    1960 DeSoto

Just finished this old favourite, the Johan 1960 DeSoto. I built it curbside but spent time on the interior and getting the wheels poseable while improving the stance. I used Scale Motor Sports decals for the seat pattern - not accurate but works fine for me. I mixed the body colour from Sikkens automotive paint and it's somewhat greener than the actual turquoise that DeSoto offered, but I like it. The wheels are from the 62 T/Bird (thanks again Gabriel!), tyres from the recent AMT Parts Pack and I scratch-built the dash mirror and antenna. Detonation

    Amazing!
  6. Looks great, nice detailing on the trim and tail lights. These Mustangs are growing on me from year to year.
  7. Nice looking model, Randy. And yes, things happen and I've learned to live with stuff like that. Most of my models have some (for me) glaring imperfection on one side - so they get displayed with that side to the wall and I soon forget about it.
  8. Love the look of this one, my favourite build of this kit so far.
  9. Not the easiest kit to work with but yours looks great.
  10. One of the nicest Hudsons so far. Great colours and built with finesse. Wonderful!
  11. Beautiful, outstanding model!!! Asolutely love the colour choices and your workmanship is flawless throughout. Fabulous!
  12. Great looking model!!!
  13. This is looking great. One of my favourite Fords and I have the kit too.
  14. Dan, I used the kit's incorrect interior as shown here... Modelhaus has correct 300 hubcaps too but I didn't bother.
  15. Great looking model, fantastic black paint!
  16. One of the nicest builds I've seen of this kit. Great paint, knock-out interior, everything just right!
  17. Very fine work Tulio! The interior is just right and the whole thing looks almost real in most shots.
  18. Love that shiny yellow paint!
  19. Looks great!!!
  20. Got the interior for the DeSoto more or less finished, needs more detail on the dash. I gave the interior more depth by removing the floor, adding extensions to the bottom of the doors and using a replacement floor from an AMT 62 Bel Air. I sprayed the lot with Tamiya white primer because I needed that pure, durable white for the colour scheme; I used Humbrol brush paints for the rest and their whites aren't white enough. I used Scale Motor Sports decals for the upholstery pattern, not at all accurate, but I love the look, specially after some dull coat. Not properly fitted yet, just a mock-up.... Still a list of things to do on this one but it's getting there.
  21. Great looking model!!!
  22. Beautiful looking Olds!!!
