$146,000 model dragster,YIKES!
Dragline replied to Mack_Mechanic's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You know what? I can see it... Precious metal and gems. The scoop is clearly meant to come off and is in a few pictures. The photographer put it on backwards for shots of it in place. It can go on correctly from what I can glean. Let's face it folks. There are people out there with money to burn and places to show off such opulence.I actually think it is beautiful in it's color scheme regardless of whether G,B&P ever had such a scheme [clearly it's the yellow car.] For me it's just another example of someone with an enterprising mind figuring out a way to loosen some coin from those who have more than they need. Bob EDIT: Looks like the belt is missing. OOPS..... -
I'm loving it Harry. I too have quite a bit of that Plastruct and K&S laying around. It has come in handy on every build i have done over the last few years. Indespensable. Oh BTW, the build is looking killer. Bob

I'm working on that very same car. Looks good. Bob

Always one in the crowd. We are clearly having fun at his expense and I love everything about it. You put yourself out there on the internet by choice JB.. Call yourself a "Pro" no less and it's what he deserves in no uncertain terms. Poorly executed, underwhelming builds like this that actually get money make me want to put something on eBay to see what I could fetch for a build a tad better than that. I think I could do it guys!! I really do.... Bob

Love that movie and this is a great build Jim, I'm digging the accuracy of that cage and the plexiglass divider too.. That is a scary car and you have done it justice bro. Oh yeah guys. Trade with Jim. You'll be glad you did. Bob

Every one is as beautiful as the next. Your talent with paint serves you well as the finishes are exceptional. Bob

I worked on quite a few of those years ago. I didn't know there was a kit available. Nice color combo too. Bob

LOL!! Larry... The headless theme was not on the table. I'm having a heck of a time painting the stripes on the helmet. I may have to use decal stock cut to the appropriate shapes. I have made a few go's with the paint brush and they were less than stellar. The Snake has red and blue stripes as you know and they are also wavy. Plus there is a 3/4 round with the snake in it in the very front. The decal sheet has the mini snake but nothing else, so it all must be either hand done or the way I'm thinking with decal stock. Bob

Here are the Mongoose tins and the extra set of starter tree decals. Bob
-
I started this and the Mongoose digger early last year [funny saying that]. I forget who i got the decals from but it was a vendor here. Dug it out las week to install the barrel valve and get cracking on the fuel pump. Got the motors hoses done but I cannot locate the pump. I may have to make another.Plumbed the brakes and got a few other things done. Whoever made the decals did a nice job as they are spot on. The starter tree decals are especially nice. The ones in the box would have you paint the tree a dark color which is not correct. I have another correct set from the Mongoose sheet. If anyone needs them i can send them along free of charge. Motor is shaping up I'm thinking a starting line diorama since the elements are just about all here. Perhaps some other goodies from SMBC to set the whole thing off. Thanks for looking. Updates as i get things done Bob

I almost forgot this car. Tried my hand at semi pro touring. A semi OK kit that lends itself to styling cues if you don't go overboard. A digital dash is in there somewhere. And disks at all 4 corners. Lowered a tad and brought the black hood to the nose. Gunmetal accents tie it together. Yes, another MOPAR. Bob

Never knew about the AMC being molded. That is a fine looking ride. Great work on all those cars. Bob
-
A great start indeed. Love the barrel valve and supply manifolds. Gonna be a good one. Bob

This is my current WIP if you like since I have so many. It's what's on the bench at the moment. What I call a quick build. Box stock but heavy on paint details. Bob This camera is just killer and I'm really stoked.

Very good Bill. I'll look at their offerings soon. Thank you. Happy New Year all!!!! Bob

Got some things done and pics up. Glad to see I'm not alone going for it. Harry.................... Aaawwwfuggedabouddit. B -
Yeah, go figure, not a Ford or Chevy in the bunch. I do have blue oval and GM in the works this year however. But looking at the stash it's probably going to be Funny Cars and Diggers mostly this coming year. With perhaps a Chrysler Turbine thrown in for good measure. Not a bad trade off if i do say so. Bob
-
Killer Mr Geary..... Now to take mine on this very year. Question of course. What color did you end up using? I don't have an airbrush and I see a few I am tossing about. Your input would prove invaluable sir. Bob
