  1. Cool.
  2. Yes there is a museum (in Salt Lake City I believe is the location) and I think they take donations. Built or unbuilt , if they dot need it they may sell it to pay the bills. They do only need s many copies of the same kit but they can keep the best copy or combine two different kits. Not a bad idea to send it to them but with a big collection it may be pricey to ship.
  3. I purchased some things from them at the last Detroit show in the fall. With a young couple and a couple of kids I see why they are not producing a product. Just not sure why they would not sell if they do not have the time.
  4. Nothing wrong a weathered style model . it takes skill to make it look good just as a shiney one does. To me the whole rat rad thing was a throwback to drive what have done to the show and enjoy it. Do not be ashamed that you do not have $100,000 plus build . That being said just as show rods are over the top custom/rods so are some of the rat rods.
  5. If you get things in writing with a lawyer will help. The only problem is if she has access before the will comes to light. Some people go through things before it hits the paper or calls are made. Tell a close friend what is to happen with everything . A friend of mine passed that had a restoration shop . What a headache for the family. Were the parts his or a customers ? Most of that was figured out over time but with the cost of some of it , it was a hard few months.
  6. It is a good idea no tell someone what to do with all your hobbies. My sisters have a plan, it is a big black plastic bag for anything they do not want . Watched this as they went through my late brothers stuff. Nothing personal to them they just wanted it all gone.
  7. Yes they do manufacture the weathered look sometimes. They will sand down to bare metal and let it sit in the rain or water it down and let rust. Sometimes even using salt water to speed it along. Guys that have been fixing older cars that need to look original have been doing it for years(repaint this but weather it so it looks as if it has been under the hood the whole time). As for the Ridler Award I do not think a weather car will ever win that award. Next week is the Detroit Autorama , hope to spend all day friday looking around.
  8. Just wait until her hobby bill is bigger than yours. The best Daddy time ever.
  9. This looks good. I like the color variety in the blocks.
  10. Justin if you leave now that will be one less person that builds what you like on this forum. If you stick it out you may find that people will respond and if you ask questions that may also help. We may not respond because we do not have knowledge of your subject matter. Just do not give in.
  11. Good looking Vette Carl.
  12. Looks great. Nice color and flames.
  13. http://www.bing.com/...lectedIndex=164 The Michigan State Police used them also.
  14. Novis polish works good on plastic glass so does a product that Bobs Paint sells. It is called SNAP his email is gdahl1@wi.rr.com . Bob is on this forum. Bob Dahl is his name, he sells some nice paint also.
  15. I think the glass just needs a good washing and a polish job. It seems to be just old dust to me. wash with water and dish soap should take care of it , then polish.
  16. If you are not in a big hurry you can watch for a bit on ebay. Sometimes you can get an incomplete kit for much less than a 100.
  17. As a kid I loved this show . I will be watching also as I have a feeling it is going to be very cool.
  18. Sweet.
  19. Low production car ordered from the factory , not a dealer installed engine and add ons. Should be a 6 figure value auto. That sure would haul the bacon.
  20. Great combo.
  21. Great job. Best three piece band ever.
