  1. What sorcery is at work here sir??? That is the coolest build I've seen in a very long time. WIP pics so we can all copy it please. Bob
  2. I built this for a customer in trade for kits and it was a fun build. I put some extra stuff into it and some light weathering but it builds up nicely. Be careful to keep the wall grooves clean and clear or assembling them will be a pain. The cans of oil were a PITA, and the stock hose doesn't really fall right so I replaced it. Bob
  3. Good call on the panel, it looks instantly legit. You have to wonder if the rivet guy wasn't feeling up to it the day he was working on that mold. Back on track is always a good thing. Keep plugging away. Bob
  4. I'm with you on the fumes, but for me it's about drying time. Acrylics just dry so much faster than even laquers. And they really have almost no scent by the time you have cleaned the airbrush. I do have some oils that I bought for washes as well. It's a bit old fashioned but oil washes have a certain appearance that is tough to beat. So I will be using those as well. But the large portion will be acrylics. Bob
  5. I can believe that about the exhaust. I bought 3 sets of Vallejo acrylics and spent 2 hours last night futzing around with them. They cover so nice and go on so smoothly. I also made my own thinner as per a Youtube video and saved myself quite a bit. I made some extra washes and tried them on scrap and they are looking pretty good as well as the stock Vallejo ones I bought. Kuster assembly to begin pretty soon. Carry on. Bob
  6. That looks outstanding Joe. What paints are you using BTW? Air is a whole nother thing for me but I know you are using acrylics. It just looks too good to be anything else. Acrylic believer since the 80's but serious since 2 years ago. Now more than ever. Bob
  7. Close eh?? hehehe........ I should be starting sometime early next week or perhaps this weekend. I do have one car that needs to be finished that is a commission and I have been dragging my feet with for several months. That, and I'm waiting for my Vallejo acrylics to arrive. I bought quite a bit of Tamiya paint and also made my own thinner, but the Vallejo paints are the finishing touch for the look I'm going for here. That and i may start building armor which was always in the back of my mind for many years now. Bob
  8. That looks great Wayne. I just bought a buttload of Vallejo acrylics on Amazon after watching their 4 part tank video. The layers and pin washes really do wonders to worn surfaces. I plan on using them on my Kuster build along with chipping and rust/grime washes. That rail brings it all together in my opinion. Bob eBay and Amazon should have a nice cross section of Ma.K to choose from. If you need any help let me know.
  9. Got my Kuster & Friedrich today. I put the Mongoose kit box in for scale. It's a fairly good sized box jammed with parts. Box is chock full. These are multi media kits and come with springs wire and various detailing bits. Screen and some PE are usually included as well. Kuster has well over 100 pieces and Friedrich also has 100 plus. Should be good fun as I fire up the airbrush to battle with Ma.K and bring them to life. The cards you see are camo cards. They indicate which camo configurations some units used and the markings that accompany those units Bob
  10. Thanks for the intro and the welcome Joe. I'm very anxious to get started. Unbox and the very first sprue cuts are coming soon. Stay tuned. Bob
  11. I'd like to join. Thanks to Wayne [AgentG] for inviting me. I've discovered a new world in part due to DrCranky and his video blog about Ma.K. If you don't know about Maschinen Kreiger it's possible you are missing out on some of the coolest stuff to come down the pike. I'll spare you who are not interested in the history lesson of Ma.K but this stuff has loads of potential. In particular is weathering, rust and chipping effects which I plan to use on my builds. I will be building the Kuster & Freidrich kit from Wave Mfg. 1/20 scale and detailed to the hilt these kits are not for the faint of heart and they also hurt the wallet quite a bit as well. I have several more kits in my stash already but I was really looking forward to building Kuster [The walker], and eventually Freidrich [the suit] as well. I am expecting this kit this coming week so look for an unboxing and a start. Bob
  12. Beautiful build. I love the extra touches like the fuel shutoff. Paint is also very nice. Where did those decals come from? Bob
  13. I am now totally into Ma.K and just found this when I did a search. This is a great looking Pawn build. I just bought quite a few kits and while not cheap they offer so many possibilities for weathering and chipping techniques i have been anxious to learn and apply. I may post a WIP of one here soon. Check out http://maschinenkrueger.com/forum/ to see stellar builds and a community completely dedicated to Kow and his creations. Bob
  14. DAYUM!!!!!!!!! I was not expecting that at all.... Superb color and finish. Bob
  15. Went straight to video, is the end of that sentence.............. Bob
  16. c'mon man, einstein didnt invent evolution for nothing. There is so much wrong with this sentence I'm not sure where to begin...... Bob
  17. Anything by Lola Bob
  18. I played this at work today [NAPA] and at the 260 MPH mark when it started climbing at 1 MPH increments I looked around me. Slack jaws on every face. There was some discussion afterwards and to a man they were all impressed. Amazing performance. Bob
  19. Tuned in to watch the master bring something unique into this world. It's always a pleasure Ira. Bob
  20. Sweating the little poop is what this build is all about Chris. Do it till you're satisfied, as the song goes. I enjoy you toiling over every detail till they are perfect since the end result will be what I can only state will be an utter masterpiece. These air dams are almost there bro. And since they are prominent to the car they must be like every other piece you have fashioned. Done right and to the standard you have set. Bob
  21. No superlatives left....... just drool..... Bob
  22. What an eye burner!!! Fantastic paint bro. Bob
  23. Honestly John!! Cooler than the other side of the pillow. Bob
  24. I can understand that feeling very well indeed. I used to deal comic books. When I first started I knew very few of the dealers [= to Moebius' position]. I would get tables in the most remote places of the hall, and never of my choosing. I paid my dues [not suggesting they have not, nor should] and things got better. But considering it's an "insider" type show, and Moebius' reputation for quality I would expect dealers to seek them out anyway. I wonder how big that check they have to cut is..... Bob
