  1. I've started to pick up 1/16 kits, more so for the availability of a variety, the bigger you get, the more your choices slim down.
  2. Little update, here she is cleared, color sanded, cleared, decaled and cleared again. Thanks for looking.
  3. Great job, i like that color. I stole a set of front spokes from a testers t bucket, huge difference on the final product! I also used a different set of slicks. I just couldnt grasp the idea of painting a tire black, their supposed to come that way right ??
  4. dusting with silver and gold, it gives a pretty good representation of the fiber pattern. Once cleared, it has a pretty convincing effect. A little wet sanding and some more clear will give it a very nice smooth finish over the sprayed pattern. It's not totally true to scale, but it gives a good representation. I hope this helps someone, and I hope I'm not reposting someone else's idea. I looked but didn't find much on it. So I thought I would share mine. Thanks for looking.
  5. With the center cut out, it's stretched and taped to the back side of the hood. Fallowed by the sides, butted up as close as possible to keep a gap from forming when the paint is applied.
  6. Because of the bulge on the top of the hood, I didn't want there to be to much detail lost from where the material wouldnt contact the hood side. So I traced the bulge on the screen then cut it out.
  7. I wanted the pattern to run side to side on te hood, not diagonal so I started it with a straight edge across the top This puts the pattern running pretty even across the hood like the real thing.
  8. I thought I would share something I did on a viper hood. I wanted the hood to match the spoiler on the ACR viper, the kit came with decals for the spoiler, but I didn't want to try and get decal material to lay down on the hood vents. So I decided to paint both parts together and try to get them to match. I started by painting the hood with a black crystal. I like this because it has a lot of silver in it already and pops really well. I cut out a piece of plastic window/door screen/netting found in the fabric section at Walmart.
  9. I wonder if the guy in the car got bored watching the tach climb and climb waiting for it to stop making power lol
  10. That's a very clean Camaro, I need to try a texture roof one of these days.
  11. Where can I get my hands on a 16 scale impala ?!? Of any year !
  12. Here was my first attempt at a fuel motor. Lots of fun with the fuel and oil lines. I made a little how to on the pulleys a while back with this one too.
  13. I would have to guess there was something on the body or in the seams. Water or oil of some kind. The fender looks like moisture trapped under the paint but the hood looks like fish eye.
  14. It has to be a little black wash over everything. Really pop the details out. Especially engines and suspensions.
  15. MORE! MORE! MORE!
  16. 936 hp, who cares what they named it, it's insane !!! Regenerative torque reduction?!?! How awesome is that !!
  17. Why not black? That is my favorite color on the 32/33/34 coupe body. Flat, shiny, solid, graphics.
  18. Is this her first race? Im confused, is this brought up because she has won so many races ???
  19. Its all in the prep...
  20. Well now what ? I gues I should start my Christmas shoppig.
  21. I would say it was hit by a motorcycle too if I got caught with a dead grizzle on the back of my flat bed. The last guy from around here that got caught with one of those, was drug though every knot hole the court could drag him through. I can't see any markings on the truck, but the people around it, don't excacy look officlal.
  22. Really? That was short wasn't it? I thought it was a beautiful car.
  23. Now that's what I'm talking about !! Give me two for a cleavland, and enough room to stretch it's legs.
  24. It's not the way of actuation, its th fact that a valve has to be pushed open that is old hat. Where are the rotory valves at ????
