  1. It was a great car with legs for days. It just keeps accelerating.
  2. I had one of these in the early 90s that I inherited. Got T-boned in it and that was that in 96. I raced my brother in the Baltimore tunnel once against his Acura Integra with VTec and smoked em. Lots of good memories.
  3. I had such a blast building these kits. Looks to me like you are as well. Well done.
  4. There are plenty of files in .stl on cgtrader.com that should fit the bill. I have not tried any of them myself but they look rather good. Do a search with you favorite drag racing terms and you should find what you seek. Hope this helps.
  5. Great build of a kit sorely needing a reish. When was the last time? Decades at this point.
  6. This one is a very large bummer. I have been a lifelong fan of JB. I will be listening to a lot this weekend and I have a couple of live shows on DVD. Got to see him twice and both time were just fantastic. Such a legend and I am certain the tributes will be pouring in. Recommended listening? Blow by Blow and Guitar Shop
  7. All beautiful builds. A good year indeed.
  8. A lot of work you put into this one. It was worth it. It looks perfect. I have built MANY of these AMT/MPC SW kits with varying results. The Bandai license was a Godsend to SW builders as their kits are so superior. Almost too many parts in some cases. But they do build up rather nicely. May the Force be with you.
  9. They all look great. I have the red and blue ones. Perhaps one day I will build them.
  10. Looks like a winner. No seriously...there is a trophy on the roof so I assume it won...
  11. Zenithal priming is a cool idea. I myself have had mixed results with it. It truly depends on how strong the layers you put over it are. For miniatures it works well. I have mostly given up on it and have gone to tinting my primers. Particularly on miniatures. All these minis I am showing here have a Zenithal prime. As to how well it helped is debatable.
  12. I just came back to auto building after a 2 year hiatus. I got into miniatures and 40K and that entire world. So I know the path you are on in a lot of ways. I consumed Youtube vids about mini painting and techniques for months. I purchased what can be described as a mountain of paints and all the required tools of mini painting so I would be armed with all I needed. It's really a completely different discipline. Armor and military is similar in this regard. Any advice I might offer would be watch plenty of how to's on Youtube and be ready to make some mistakes. Oh, have fun too. It looks to me like you already are.
  13. Getting ready to shoot some Tamiya semi clear on the tins. Rider figure is coming along rather slowly. You have to freehand the entire scheme. I used a pencil to rough it out but with all the folds I think a steady hand is my only option.
  14. WWhatyear is that pan? It looks like a 61. I have an 85 shovel. Shovel top, Evo bottom. Last of the shovels. How did we get talking H-D?
  15. Here ya go. I have not started mine. I inventoried it when I received it as MFH instructs you to do. If something is missing when you get you kit while it is in production your parts are available, whereas if it is out of production you may be waiting a while for replacements. Here is an image from the web. Built in white.
  16. Superbly crafted and styled.
  17. As if to make my point for me. There is no substitute for what you get with MFH. Beautiful stuff brother.
  18. Welcome back to the hobby. Its looking good and your choosing Vallejo is a good thing. Im guessing this is a Hobby Lobby purchase. I have seen Vallejo and this kit there. On fact I have this kit about 1/2 done in my first attempt at hairspray chipping. I think I went overboard but I may have to dig it out after seeing this thread. Of you have qiestions I am sure we have answers
  19. Very nice build. It looks a little used.
  20. I purchased this kit along with a CR450 at a yard sale back in I believe 05 ish. I was living in Baltimore at the time and Mums and I scoured yard sales for eBay fodder to supplement our hobbies. Her was glassware and furniture and mine was comics/magazines and toys/models. We made some incredible buys in those years as resellers were only just starting and we were way ahead of the curve. This kit was started but it was simple engine assembly and nothing more. I worked on it at some point and put it away for some rainy day. So after Rodfather I need something to cleanse the pallet. And nothing does that quite like a Tamiya kit. I am breaking in my new selection of Tamiya lacquer paints and I must say they may be the finest paints I have ever used. Mr Hobby leveling thinner is a perfect match as these dey quickly and lay down so smoothly. I plan on picking up many more soon as they are simply so superior to anything else I see no reason to not have the line and even double up on a few to have reserves. The decals for this are so highly suspect I purchased some replacements. The gauges have already given me heck so I suspect the larger ones are simply going split and cause me to get aggravated. Anyway, here is where I am. While I wait for the decals to arrive I thought the rider should get puttied and readied. I may just end up finishing it and putting the result under glass. It all depends on my aggro factor.
  21. A serious bit of business is this. I finally got my panhead a few months back and upon opening it I nearly fell out. Yes, it was a very large sum of money. But these are without doubt the finest kits of any subject ever made. I will be following your build as I pluck up the nerve to possibly start mine this spring. I suspect it will take the better part of the year if not more to see it finished. I have no doubt this will also take quite a while.
  22. Great color choice. The flag mirrors in white makes them stand out. Well done.
