  1. What a great build! I have one in red about 2/3rds the way done. Hope it comes out as nice. Bob
  2. Beautiful job there El Presidente'. Bob
  3. I recently purchased a vintage Jo-Han Chrysler Turbine car. All you get are exploded views of parts in a few pictures. Now, I have the skills needed to assemble such a beast but back in the day this type of assembly sheet MUST have been frustrating. Bob One of the best was Revell's Funny car and dragster kits. Great drawings and nothing left to interpretation.
  4. Once I bring it home and replace it with another build I'll snap a few pics of it. Thanks for the request. Bob
  5. Either would be cool but I recently got asked if my Packard Boattail Speedster I'm displaying at work was a Danbury Mint car. I have seen DM cars and know how nice they are, so for ME that was a great moment. Bob
  6. Like Charles up there I use the Bright Beauty with no ill effects. I recently primed a 78 issue Monogram Packard with no ill effects. I think the second line Duplicolor products are a cooler formula. They are also cheaper in price but not in quality. And, they dry quickly and thin. Bob
  7. OK, that is killah! Bob
  8. Anyone have a pic of the actual car? I need to get a set of these Chuck. I'll be placing another order soon buddy. Bob
  9. Dats Purdy Cruzer.... Bob
  10. Having worked on Peugeot's for more than 15 years i can safely say they are one MAKER who is not very good at all.So many problems even with brand new cars. More than I care to mention. I also worked on Chevettes and Citations. Awful little cars those. By comparison, Omni's, Escorts and MB 190E's were great cars with very good reliability. My brother owned a Fiero and that was a POS in my opinion. Electrical nightmare with MAJOR reliability issues. Hit the foglamp switch, the wipers came on! When it was brand new!!!! In its defense, it handled like a go-kart. There is more, but my therapist has warned me against going to those dark places. Bob
  11. For 6 years I owned an 86 IROC with a 350 and TPI. Also was a manual with T-tops. I was told it was not a common car back then. Sold it to my brother who had it 3 years then he sold it to some Portuguese guy who owns it to this day. If I go home to New Bedford and it's a sunny day it will be out in his carport. That dark blue paint looks like the day I got it and I think it's wearing the second set of tires my brother bought for it. I did the chip thing for it but that is the only mod I ever did to it. My guess is it has less than 100,000 on it. Bob
  12. I just bought the new Simil'R Ford GT off eBay at a discount. I buy most of my vintage skateboards there as well. There are deals, you just have to be patient and diligent. Bob
  13. Awesome Brett! And with Ford power!!!! You continue to amaze buddy. Bob
  14. First time I've ever said PASS on TaTa's. Bob
  15. We have one here in Baltimore. I'm heading there soon. Thanks for the heads up. Bob
  16. A little more than I do but you are on point. I guess the days of "just getting to it" are behind us. Replaced by far more accurate builds and better paint jobs. Bob
  17. VERY exciting news. Revell is showing why they lead the kit market here in the States. I'm getting several. Bob
  18. WOW, what a diverse bunch we have! Me? I worked at the same garage for 17 years fixing Audi, Mercedes, Volvo, Alfa, Aston, Porsche, Peugot, VW and the occasional Escort. Played Rock N Roll 2-3 nights a week for almost all of those. After the garage was gone [sad story] I dabbled in a few other things like selling tools and actually working for Mercedes Benz before winding up on the counter at the local Baltimore NAPA. Bob
  19. I don't have a pic but my Dad still has my 1/32 Monogram Fiat gasser i built from around 1976 or so. of course he also has almost everything I have done since then. About 450 builts in his collection. Bob
  20. I went to URI for 3 years. Didn't build one model during that time. I chased girls and played in a band then. Model cars were the LAST thing I was thinking about. Bob
  21. Monogram showed their kits for many years. it's why I bought a great many of them Bob
  22. Yessir, the fall and winter is when I too get back to the serious business of building. Should be fun. Bob
  23. Hideous..... Once you see something, you cannot un-see it. Thanks
  24. Currently reading Stephen R Donaldson's "The Last Chronicles Of Thomas Covenant". Pretty Epic stuff. If you like Fantasy/Sci Fi Donaldson is one of the best. Bob
