  1. It's wrong because you trying to shrink the molicular mass, not just the physical measurement.
  2. From what I've heard, the whole show in general has been shrinking the last few years. Don't take my word for it though, some people like to blow stuff out of proportion... If it doesn't go their way. .
  3. That's the beauty of the Internet, you can type in anything that may have your fancy of the moment and next thing you know, your up too your elbows in pages of pics or articles about it, tons of reference. .... Something's may take a little more searching, but you can find it.
  4. That's great !!! So they must employ hundreds of Americans for their tech support right ???
  5. I have to apologize to the the original poster, I must have some kind of phantom text viruse. I swear I used the words "I" and "me" I had know idea my phone was speaking for everyone.
  6. No, I think you need to recheck the top of this topic, " insperational" .. Doesn't say anything about being cool, nor did I. And as far a my love for mopars, that's what I do for a living, for fun it's wedging the 429 into a 64 falcon sitting in my garage. I never said these guys wernt good or produce great product, and yes, I know he is a car designer, you don't do that kind of stuff off the top of your head, but he designed it and he built it didn't he? You actually kind of proved my point by bringing up the fact that Troy has someone else design some of his stuff, as do others. And once again there is nothing wrong with that, but it does not inspire me, that's all I was getting at. What was the last car that Boyd built ? Not his shop, him self? If I was looking for a business role model, he would be one of them, but as an artistic inspiration, he was out dated and to be honest, kind of a rude person to try and learn from.
  7. Nither of those tricks are new or original, my point was, not many but Poteet at going to drop the cash for a shop to build something like that. It's an incredible machine and a true work of art, but would you expect anything less from that place ? Not very inspatatianl to me. Go back a few years, and there was the guy who chopped up a Chrysler into a two door roadster, in his garage with his buds like you mentioned, that was cool and very inspirational..... Now ten years from now when he owns a shop with 30 people cranking those out left and right, not so much.
  8. I've said that for years, and people always look at me funny..... Preach on brother !!!!
  9. Any self respecting pirate has to have a flag, so I would say for the sake of the carpet matching the drapes you should run the white walls....
  10. I find it hard to admire any of the ubber priced cars or the teams of people that build them. I really can't relate to any of them. Same goes for most of the magazines these days. I grew up around guys that put their heart and souls into projects, on there own. I'm sure chip and Troy did the same, but it's gotten so far of the map, it's hard to fallow.
  11. Two and a half men....
  12. Yep, not much action round here what with the barn closing up and all....
  13. It's funny you mentioned that, one of the things that jump out at me on a really good build, is the feeling that that thing would weigh as real as it looks. Some of the textured paints and such that guys are using now really drive that feeling home !!
  14. Interesting for sure. Thank heavens for lawyers right lol. !!!
  15. Really? If I don't get a license to reproduce something, doesn't the owner have to prove its with in so much of a % there idea and product ?
  16. Though I couldn't imagine paying that kind of cash for a car, I can understand 5 mil for a race car, with a rich heritage. Not a barn find American production car. I really don't see how it compared to any of the cars you mentioned though. Unless I really missed something in th article, I don't see it.
  17. How does the product license work ? Is there such thing as only being able to reproduce something only 90% , for a smaller fee? Are REALY simple things like wheel base and window size just a little off, to keep the license agreement in range? I'm sure I'm grasping a staws, and I bet it's more to do with time chrunches and what's left on the bottom line when it's all said and done. But thought I would ask.
  18. Anyone ever seen smashed car bodys like you would see in a monster truck event? Maybe resin ?
  19. I'm not sure a phone booth is quite the right shape for a display unless it was in the center of the room. I would love to get a 32 ford grill shell from speed way and mount shelves in it. Plexy glass front. I'm sure someone sells one already but it would be fun to build.
  20. Factory original oil huh? That's the last thing I want to see in a multi million dollar classic vehicle... As far as it being worth it, can you turn around and make money on it ? Probly not, so no it's not worth it. But we all know some ubber rich guy will buy it just so he can say " I have the best hemi car" but in all factors of the automobile world (the one that matter) we all know there are far better looking and performing vehicles at a fraction of that cost. Even ones that just like that one. Let them have them, Let them pay those redicliouse prices, we'll see what it's worth when it won't run or drive anymore with out being modified from stock with different drivetrain parts.
  21. Though I am in no way a professional builder or restorer. I do have a lot if pride in my work as a technician and service manager, but I wonder the same thing when I look at a " rat rod" !!! And I think it comes around to my generation (30s) and younger that are VERY satisfied with instant gratification rather then craftsmanship... I just don't get it sometimes..
  22. I think it goes deeper then adults/ and kids. I think the military guys have a bond or passion for it on a personal experience level that most of us will never know, much like those that own or operate race vehicle at a professional level. They know all the ins and outs, so if something isn't right, it's like a slap in the face how obvious it is, as far as the kids know, that's how it's suposed to be. Not that's it's always a money issue, or that we are to dumb to care, but if someone doesn't know better then they don't know better.
