the like button only be on the original post or every time someone posts anything?
I think you are very close to why these bodies are molded in different colors. I wonder if MPC was doing any Promo work back then. I say this because after they get the extruder up and running they do not like to shut them off( they run at a very hot temp and it takes hours to cool and clean out the hardened plastic). This explains the swirl color plastic. They just dump a different color pellet in the hoppers. The different colors of kits just may have been what was on sale or was left over from promo work or as you have said before "outside molding".
Every notice all the different colors under the chrome platting ?
Have you ever looked at Jay Leno's garage web site. He has a Fiesta or a Festiva with a rear mounted SHo engine. It is called a Shogun or something like that. He likes the car because it is nimble with plenty of power.
In the real world all it takes is a C4 out of a Aerostar for the rear drive Sho engine. I love the EXP idea.
