Great job, I would love to get a few of those. You put a very clean model together and congrats on your first year. I've found models to be very theroputic for lots of things. -

You could combine it with the "face to builder" thread Harry. -
Custom made pully how-to..
moparmagiclives replied to moparmagiclives's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Thanks guys. -
Lets say I wanted to do 2" pleats in a 1/16 model, I know its .13 of an inch. Is there a size of half round styrene I should look for? I know its a stupid question, but I'm not sure how these are marked and packaged. I dont live any where near a hobby store that carries these things But I will be passing through a town that does soon, and I want to be ready to drop in real quick. Thanks for any help !!!

Go for it Cochran, you can see the "alleged" leak, running down the pan. even over the reflection of the axle in the pan. That makes it part of the pan right? .....i had to throw that in there I was'nt trying to make a big production of this one picture or vehicle, my question was open to everyone about "A" vehicle that they may have featured in a magazine for a Cover shot. I realize the Cover shot may not show it very well, but the inside spread of said vehicle does. So My question again, If you (not this guy) had a vehicle (not this one) on a magazine cover, or even a full spread inside. Would you make sure it didnt have any leaks? And on a side note, some have made the comment that its a race car, what do you expect. I dont know all the ins and outs, but would a leaking front crank seal, running oil down the pan and under car, pass safety inspection?

Custom made pully how-to..
moparmagiclives replied to moparmagiclives's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
The blower belt was made from black electrical tape cut into a strip, and wrapped about 3 to 4 times around the pully system. I started and ended on the crank shaft to keep the seam hidden as much as possible. I hope this helps someone out, I've gotten so much info from everyone on this forum, I feel I need to give some back. Thanks everyone ! -
Custom made pully how-to..
moparmagiclives replied to moparmagiclives's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Care Needs to be taken to make sure the bearing is centered as the material is removed around it. I've also removed some from the back side to sink it into the pully for contest and interest. Once it's pressed together, a little detail painting and she's ready to be put to work. Two more to go... I like the looks of black against the aluminum tube, with the hardware picked out with a silver sharpie. -
First, I would like to say I hope this hasn't been posted already, I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything, I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes. So here goes. I was showing my buds son some of my projects the other day, and he really dug my funny car engine, mostly the pully and belt setup on it. So I thought some of you guys might as well. We will start with a bare blower belt set up And add a little 1/4 inch aluminum tubbing Here you can see the pully next to the tube, I feel the kit belt is a little to thin. So I will slice the tube a little thicker and work it from there. Here you can see the belt surface of the new Pully next to the stock. A little work with a sanding stick and it's starting to take shape. Now it's time for the pully bearing and retainer. Now we need to make one fit inside the other. A little more work with the sanding stick and it should press in with a little force.

I didn't use the wire, but the insulation makes for cool boot material. One of the guys at work was at auto zone and picked up a pair of ear buds on clearence, but the insulation is a cloth weave. I'm in the hunt !

Major, no Makes it any less of an incredible car, no REALLY hard to see, don't think so. Just. Something I noticed and thought I would bring up, see what everyone else though, I don't think it calls for a total tear down, heck I would probly run it, and who knows, maybe it has a crankcase problem with the super charger. But a rag would have taken care of it for the shoot.

Scrapped rockers are a little different then oil leaks. That's kind of badge of honer, like a quarter panel full of tire/bleach box left overs. You would expect that from those types of vehicles. As much as I tried when I was little, my mom wouldn't let me out of the house come hell or high water with out combing my hair and tucking my shirt in. I guess I figured the cover shot ment a little more then some have expressed.
